A Comment[edit]

Being basically retired now, I'm personally disinclined to actively do anything about it (in any case, I don't have the tools anymore), but the user, IMO, is using their user page to advertise a paid service: ' In 2019 I co-founded slovo.media digital consultancy that does paid editing among its services for notable companies and people. ' slovo.media is precisely one of 'those' agencies. Perhaps Doc James should also take a look. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:35, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Comparing the "difficulties" paid editors potentially experience to those potentially faces by LTBTQ is not appropriate.

Request on 10:19:09, 1 April 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by 210.6.22.101[edit]

Hi. Has there been any update to this yet?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Jiri_Prochazka_(martial_artist)

I have submitted the reason. Rizin is an international tier 1 Organization. It is not consistent that many One FC fighters get a wiki page while Rizin fighters don't

Also this fighter has signed with the UFC now and will eventually achieve the fight requirement with a tier 1 organization anyway

Galerie Chalette[edit]

This is just a quick thank you for walking through with the Galerie Chalette article to ensure that the process was correct.

I consider that I'm doing work in a challenging area of Wikipedia--late 20th c artists and their milieu--still a lot of living egos and copyright issues. Thus important for me to get up to speed quickly on Wikipedia standards/expectations. User:Jpbowen was extremely helpful in getting me oriented. But I appreciate also your overlook of the situation. User:Deepfriedokra - I hadn't yet seen the Speedy Keep. They weren't in Guam. They should have made the okra into coffee, but that wouldn't have done any good because okra-coffee lacks the caffeine. Yuck. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:58, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Re: AfC notification: Draft:Return to Dark Tower has a new comment[edit]

Hey there. Thank you for your comment on the draft page. I've written dozens of articles throughout my thirteen years on Wikipedia, though I admit this is the first board game article I drafted. I was wondering, do board games receive the same treatment as films and video games, where if the pretense of their development is notable enough, articles may be warranted ahead of time? For example, I wrote the articles for Dota 2 and The Vanishing of Sidney Hall, which held up, as they had enough momentum from their genesis, over a year before their releases. In your opinion, would a board game - which amounts to a toy - hold up for notability, if it's the sequel to a highly-popular board game, was designed by the creators of the #1 and #2 most-popular modern board games and raised $4 million on Kickstarter? I'm interested in your opinion, as board games seem to be an under-developed quadrant of Wikipedia and an article of this medium is a new experience for me. DÅRTHBØTTØ (TC) 18:56, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:DarthBotto - Well, there is a disconnect between policy and practice. At least for films, the notability guideline for future films discourages articles on unreleased films unless the production is itself notable. There are editors who think that any discussion of the production of the film is sufficient to establish notability, but that is not what the guideline says. As a result, unreleased films can be contentious. I don't see any specific guideline that says that unreleased video games are or are not notable, other than based on significant coverage. However, the gaming press may give significant coverage to games in development. I would prefer not to cover video games or board games in production based on the crystal ball rule, but I may be in a minority. I think that board games and video games should get similar treatment, because I don't see any difference in the guidelines, or any specific reason to treat them differently from each other. I would still prefer not to see separate articles on films that are in production unless there has been coverage of the production in general newspapers, and would prefer to see them mentioned in the articles on their directors, but that is only my opinion. One of my concerns about unreleased films is that I see undisclosed paid editing to publicize the films. Other editors may disagree with me. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:51, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You raise some valid points and it makes me think that there should be further development of Wikipedia policy for art mediums. Around the bend is yet another hotly-anticipated board game in the form of Frosthaven - the sequel to the #1 modern video game, Gloomhaven. With what you've written in mind, I'll refrain from writing an article on that until further notice. Because there are so many unanswered questions and under-developed facets of Wikipedia's coverage of board games, it's nearly impossible to identify a proper formula for writing board game articles. DÅRTHBØTTØ (TC) 18:26, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Robert McClenon. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Rostrevor Old Collegians FC".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 19:19, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:UnitedStatesian - Huh. Twinkle strikes again. I assume that I moved it from a sandbox to draft space and probably declined it. Huh. As long as the real creator is notified, okay. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:13, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

While the disambiguation page Ralph Weber didn't appear to qualify for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#G14, I accomplished the same effect by moving Ralph Weber (skier) to Ralph Weber. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 00:32, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Metropolitan90 - Thank you. It doesn't matter how we get to the result in this case. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:39, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Drtcgoel page rejection[edit]

Dear Robert, Thank you for reviewing the page I created so promptly. I apologize in advance for my mistake. I am new to Wikipedia. This is my first attempt to create a page. I thought it would be better to write an article on Dr T C Goel but hadn't realised that creating a page as "him" would prove to be a disadvantage. This is not an autobiography as I am not Dr T C Goel. He doesn't work on computer and works non-electronically. I am a person who heard good things about him and researching at all his work, books, research and awards he has accumulated, I thought he should get a mention in Wikipedia. All the references I have mentioned are reliable sources: KG Medical University website, Pubmed PMID, ORCID, ISBN numbers for his books and Times of India (a reputed news website). His other awards are local so I did not mention in the wiki as I have no reliable references to support them. Please reconsider this page and if you still think that it is not worthy, then please advise me how to make it better as this man surely deserves a mention in this knowledge base. Many thanks for your help in this matter and look forward to (hopefully) a positive response. Kind regards, Drtcgoel (talk) 17:09, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Drtcgoel - Please ask for advice at the Teahouse. If you are not T.C. Goel, then your user ID is incorrect, because your user ID is that of a real person. If you are not T.C. Goel, you need to change your username. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:31, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 23:16:50, 6 April 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by MELDS212[edit]

Hello Mr. McClenon, hope you're well! I've submitted my draft, Gamut, twice for your review and I truly appreciate your feedback. I'm quite new to the Wikipedia space so I'm here asking for your editing expertise to avoid wasting your time when I submit my third draft. I understand you've raised questions over Conflict of Interest, which I've now addressed on my User Page. Draft content wise, I was wondering if you have any suggestions on ways to improve the article? For my next submission, I plan on adding a new section to elaborate on the OTT (over-the-top) media industry since it's a new, and niche topic that I'm deeply interested in. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, thank you. MELDS212 (talk) 23:16, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

MELDS212 (talk) 23:16, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:MELDS212 - First, I do not normally advise conflict of interest editors in detail. Second, what is over-the-top media? Your draft doesn't say, and that is a lack of context. Third, some of the editors at the Teahouse may be willing to give advice to paid editors (although some of them are hostile to paid editors). Robert McClenon (talk) 00:43, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that[edit]

Please ignore the speedy deletion notice. Most of the Tahiri draft is a copyvio so I'm tagging box the sandbox and the draft for deletion. Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:26, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:GPL93 - I think that you are in the wrong place now. What Tahiri draft? What speedy deletion notice? We know that we agree that copyvio should be deleted. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:07, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
After you moved User:Y.tahiri/sandbox to Draft:Youssef Tahiri, User:Y.tahiri wrote over the redirect with the same draft. When I tagged it under G12 a speedy notice went to your talk page (which I deleted) instead of to Y.tahiri's. Sorry about the confusion. Best, GPL93 (talk) 17:49, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:GPL93 - Yuck. It's a mess. It needs getting rid of. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:59, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Comic_Con_Liverpool Request on 10:19:46, 08 April 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Surflou[edit]

