Hi, I hate to bother you, but do you have any references to improve this article, which has some serious issues. Please fix the issues tagged in the article. Bearian (talk) 22:21, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
- I ultimately haven't been able to find any *reliable* news sources on the 9/11 CGJs, only postings onto email lists and highly-partisan blogs affiliated with the truther movement, so I'll have a hard time with citing sources except for dating first mentions and so on. --RayneVanDunem (talk) 16:00, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your contributions to this article. I did trim the unsourced names you added earlier. Enforcing WP:NLIST may be a little pedantic but with any potentially controversial article (and LGBT-related articles do tend to be seen as such) it is better to stay on top of the Biographies of living persons guidelines rather than assuming that issues will be resolved in the longer term. I reverted your most recent edit to Brevik because of the use of the blacklisted site as a cite. I don't see any problem with your edit other than the use of that cite though so feel free to put it back without the blacklisted site... or perhaps you could work to get that site unblacklisted as from a very brief look at it I can't see why it should be blacklisted in the first place. re NJ Legislative District Template

Template: GLAAD Media Awards
Hi there. I see you've been working on new individual category pages for the GLAAD Media Awards. It's something I've thought we've needed, but I never have the time to work on it, so I'm glad to see someone working on them. I'm leaving you this message regarding the GLAAD Media Awards template. I see you've created a lot of redlinks in the navbox template for GLAAD category pages that we don't have yet. I realize you may be planning on working on the pages and I wholeheartedly support your efforts, but there are rather strict rules about redlinks in templates (and several editors strict about enforcing them). I personally don't think they hurt anything and I've previously defended the use of redlinks in the GLAAD navbox to show the "history" of the GLAAD Awards ceremonies, but quite a few editors are sticklers for the rules and will never go for 30+ category redlinks in a navbox template, so I've removed the redlinked pages for now - but feel free to add them back one by one as you create the individual pages. I completely rewrote the GLAAD Media Award "mother" page last year, so I don't want you to think I'm just trying to give you a hard time - but I thought it was best that I clean up the navbox before another editor who knows/cares much less about the subject came along and edited it for us. --- Crakkerjakk (talk) 14:27, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Egypt constituencies etc.
Hi there! I see you've been adding some Egypt stuff recently - how btw did you intend the lede of List of constituencies in Egypt to go? The real reason I'm pinging you is that I've been trying to get to grips with the people elected to Egypt's People's Assembly and Constituent Assembly - see a work in userpage progress here - and any help, thoughts about how best to lay things out etc. are very welcome. - Thanks for pinging. The problem is that there are two types of seemingly-overlapping constituencies: "single-member" (although that's either one or two members from each constituency, but no more than that and based on plurality voting) and "multi-member party-list". I have to hash out how this will look if we're going to create articles on them (i.e. the titles, such as "First District of Cairo (single-member constituency)" vs. "First District of Cairo (multi-member constituency)"). Even the Arabic Wikipedia has only articles on two or three constituencies of the Assembly, so we'd largely be going off of Egyptian news sites for who won what district in what way. Ugh. Category:LGBT nobility
Hi. You have been adding Category:LGBT nobility to a number of articles, but I don't think they fit. British nobility is made up of the peers (Dukes, Earls, Counts, Barons, etc.) and the landed gentry (a rather vague group that is hard to define). - I'd probably stick British LGBT peers in their own subcategory and stick LGBT knights/dames (the two main categories, but are knights considered noble in the UK?). But I was only going off of Category:Noble titles's inclusion of these titles. --RayneVanDunem (talk) 12:07, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- In the UK some knights may fall into the category of landed gentry (people with large amounts of land) and therefore be considered noble.
- If you add the description from Category:Noble titles to your new category - that it is based on a "broad definition of nobility." Then you should be safe enough. I'd stick the knights into the subcategory as soon as possible though as good faith editors will be reverting you as I did here before starting this discussion. - OK, I created subcats for "LGBT peers > LGBT life peers". Now how do I categorize "LGBT knights"? It's more correct to say "Gay knights", "lesbian dames", "bisexual knights/dames", "transgender knights/dames", etc., but will categorizing every LGBT recipient of KBE/DBE along those lines make sense? I'm confused, and I'm even tempted to just say "LGBT recipients of chivalric honours (by nationality/by title)", which is probably butchery of English to someone who is an anal pedant. --RayneVanDunem (talk) 22:34, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

- Hello, ma'am, your first point would be inaccurate and too broad, as not all non-heterosexual or non-cisgender individuals are homosexual. Your second point would be legitimate if you felt that persons' heterosexualities are not emphasized enough in an obviously-homosexual-majority world, am I right? Your third point about "people who prefer" only makes sense if we were talking about "preferences" rather than orientations, as "preferences" are rather lightweight when describing with whom someone wishes to spend anywhere from a night to their whole life. Your fourth point is only legitimate if the persons cares to refuse disclosure of their sexual orientation in their lifetimes (if the person is living, of course) or if their family members make such disclosures in their lifetimes; "J. You make several interesting, though arguable, points, but I repeat my question that you glossed over: Is it REALLY necessary? Apart from making some sort of political (with a small p) point, who cares who someone sleeps/lives with, unless it has a direct effect on their/our lives? Almost every nation-state provides some sort of leniency for those (mostly heterosexual) relationships which result in childbirth or childraising, almost every nation-state penalizes a less-acceptable type of family, almost every nation-state with a monarchial former government has prioritized the inheritance of noble titles (where heritable) through natural, "of the body" means and "legitimate" births, resulting in countless noble titles dying without "legitimate" issue. All of this means that those who were oriented to relationships with someone of the same gender (or were simply publicly lifelong "bachelors") were historically likely to have highly-problematic relationships with and within the aristocracy of their countries, and that those who now possess life titles (knighhoods, life peerages, baronetcies) not only have somewhat-less problematic relationships with their national aristocracies (i.e., being stripped of their titles when possible, fleeing from or being subjected to arrest and prosecution on the basis of their orientation, ostracization and exile, execution), but stand to gain from further integration of their families into such aristocracies. Such is the interesting history of non-exclusively-heterosexual nobles and royals and their relationships with the nation-state to the present, which should be evaluated on a country-by-country basis. That's one reason why I care "who someone sleeps/lives with", and how such relationships have been treated by powers that be and have been. (And yes, I was being purposefully facetious with the "majority-homosexual-world" thing.