Hi User:Robert McClenon, thank you for your comment on my submission of Draft:Comic_Con_Liverpool, can you tell me what information you might need to satisfy the notority query? I can tell you that the event has been agreed to stay in place with the venue for the next 10 years? The footfall has risen from 8000 in 2018 to over 28,000 in 2020 and popularity on social media and website stats show a continuation and a rise in interest. Prior to this company taking over, Comic Con Liverpool has been an annual event since 2015, first run by MCM then Monopoly Events since 2018. They are also notorious for displaying a large selection of props and sets which no other convention in the UK does. Surflou (talk) 20:35, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sullivans[edit]

"the author of the draft does not appear to have been the author of the article that you deleted"

Maybe not, but the two pages were character-for-character identical. One account had edits going back a few years, the other had no edits except for the draft. We'll see what Woerich says. DS (talk) 23:17, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:DragonflySixtyseven - As I said. The author of the draft does not appear to have been the author of the article. I didn't see that it was Woerich, but I saw that there was a new account, and that the deleted article was not by that account. They do not appear to be the same author. Either one human using two personae, or one human ripping off the work of another human, or something. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:00, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all, where are you finding the other Michael G. Sullivan article? I am unable to find it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by K.L.Neigel (talkcontribs) 01:47, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:DragonflySixtyseven - You can see the deleted edits. You know which account ripped it off from the other account. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:57, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:K.L.Neigel - It no longer exists. If you really don't know what happened, then that is an interesting story about the copying of what may be a story. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:57, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Your draft was created at 11:10 AM; user:Woerich created an identical version as an article at 11:12 AM. Woerich has been around long enough that we expect him to have some sort of idea of what he's doing. Are you saying that there's no connection between you and Woerich? DS (talk) 03:02, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I do not have any connection to Woerich. I am a new user to wikipedia, and the Michael Sullivan article was my first draft submission. — Preceding unsigned comment added by K.L.Neigel (talkcontribs) 03:06, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:Robert McClenon, it appears user:Woerich copied this article from the draft and made it into an article. User:DragonflySixtyseven has helped me re-write the article, can you please look it over and see if you have any further recommendations. Note I was required for a course to write a Wikipedia article on a leading Canadian conservation biologist. I chose Michael Sullivan as he is very well known within the fisheries world as one of the main biologists who helped recover Alberta's walleye populations. While I have never met Dr. Sullivan, I did send him an email to his publically available government email to ask him a few questions to assist me in writing the biography for the course. He is not my professor. I hope this helps clarify things.

I apologize if I was not following wikipedia standards, this is my first article/draft and I am still learning.

Thank you for your help, User:K.L.Neigel —Preceding undated comment added 20:13, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:K.L.Neigel - User:DragonflySixtyseven is an administrator and an experienced editor. If you have worked with DS to improve the draft and they are satisfied with it, then I am satisfied with it. I will comment that I disapprove of academic assignments involving Wikipedia. Too often the instructor makes demands of the students that they have no control over, and this results in the students asking the Wikipedia community to relax Wikipedia's standards in order to allow them to pass a course, when the problem is that the instructor is simply completely wrong. Sullivan does appear to satisfy academic notability. If DS is satisfied, I am satisfied. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:52, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Matthew Kaminski[edit]

Thank you for reviewing the article I submitted on Matthew Kaminski. Matthew Kaminski has been the Atlanta Braves organist for 11 years. Before that they used recordings. He has developed a body of work that is used by many baseball teams that can no longer afford an organist. He is one of a handful of baseball organists in the US today. Most baseball venues use taped music. Although he is based in Metro Atlanta he drives to several universities and is well known to over 10 million people who hear him when games are broadcast. Would it be better if I didn't list him as a musician? There is another Matthew Kaminski who edits Politico which is why I added musician. Maybe a polka playing peripatetic organist does not on the article's face seem notable, but he truly is notable to the many millions who hear him during baseball season. I will try and add some more articles.Kmccook (talk) 12:09, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Kmccook - The draft on Kaminski should make its own case for notability, which can be either musical notability or general notability. You may explain on the draft talk page, Draft talk:Matthew Kaminski. The discussion of notability should not be on my user talk page. I see that your draft had described Kaminski as a musician, and then that was taken out of the title, and then I put that back into the title, so that is not the issue. Please make the case for notability in the draft and its own talk page. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:52, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:ArmyGurl1 - You are asking me about Draft:Chaeyoung. Individual notability of a member of a musical group is based on significant coverage of the individual in secondary sources separately from that of the group. If you think that she has had that coverage, please discuss it at Draft talk:Chaeyoung or at Talk:Twice (group). You may ask for the comments of other reviewers about individual coverage of members of groups at the Teahouse. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:37, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

IOTA (technology) draft[edit]

Hi Robert. Re this diff: the reference error was actually introduced inadvertently by one of our new AfC reviewers. I have fixed it; it was a bit fiddly, and not something that the submitter should have to cope with. On that basis, unless I am missing something, could your comment be withdrawn? The text in the Referror template seems rather severe? Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 20:32, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Curb Safe Charmer - If the reviewer introduced it, the reviewer can fix it, and I will pull the comment. That template probably is harsh for that draft, and is meant for cruddy drafts. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:45, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Tony Michael, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

A tag has been placed on User:StevenLassalle/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Clarifying[edit]

Although user:Abhibedi999 does indeed have a conflict of interest, they are not being paid; rather, they are one of Dr. Johnson's students, and writing about her as an assignment.

I've trimmed the draft some more; have another look? DS (talk) 18:52, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:DragonflySixtyseven - The matter is now being discussed at WP:ANI, and the nature of the conflict of interest does change things. If you have trimmed the draft, then you can be the neutral experienced editor whom I was looking for. Did Johnson assign her students to write about her? If so, that is a different questionable practice. We can discuss with User:DGG and others at WP:ANI. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:19, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I find it quite likely that Dr. Johnson assigned one of her doctoral students to write a Wikipedia article about her, yes, although I have no proof. DS (talk) 19:36, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the beans essay says that there are certain undesirable behaviors that we don't have a guideline against, either because we don't need to have a rule, or because it would only give people ideas. I think that this is another variety of beans. Don't stuff white beans up your nose. Don't put kidney beans in your ears. Don't assign your students to write your BLP, and then they won't mention beans in it. Don't feed magic beans to the goat after you have sold the cow; if you do, as the technical manuals used to say, results are unpredictable. Ratatoskr might run down the stalk and tell you fake news. CodeLaunch: Startup Accelerator[edit]

Hi Robert,

I received this response from you regarding a declined article for submission:

"User:Chascal - First, do you have a conflict of interest? Are you being paid by CodeLaunch? (If not, why are you working so hard to get the article accepted?) Second, you have reference-bombed the draft, by adding a very large number of low-quality sources. There is a myth that, since sources are required in Wikipedia, adding more sources is what needs to be done to get an article accepted. Sources are necessary but not sufficient. You can always find low-quality sources, but you cannot make a non-notable subject notable by adding low-quality sources. That is a myth. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:07, 16 April 2020 (UTC)"

In response - No. I have no conflict of interest nor am I being paid by CodeLaunch. My motivation is purely to provide information. There is no personal gain or promotional intent in my attempt to get this article published.

As for the reference-bombing, I wanted to ensure that there were adequate third-party references on the topic to validate its inclusion. I was not aware of the term "reference-bombed" or that this was in any violation of Wikipedia policy until just now but I appreciate the clarification. I can certainly remove some of the lesser quality sources if that would be of any help.

I would like to know what modifications or methods I could implement to increase the chances this article gets published.

I look forward to your response.

Thank you,

Lucy Achiro[edit]

For real am disappointed, I created my article draft; Lucy Achiro 2 days ago. As it waited to be reviewed, another editor made the same article but in the main space. Now you have rejected mine, just because It took long before it could be reviewed. Is this fair? Am really out of energy because this is the 2nd time this is happening, I created Nasiyo kamugo and as I was waiting for it to reviewed, another editor does exactly the same but in the main space, that's how mine was rejected! For real is it a crime not to create an article directly? Kind regards Alvinategyeka (talk) 05:06, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Alvinategyeka - I didn't reject your draft. I advised that the information in your draft can be merged with the article. If you do not understand, you may ask at the Teahouse for an explanation. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort. It shouldn't be that important to have been the first of several authors of an article. Maybe someone can explain. Can this move hurt anything at the WP:DRN?[edit]

(asking for a move of MediaWiki:Gadget-DRN-wizard.js → MediaWiki:DRN-wizard.js

This move appears ready for an admin to carry out, but I wonder if it is technically sound. Do you know? -EdJohnston (talk) 22:03, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:EdJohnston - What is that meant to do? Is it meant to fix an annoying bug in the display of the list of DRN cases? Will it cause a red tide in the Nile that causes frogs to swarm? If so, there will be four more problems caused by the insects that the frogs had been eating. Who is proposing it? My thinking is to go ahead and do it, and if it breaks something, the something can be fixed, but that is just my thinking. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:19, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No idea. It got listed at WP:RMTR so now it's a problem for some admin to solve. I punted it over to the interface administrators since a regular admin can't do it. EdJohnston (talk) 22:57, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Scott Disick draft page feedback[edit]

Hi Robert, Thank you for the feedback and for taking the time to review my Draft:Scott Disick. One question I have regarding your feedback is that you stated the sources were only passing mentions. This simply is not true. I cited more than 100 sources in this article, and while some of them do contain passing mentions, many do not. I included the pages with passing mentions because I felt they still revealed details about Disick, not to clog the page. I understand that you do not want to look through 100 sources to find the most notable ones, so I'm hoping I can show you some of the sources that are not passing mentions:

I'm not trying to explain the rules to you, as I know you're familiar, so please don't take this that way; however, notability is not temporary WP:NTEMP, and the most recent community consensus for Scott Disick was to allow a new draft. You can find at least two other editors (alongside myself) who have commented on the main page talk page requesting that an article be made for this subject, and an additional discussion on Talk:Kourtney Kardashian. I believe he meets WP:ENT parts one and two. He has been a main cast member in more than 140 episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Since the last discussion, he has started his own show on E!Network without the Kardashians and has guest starred on a number of other shows. Even though Kourtney Kardashian, where the main page redirects to currently, has left Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Disick has continued to star on the show and is considered a main casts member with his own plotlines separate from her. In reference to point two of WP:ENT, he has a large fan base (23.5 million Instagram followers; 6.8 million Twitter followers - more than Adam Sandler, Gwen Stefani, the White House, etc.). Finally, the current redirect does not make sense, because he is no longer dating Kourtney Kardashian. He also meets WP:GNG, because he has significant coverage (which a quick Google search will show).

I already asked at the Teahouse, and they suggested I bring it here. Thanks again for taking the time to help out with this. I'm willing to look at next steps if the above is not enough, but I have never worked with a SALTed article before. Mukedits (talk) 17:27, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Mukilteoedits - Well, I will look at the thread at the Teahouse, but I disagree with the advice to discuss on my user talk page. (However, I agree with asking for advice at the Teahouse.) I disagree with discussing acceptance of an article on a reviewer's talk page, because an article should speak for itself, and should not be accepted or declined based on a side conversation. I will also take a look at the Deletion Review. Where else has there been discussion? Robert McClenon (talk) 19:39, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:Robert McClenon Thanks for the response. There is a short discussion on Talk:Scott Disick. The Teahouse did not suggest that I discuss this on your page, but I am unsure what to improve, since it appears to me that you did not approve it based primarily on previous AfD discussions. The Teahouse editors did tell me to point out the best sources (or it might have been the AfC discussion, I started both). Mukedits (talk) 19:42, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
They told me to bring up any questions I had about the review here on your talk page, and to show you the most relevant sources. Sorry to keep posting here, I should have collected my thoughts a bit first. Above I posted a link to the most recent discussion about Scott Disick, allowing a consensus for a new draft to be made (2019), the link is above. Mukedits (talk) 19:47, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Robert McClenon I opine AfC is fine.

Change of Nomenclature from the earlier Draft entry of AlMaarefa College of Science and Technology\ to AlMaarefa University,[edit]

Sir,

I refer you to the above. I Am just an acquaintance with no conflict of interest. I would like that you alter the old name and make a permanent entry with the new name on your esteemed page.

User:Ahmed Bombosh - The draft appears to be Draft:Almaarefa College for Science and Technology. Do you want to rename the draft to Draft:Almaarefa University? Robert McClenon (talk) 06:29, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article Review[edit]

Hello Robert McClenon. 1. The article draft Draft: Aaron D. Lewis has been well edited, I have deleted the external links, and I think the article is ready for mainspace, may you help me review it again, comment on possible changes or publish if it's up to standard. 2. I have two articles in place that I have intentions to publish; they are on murder mysteries (about Canadian Nathalie Fraser's reported murder in Cuba and reported suicide of Philadelphia's Ellen Greenburg), my investigations are almost complete with reliable sources like MSN, Inquirer, CBC and the sun. What's your advice, do I still need to go through the AfC review process, or could write directly into mainspace? Many thanks! TheEpistle (talk) 14:13, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:TheEpistle - I would suggest that you ask at the Teahouse whether to use the AFC review process or to go directly into mainspace. However, my observation is that a number of your pages have been either tagged for speedy deletion or draftified. I would suggest going through AFC review before the fact unless you are prepared to deal with having your pages go through AFD review after the fact. Your call, but I suggest asking for advice. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:42, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

On the comment on my Incineroar article (JTZegers)[edit]

So you're basically saying that I might run the risk of getting the article replaced to that redirect you were talking about when you declined my draft? He's in Smash for the heck of it! Dorothy McNeil/Club Zanzibar[edit]

Please look again at the material on Dorothy McNeil and then at the existing Club Zanzibar page. The existing page is about a club in Newark (McNeil's was in Hoboken) that operated about the time that McNeil's club closed, and their roster of performers is not the same. McNeil doesn't mention the Newark club in her oral history. I have no further information about it, but they seem to be absolutely separate entities. Therefore it would be inappropriate to merge the McNeil material into the existing Club Zanzibar page as you advise. --Tarkiwi25 (talk) 06:49, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Volareo (manufacturer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. A slice of lemon...
A slice of lemon to garnish your {{trout}} for this report... Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/WikiLeviathan. Seriously, a non-existent sock spamming a non-existent article? Cabayi (talk) 09:39, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:Cabayi - A combination of the inherent limitations of Twinkle and of doing advanced editing in the middle of the night. The lesson should be to leave stuff like SPIs until 1030 local time. The inherent limitation of Twinkle is that I can't preview some of the things it does to see that there are typos. The typos were omitting the unnecessary disambiguation on the name of the company, and a case error in the name of the sock account. You know that I meant well, which is why you provided a trout and a lemon rather than a templated warning. I will leave those accounts and pages alone for now. I will also inquire about whether there is a way that previewing can be done with Twinkle, since this is not the first time I have had that problem. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:00, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What got me onto this, by the way, was another case of Twinkle confusing things, which is that on my talk page, there is a notification that Volareo (manufacturer) was tagged for A7. I had even less to do with it than with some of these oddities, because all that I had done was to move a sandbox to draft space, and then the sandbox was reused for another cruddy draft, and then that cruddy draft was tagged for deletion, and then I suspected sockpuppetry, and reported it badly in the middle of the night. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:04, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ummm, there is some stuff in your user space that needs attention and progressing. (That's as close to subtle as I get) Cabayi (talk) 19:18, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Goodbye article[edit]

User:Coolmarc has proposed deletion on Goodbye and then redirected the article without proper census. The song has charted and he still says no. What do I do about this? DarklyShadows (talk)

User:DarklyShadows - I have removed the PROD because that can only be applied to an article once and is for non-controversial deletion. Maybe they don't know that that is a rule about PROD. You removed the PROD the first time, which means that you disagree, so that the deletion is controversial in the sense of requiring further discussion. The next steps are either discussion on the article talk page, or a deletion discussion. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:06, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Petals by Kaija Saariaho - Article Review[edit]

Dear Mr. McClenon,

I understand that my article Draft:Petals (music) still has some room for improvement. Kaija Saariaho is one of the most prominent contemporary composers in the world (having even won a Grawemeyer Award in 2003). Because of that, any piece she writes immediately acquires relevance and notability. How can I better show such notability in the article? Furthermore, you state that my references aren't reliable yet they come from Edexcel's (and other A Level exam boards') marvelous teaching resources. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

--Raeshouse (talk) 22:46, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Raeshouse - The article that you are asking me about is Draft:Petals (music). In the future, when asking a review or another editor about an article, please indicate the article. Please see the musical notability criteria. Not every song or composition by a notable composer is in itself notable. The composition should satisfy at least one of the musical notability criteria, or it will be redirected to the article on the composer. If you wish, we can discuss further at the Teahouse. Your draft article, Draft:Ute Lotz-Heumann[edit]

Hello, Robert McClenon. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Ute Lotz-Heumann".

Lapablo (talk) 09:28, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Lapablo - You tagged Draft:Ute Lotz-Heumann as G13, an abandoned draft. I see that the last edit that I made to that page was on 5 November 2019, which was six months ago. However, I accepted the draft, moving it from draft space into article space, because Lotz-Heumann satisfies academic notability as the occupant of a named chair. Such a chair is normally established by the gift (normally by the will) of a donor to allow a distinguished academic to continue a career consisting largely of writing or research with reduced needs for teaching duties that are funded by tuition. You tagged the redirect from draft space to article space for speedy deletion. This would only have deleted the redirect while leaving the article appropriately in place. The fact that you were able to tag the draft for deletion, when the draft was a redirect to the article, appears to be an error in how G13 is implemented. I will be inquiring about how this incorrect tagging (which would have caused only trivial harm anyway) happened. I thank you for trying to do the job of cleaning up abandoned drafts. I may have more advice for you in the next few days. It does not appear that you made a mistake; the "system" made a mistake in allowing you to tag a redirect from draft space to article space. Robert McClenon (talk) 12:47, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:Robert McClenon Oh I'm sorry about that but while i accessed the draft page i can assure you it wasn't redirecting to any target if not i wouldn't tag it. There must be an error somewhere, i sincerely apologize. If you check this revision here you will see that the redirect was actually there but i believe it wasn't pointing to the mainspace article and the edit summary says Removed redirect. Best regards. Lapablo (talk) 12:57, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:Lapablo - As I said, you didn't make a mistake. However, the tag is wrong. That is a system-generated tag, being applied by the software to try to tag things automatically. I didn't removed the redirect. I don't know why it says that. There was still a redirect, and you marked it (not the article) for speedy deletion, and I prevented the speedy deletion. The tag was wrong. As I said, you didn't make a mistake, but the system has screwed up. Fortunately, it is not a serious screw-up. Robert McClenon (talk) 13:31, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

article published in WIKITIA[edit]

Hello I have been trying to contact you and this may be the easiest way. You reviewed my article about "Dr Ross Petty" and sent your answer back on May 4th. One of your comments was I should delete some phrases that praise the scientist. I agree with that, however, you also modified the sections headlines and the info in each section. I consider that was ok. The point here is that I found a publication in WIKITIA made on May 3rd, where the information I wrote plus the changes you made, was already published. I don't know how many people have access to my draft while it is in revision, besides you and me. But I found it outrageous that some took my information, not even public yet, and published it in a different page. I am not accusing you or anything like that. My question is, how can that be possible? how could someone from WIKITIA stole unpublished information? Do you have any recommendations on how to proceed?. Could I still publish my article even though the information will be the exact same? Thanks, Im looking forward to your response. LJimenez2004 (talk) 20:57, 6 May 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by LJimenez2004 (talkcontribs) 20:01, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:LJimenez2004 - I will look into this within the next 24 hours. What I can say now is that a draft on Wikipedia is accessible to the public, and so anyone can view it. If someone copied your draft and published it as their own, that would be plagiarism, which is unethical, and I think that there would be a violation of Wikipedia's copyleft. I will answer you more fully within 24 hours. Robert McClenon (talk) 21:19, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:LJiminez - I don't know anything about WIKITIA. If you provide me a link, I can check to see whether they operate under a license that is comparable to that of Wikipedia. I will note that I made very few changes to your draft, but that there was some editing done by User:HSE001. As I mentioned, drafts in Wikipedia, although not considered to be part of the encyclopedia, are visible to the public. Anyone can plagiarize from a Wikipedia draft. You have not answered whether you are employed by or affiliated with Ross Petty. You may ask about Wikipedia policies at the Teahouse. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:55, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Adding on to what Robert McClenon mentioned, I've never heard of WIKITIA before, but do keep in mind that drafts on this encyclopedia are public, and in some cases, there may be external sites that may publish content originally appearing on Wikipedia. These types of instances are out of our control as they are generally not associated with Wikipedia.org. HSE001 (talk) 04:10, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Robert McClenon Thanks for your help. Here is the link of wikitia.https://wikitia.com/index.php?title=Ross_Petty_(pediatrician)&mobileaction=toggle_view_desktop
Answering your question, no, I do not work with Dr Petty. He is well known in the Rheumatology department from BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver. I started the article about him as part of my master program, I have only met him once but he is for sure a remarkable immunologist and physician — Preceding unsigned comment added by LJimenez2004 (talkcontribs) 20:18, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) Wikitia has been raised a few times before. In short, the trademark violations have already been reported to legal. Given they are ignoring the attribution requirement, I've also forwarded a complaint from OTRS to legal about this. This has been raised on the OTRS mailing lists, and you aren't the first to be misled by the site. There are plenty of Wikipedia mirrors out there, but this seems to be a more dubious one. ~~ Alex Noble/1-2/TRB 21:07, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:LJiminez, User:Alex Noble - That is interesting and annoying. The web site does copy the "look and feel" of Wikipedia, which in itself is all right. What is not all right is that, as discussed, they appear to be plagiarizing from Wikipedia. I think that I have answered the questions that were asked of me, and I will let other people look into the legal issues of the plagiarism and copyleft violation. I think that we are over and out. Question on declined submission[edit]

Hi, thank you for your review and feedback on the article on Scantrust. I understand that the submission was declined for lack of notability, however I would like to note that Scantrust was the exclusive topic of at least 5 different articles which appeared in the most read newspapers in Switzerland, e.g. 20 Minuten, Le Temps, 24 Heures, L'Impartial/L'express, HandelsZeitung. A list of the top newspapers in Switzerland can be found here: https://www.4imn.com/ch/

Based on my understanding of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(organizations_and_companies), is my understanding correct that these would pass the notability test as they are all significant, independent, reliable, secondary sources? And if the notability test was passed, is it because there is not a sufficiently high number of notable sources? I would appreciate very much any feedback you have.

By the way, thanks for reviewing my earlier article on Copy Detection Pattern!

Many thanks, Factfox (talk) 17:28, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In the meanwhile I realised that the Teahouse is probably a more appropriate avenue, so I just asked my questions there. Feel free to ignore my above comment and questions. Thanks, Factfox (talk) 22:05, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Factfox - I would normally advise a submitter that I would ask for the advice of other experienced editors at the Teahouse. So I will follow up there, and I agree that that is the right place to ask for feedback. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:34, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Galendalia - What is missing? It appears to use the same templates as the other disputes. I added the other editor just for my information. It looks like another content dispute to me, but I may also be missing something. Robert McClenon (talk) 21:43, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see the summary of a particular editor with the 2k character limit like on all the others. Galendalia CVU Member \ Chat Me Up 22:05, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:Galendalia - I see what has happened. I see what has happened, and it is all right, and it doesn't bother me. When the filing editor enters the names of parties, those sections for their summaries get created by the thing. The filing editor didn't enter the name of the other editor. I entered the name of the other editor manually, but I didn't enter the section thing. So it isn't there. So if the other editor responds, they will respond somewhere. Okay. John Dunning (volleyball) Article[edit]

Hi Robert. Just wanted to let you know that the two issues noted in the comments of the Draft:John Dunning (volleyball) article have been fixed:

1. The candidate (John Dunning) DOES meet the sports notability criteria – he has been a member of college volleyball’s national Hall of Fame since 2011 (footnoted in #8 – Sports Illustrated) and shares a national record (with Russ Rose) for most coaching appearances in an NCAA Division I women’s volleyball championship match.

2. Two national sources have been added: ESPN (footnote #1) and Sports Illustrated (footnote #8).

I've resubmitted the article for review. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by LukeHalpin7 (talkcontribs) 01:39, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:LukeHaplin7 - Please put the supporting information in the talk page of the draft so that it will be there. Robert McClenon (talk) 07:09, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Leaving[edit]

User:DarklyShadows - Please see and consider my comments about inclusionists and redirectionists. Misplaced information[edit]

I believe someone may have misplaced information in which they meant for another dispute. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Queen_of_Hearts_(2019_film). Since I am a party to this dispute, I cannot change it. Galendalia CVU Member \ Chat Me Up 06:31, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Galendalia - If you mean the footnotes, that isn't a bug but a misfeature. The footnotes are at the bottom of the noticeboard, and so they seem to be at the bottom of the dispute. Is that it, or is there something else? Robert McClenon (talk) 06:39, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Probably, the psycho...... notes? Galendalia CVU Member \ Chat Me Up 06:53, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:Galendalia - That's what I said. The notes from the psych dispute. They show up at the bottom of the noticeboard because there isn't a reflist at the bottom of the dispute. That's not a bug, but a misfeature. Robert McClenon (talk) 07:07, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Haha you didn't say psych you just said footnotes. I see what you mean though. Has that been reported to the bug team? Galendalia CVU Member \ Chat Me Up 07:22, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:Galendalia - It's not a bug. It's a misfeature. The system works like that. It's up to the parties in the psych dispute to provide a reflist. (Or it could be up to the moderator, but I don't feel like doing it this morning.) It's working as misdesigned. Robert McClenon (talk) 13:40, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

re comments on Drafts:Sean Quinn[edit]

User:Jules Beaumont - Please discuss on the talk page for the draft, at Draft talk:Sean Quinn (music producer), where other editors may see them. I have corrected the spelling of the namespace. Robert McClenon (talk) 13:37, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article on Adam Schleifer Declined[edit]

Hi Robert, I recently had my article about congressional candidate Adam Schleifer declined because the "Submission is about a person not yet shown to meet notability guidelines." I am a new wikipedia user, and am wondering is you have any advice about how to proceed from here. Is there any way that I could prove the notability of the article by adding more sources, etc., or should I just move on to other articles for now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sshallam (talkcontribs) 19:22, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Sshallam - I would suggest asking for advice at the Teahouse, but I will tell you what I would tell you there. There is a myth that, because drafts are often declined due to inadequate sources, adding more sources will result in a draft being accepted, but this is a myth. Sources are a necessary but not a sufficient condition for acceptance of a Wikipedia article. No amount of (low-quality) sourcing will compensate for a lack of notability. If there are other aspects to Schleifer's career that you have not mentioned in the draft, add them, with reliable sources; but finding more low-quality sources for what you have already described is not likely to help. I suggest asking for advice at the Teahouse, but that is likely to be the advice that you get. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:58, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Great, thank you for the help! I will ask over at the Teahouse as well and go from there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sshallam (talkcontribs) 20:04, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: Daniel Lewis (triple jumper)[edit]

Hi Robert McClenon, thanks for the review 10 days ago. I have probably over-complicated this myself and ran in a circle but I have tried to go back to the original page at Daniel Lewis (athlete) but it redirects me straight back to the Daniel Lewis (triple jump) page.

In any case, my struggle is to try and get this page reviewed successfully.

I have stated in my previous notes that the subject, Daniel Lewis, meets eligibility criteria as he "Finished top 8 in a competition at the highest level outside of the Olympic Games and world championships. Individual events in these championships must contain either several heats or extended fields (e.g., European Athletics Championships, Commonwealth Games, or any of the 6 World Major Marathons)." - this is a quote from the guidelines on the notability of people at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(sports)#Athletics/track_&_field_and_long-distance_running.

If i'm wrong for creating this page do let me know, but I imagine he qualifies as all other athletes in the same final do have wiki pages individually. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Global247 (talkcontribs) 21:11, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Global247 - I am confused. Is there one person named Daniel Lewis, or are there two track competitors with the same name? If there is one person, you have created an article, and it is waiting for review. If so, put that explanation on the talk page of the article. If there are two people, please clarify. It looks as if the draft is redirecting to the article in article space, and that is all right. What is the question? Robert McClenon (talk) 21:53, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nick Robertson[edit]

Hello! It appears you have left a comment on my draft, Nick Robertson, saying that he hasn't played in a fully professional league yet. Whilst that is true, there are multiple players in the CHL who have not yet played in the NHL who have Wikipedia pages, including Connor McMichael and Quinton Byfield. So, to put it in short, I don't think that matters. Nolanisntfunny (talk) 23:37, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I asked the editor about COI, and they've disclosed: [8]. The article seems neutral enough to me, if a little refbomb-y, and the inclusion in practice guidelines seems to indicate notability. I don't have much experience reviewing COI drafts, though, so I'd like to get your more experienced eyes on it. Ready for mainspace or not? Thanks, SpicyMilkBoy (talk) 15:04, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:SpicyMilkBoy - This was a type of so-called conflict of interest that is beneficial rather than harmful to the encyclopedia. The author, as the clinical developer of test, is a subject matter expert. Their involvement must be declared, and it was, but it is desirable. It has been accepted. Can you take over the DRN cases I have? I am getting a lot of crap from admins about participating in them. I would appreciate it. Galendalia CVU Member \ Chat Me Up 23:14, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Galendalia - I will look at your talk page, and will see what needs to be done, but I think that if there is a problem, I can take over the cases. That may delay the cases. We shall see. I will reply further on your talk page. Robert McClenon (talk) 23:28, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have decided to leave Wikipedia and everything is being removed. Everything is on the DRNs. Best of luck.

DRN Volunteer Roll Call - Action Required[edit]

There has been no roll call since November 2017 so with that said, it is time to clean up the volunteer list. Please go to the Roll Call list and follow the instructions. If no response is received by May 30, 2020, it will be assumed that you no longer wish to participate and you will be removed as a DRN volunteer. Request on 15:18:48, 16 May 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by 2020Thomas[edit]

This is a message for Robert McClenon concerning my draft article on "Agoureleo".

Thanks for your comments. Please note 1. Yes, there is another draft article on "Agoureleo", but my submission is not a duplicate of this draft, because my submission has been rewritten for clarity and includes more material. If only one of the two articles is to be considered, then please consider mine, because the other one has not been submitted for review, and I know that its author no longer plans to submit it. It can be deleted. 2. My article isn't meant to be an advertisement. Can you give me any advice on fixing the "reads like an advertisement" problem? 2020Thomas (talk) 15:18, 16 May 2020 (UTC) 2020Thomas (talk) 15:18, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:2020Thomas - Your submission has been deleted. I did not nominate it for deletion or delete it, so if you have any questions, you should ask the deleting administrator. Do you have an affiliation or connection with Agoureleo? If so, you must make the required conflict of interest declaration. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:51, 16 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of AISHL[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on AISHL requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.

Theroadislong (talk) 12:55, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Theroadislong, User:Boing! said Zebedee - Okay. This illustrates why I do not want anyone to remove these Twinkle-generated notices (and no one removed this). After some digging, I see what happened. I saw that page yesterday and so still sort of remembered it, and I didn't think that I had moved it to article space. Indeed, I didn't. I had moved it to draft space. So now, from leaving this message here, I see that this particular SPA has been warned. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:53, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I'm not understanding what's happened here, have I done something incorrectly somewhere? Theroadislong (talk) 16:58, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No. User:Theroadislong. I recognize now that this comment is cryptic. You didn't do something that I didn't want done. I previously asked another reviewer not to remove these stupid Twinkle notices from my talk page about speedy deletion of pages that I had very little to do with, and this is another of those notices. Twinkle thinks that I should be among those notified of the speedy deletion nomination for pages that I may have touched, in particular by moving them. One reviewer tried to avoid bothering me with these messages by deleting one of them. However, I had the email anyway, so that I went to the history of my talk page to see what had happened, and I saw that I was notified, and then the notification was deleted. This doesn't simplify things for me. You left the notice on my talk page, which is what I wanted. But it was puzzling. I more or less recalled the page, because it was only yesterday that I dealt with it, but I thought that I had moved it to draft space, and you had tagged it in article space. So I looked in the logs, and found that, yes, I had moved it from the sandbox to draft space, and the SPA had moved it to article space, and then you tagged it. So I was thanking you for not erasing a stupid message that I didn't want erased (but erasing it could have been a good-faith thing to do). Thanks. It looks like the SPA has been warned. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:54, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ahhh yes that all makes sense now, thank you! Theroadislong (talk) 18:14, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Belkeram/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

SpencerT•C 20:21, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Spencer - Please do not remove stupid Twinkle-generated messages from my talk page. This creates more work for me to retrieve them and determine what they were. I get the email notification and the red alert anyway, even if you then delete the message, so then I look to see what was deleted. After all, it could be someone trying to help me, like you were, but it could be a vandal deleting stuff from my talk page. So don't delete stupid messages from my talk page. I know you mean to make it easier for me. Thanks. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:12, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: Jamie Dolan[edit]

Hi Robert,

Thanks for reviewing my draft, I understand information is lacking in the page itself but I'm just confused as to what you meant by there wasn't information provided which would translate to me producing any notable films that would accommodate being eligible for a Wikpedia Page? 2 of the 3 films I referenced both were theatrically released in the US/UK and one in specific entitled Ladyworld has its own Wikipedia page which I tagged and has my name listed under the producers. And I submitted about 20 references all from the top publications in entertainment media in which they cover me producing these films. These articles wouldn't per se be profiles on me because that isn't as common for producers but I submitted a variety of published articles that are either 1) announcing the film 2) announcing the release or 3) actual reviews from top reporters of the films. All of which mention my name as producer on these projects.

Let me know what I could do to help elevate this page being approved in my case given the above. If any profiles on me come in I will add those but I assumed with the abundance of massive press coverage for my movies that it would do the job. Let me know and thank you for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jafilmmaker23 (talkcontribs) 04:08, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Could I get your input on a genuine first article?[edit]

Hi there @Robert McClenon: A while ago you were good enough to check on an article I was doing on an Australian MP, but as you pointed out, it was really only a new section. So, I've tried a very small article on something completely different - a minor broadway actor. It's my very first from-scratch article. (I plan to do some more complex ones later, mostly in the history and politics space.) I've put the draft on my sandbox at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Erasmus_Sydney/sandbox would you mind taking a look? Erasmus Sydney (talk) 04:32, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Erasmus Sydney - Next time, please spell my name correctly (even if my gggf couldn't). Anne Horak Gallagher? What you need to do is to have a section listing her roles. Please read acting notability guidelines one more time. The usual basis for acceptance is that the person has had multiple roles in notable films or productions. That is shown by listing the roles with links to the articles about the films or productions. If you can do that, the draft should normally be accepted. I didn't review the draft in detail, but I would have an easier time reviewing it if it had a list of roles. That is what to do. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:02, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Robert McClenon: thank you.Erasmus Sydney (talk) 20:38, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Robert McClenon: okay, I've taken your advice and done the list of roles - I decided to base it on table list structure used in the article on Ann Reinking (also a Broadway dancer, though Reinking's is far longer, as hers has been a more significant career). If you're okay to give it a glance you'll find the sandbox draft here. Thank you! P.S. I fixed that misspell of your name. Very embarrassing. My apologies. Erasmus Sydney (talk) 05:30, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Robert, it's been a while. hope you are well. Would it be useful to MfD this as WP:ARTSPAM or am I being overly deletionist again. Cheers, --Deep fried okra User talk:Deepfriedokra 10:03, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Deepfriedokra - The real question is whether there is any reason to keep this thing. I see several reasons to take it to MFD. One is that it is article spam and has marginally escaped G11. Another is that it is an autobiography. That is not in itself a reason to delete; it just makes other things worse. A reason is that it was submitted and declined six times, which I think is enough resubmission to qualify as tendentious. In my opinion, but this is only my opinion, the sockpuppetry would in itself be reason enough to delete it. So: Is there a reason not to request its deletion? If there is a reason not to delete, that can be argued at MFD. I say submit away. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:53, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Robert. There already exists an article about this person as Charles Hazlewood. The creator of the draft is Hazelwood’s wife (see my user talk page and her Teahouse posts for more) who is trying to update the article about him. Although I’m sure she means well, she’s not too familiar with things Wikipedia and thus may misunderstand the purpose of a Wikipedia article. It might be the case that the article needs some updating, but perhaps that is something better left to someone without a COI to sort out. Marchjuly (talk) 17:02, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Marchjuly - I am a little confused, in that it appears that you are trying to tell me that the article already exists, when I declined the draft because the article already exists. Is there something else that I should know? Are you telling me that I should have done more research before declining the draft, or that I should have done more research after declining the draft? Or are you asking me to look at the discussion, which I will do? Robert McClenon (talk) 17:08, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies for any confusion. When I started to post the above, you apparently were in the middle of declining the draft. I saw that you moved it to the draft namespace, but at that point you had yet to decline it. My post wasn’t intended to imply that you had done anything wrong; it was just to let you know that the article already existed. — Marchjuly (talk) 17:20, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, User:Marchjuly. You may have been too quick to let me know what the system was going to tell me anyway. It tells me if there already is an article. It also tells me other things. It does seem that Henri doesn't understand how Wikipedia works. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:27, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I am sorry for the vandalism I did. I only did it so I could get a screenshot and show to my past PE teacher from childhood, who always told kids he went to the Olympics in 1996 (he didn't). I thought it would be do that and send it to him. I realize that that was irresponsible. One more thing: I am embarrassed to say I also vandalized another article, that of Michael J. Knowles, the political commentator. I think I am blocked from editing now (rightfully so), so if you could fix that edit that would be great.

I'm not sure if this is the correct way to respond to your comments, if not please forgive me. Draft:Jose Perez (actor)[edit]

I'm also unsure of the proper etiquette here but I'd like a clarification. I understand that I have not included many references but are you actually saying that a person who acted in 5 Broadway plays, 19 movies and 7 different TV shows, with appearances on multiple episodes (up to 26!) on 3 of them, including playing a leading role (as God, no less!) in a TV movie and resulting series isn't "notable" enough, or are you just saying I haven't documented it well enough? Perrydigm (talk) 22:43, 22 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Perrydigm - I will take another look, but I think that my question had to do with the quality of the documentation. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:39, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Robert McClenon. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Express Zip File Compression Software".

TheImaCow (talk) 09:41, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I already know about it, and will have to research it to verify that it was just a stupid Twinkle message. So don't erase it, although you mean to do that so it doesn't bother me. Am I clear? About Talk:13 Reasons Why#Season 1 and Season 2 that discussion that you started[edit]

The editor who started the Draft season 1 article is a possible sock puppetry. Three of the accounts are new accounts who only weigh in on that discussion and are saying fairly the same thing. Two of the account claimed to be administrators when they are not administrators. All their User bios say the about the same thing and look very similar. The possible puppet is desperate to split them into season articles. — YoungForever(talk) 06:16, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:YoungForever - I will look at whether I agree that there is sockpuppetry. Robert McClenon (talk) 07:29, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting. Yes. I requested the SPI. Robert McClenon (talk) 07:43, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
They are officially confirmed to be sock puppets I just saw the SPI closed by an admin. — YoungForever(talk) 22:17, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:YoungForever - Thank you for saying that the feathers needed microscopic examination. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:32, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I was going to file a SPI myself, but I wanted to get a second opinion before I file one as I have never file one before.  It looked like a duck to me. — YoungForever(talk) 14:47, 27 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The editor is back and the season articles may need to be WP:SALT as consensus was reached already to Split to List of episodes. The editor may still attempt to recreate the season articles again. — YoungForever(talk) 05:05, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rejection of Dianoia (journal) page[edit]

Greetings!

I am not sure if I am sending these comments to the correction location, but I've done my best to meet your revisions.

1. I have rewritten the page to be in compliance with wikipedia's copyright rules

2. Concerning guidelines for notability of the journal, we meet all three:

Criterion 1: The journal is considered by reliable sources to be influential in its subject area. All of the sources that I cited in the article are from reputable university libraries and esteemed magazines.

Criterion 2: The journal is frequently cited by other reliable sources. We are considered by the Boston College Chronicle, The Heights, The Boston College Libraries, and numerous other university libraries around the world. I have provided citations for all of these on our page.

Criterion 3: The journal is historically important in its subject area. Dianoia is one of the most important undergraduate philosophy journals in America presently. Not many journals publish the work exclusively of undergraduates, especially in philosophy, and the diversity of cited articles demonstrates just as much.

Hopefully this helps and I've submitted my comments to the correct place.

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice[edit]

Hi Robert McClenon, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.

Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.

To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!

Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)

Hi, just a note, this draft is about a different person than Matt Williams (rugby player), who is 31 years old. I closed the AfD on the latter, and whilst that was closed as Keep as he is notable, the Matt Williams in this draft is probably more notable (has played at a higher level). For extra confusion, there's another Matt Williams who is probably also notable [9] and is Director of Rugby at London Scottish (the same club as the player who currently has an article). Not sure what the best plan is - I was going to disambiguate the Draft one with "born 1998" or something, as the article isn't very good and isn't really ready for mainspace. Any ideas? This is my second attempt to leave a reasonable and highly informative response on your talk page which is allowed. You or somebody else have erased my initial response simply because he didn't like it. You might or might not like my response but erasing it is called censorship and it is not welcomed on Wikipedia. Whoever removed my reply please in the future kindly refrain from exercising pure and blatant censorhip when you don't like the comment. The comment is raising resonable questions which shold be addressed in a professional manner rather than ignored or deleted. The first deleteion marks the first fact of censorship towards me and my comment on yor talk page. If it will be done on a second occasion then the trend will be established. You recently rejected my legitimate, informative and well written article about the Indian female philosopher Avyar. You failed to come up with a single explanation on why the article was rejected. I took a look at the articles you created and it is beyond my understanding on how they were allowed to be approved on Wikipedia. Do you call a poorly sourced and written collection of words about Bile (Irish legend) an article? You referenced Encyclopedia Britannica without providing a link to the material so anyone can verify that information. You listed the same link twice in a list of references which is unacceptable. Then you listed two modern books with several sentences about the person named Bile (Irish legend). Who allowed this so-called article with almost no sources to be on Wikipedia? Is this a notable topic? No, it's not. Is it a professionally written article? No, it's not. Is it well-sourced article? No, it's not. Then who are you to judge my well-written, highly informative and important article with all the references provided in a professional way? The Cat 2020 (talk) 21:45, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that you also ask at the Teahouse whether the policy Wikipedia is not censored has to do with removal of material from talk pages. Robert McClenon (talk) 23:53, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You have written on my article's page that, "This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia." This statement is factually incorrect and misleading which was proven by the works cited and references. The notability of the topic was clearly established by the article and its sources. Another user expressed his opinion on the issue and pointed my attention to several sentences which required correction. I have rewritten them and I would have resubmitted my article but your factually incorrect statement is preventing me from proceeding. No other major issues were found in my article by another user who have made a thorough review and analysis. The Cat 2020 (talk) 15:00, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New information about Bile (Irish legend)[edit]

The article about Bile (Irish legend) can be significantly expended by adding some relevant information from the following source "The Phoenician Origin of Britons, Scots & Anglo-Saxons (1924 - 1st. edition)", page 89. The Phoenician Sun-God was named Bil or Bel depending on the transliteration. You can even dig some more information in this source and make your article even more informative. Essentially we are talking about a King who took his name after the Sun-God. There were many such kings in the history and that's why it's always hard to separate Gods from real Kings or persons. It's a part of a mythology as a whole and in the past myths were always universal in nature. This point must be always taken into account. The Cat 2020 (talk) 18:18, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Undisclosed financial article[edit]

Hello, I would like to answer your question regarding the undisclosed Financial article that I made for Freek.

I haven't and will not be paid or receive 1 cent for this article or any article I have previously published. I live in the middle east and artists in this region are not getting the exposure that they deserve. I take it on my self and use my time to promote art from the middle east. Freek for example is one of the fatest growing artists and he deserve to be recognized.

I hope that answers your question.

If i need to edit or change anything in my article, please let me know,

Hello. I am responding to your message on my page regarding my Operation Bootstrap submission. You mentioned that my submission was a duplicate, but from what I understand the earlier submission was deleted. That is why I submission a second updated submission. This submission has more citations. If it has not been deleted and the submission is still active, I have not been able to access it to update it. Also you mentioned that the subject matter was written from the organization's point of view. The organization closed back in the 80s long before I graduated from high school, I am not connected to the org and I am not writing on it's behalf. Can you share more specifically what part of the article you are referring to? You also mentioned that the organization was not notable. An episode of PBS's Lost LA was devoted to telling the story of this organization and the organization has been written up in news papers such the LA Times, New York Times, Washington Post. A UCLA film was made about the organization and it was featured on PBS's Black Journal in 1969. In the second submission I cited a few of these sources, but if you need more I can provide plenty. Does those references not make it notable? Operation Bootstrap was the parent company to Shindana Toys, which has a wiki entry. Operation Bootstrap was an important and significant institution in Los Angeles and Shindana went on to have significance nationwide. How can I produce a successful article for this organization. Tropical Cyclone yearly articles[edit]

The issue is that nobody has really taken the yearly articles to their full potential. The creator of some of them was indef blocked for numerous issues, which halted them. 2018 forward are in decent shape for the list part. What everyone doesnt understand... these articles are meant to:

  1. Display the cyclonic activity on a global scale and highlight the top storms for the year (met or impact)
  2. Discuss the global atmospheric and hydrological conditions across the various basins in NHEM and SHEM that influence formation or lack of
  3. Discuss the effects of tropical cyclones on a global scale

Those are a few purposes of the article besides just listing all the storms. Im sure there could be more items in the future, but that was just what kind of came to be when these were created. Let me know what you think. NoahTalk 22:02, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

During the dispute, you offered assistance to formulate the RfC appropriately. Unfortunately, I don't have the experience to do that myself since the content disputed is huge. "If you are here with a comment about the process itself, it would be a good idea to post it at the dispute resolution talk page to get the comments of other volunteers also." I don't think this is necessary in this particular case. Copyvio rewrite temp pages[edit]

Hi, Robert McClenon, how are you? Just wanted to say: our copyvio blanking template creates links to a dedicated rewrite page, normally at Talk:Foo/Temp, but for drafts the link leads instead to Draft talk:Bar/Temp (please don't ask me why these things happen, they just do). If you happen to come across such a page, please don't move it to a more usual title – the admin or clerk reviewing the copyvio listing will only look for a rewrite at that specific address. Only mentioning this because you moved Draft talk:Shlomit Yanisky-Ravid/Temp, which later ended up in mainspace with a good deal of copyvio still intact (all sorted now, I think). I see your name everywhere, steadily making Wikipedia better – thank you for all that you do. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:40, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Justlettersandnumbers - So does that mean that those temp pages are in quarantine? Okay. If so, I will treat them as if they have the coronavirus and leave them alone. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:41, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's perfectly OK to edit such a page, just not a great idea to move it to a different title. If the rewrite is acceptable it gets moved over the problem "parent" article, and if not, it gets deleted; it's strictly temporary in either case. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:36, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! The author of the above draft posted a sort of help request at the Teahouse, and I took a shot at improving the draft. I added some good sources. Noting in terrific depth, but the facts are more or less all verified. I also removed all of the LOC catalogue entries that were clouding the sourcing, as all they really offer is some minor facts. Could you take one last look at it and let me know what you think? I have the feeling that it just marginally makes it, but you would have a much more valuable opinion on that than I would. If it does not make it, the draft is toast, as there is probably nothing more to be found. ThanksThatMontrealIP (talk) 23:31, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

He spent 10 years in this job, he had roles in so many movies, He worked with the biggest arab directors. He was also a music producer that worked with the most famous artists from the us and all over the globe, You can verify that , the achievements he did are noticeable. I put additional references in the draft of Adam Karim . If it is not enough , tell me what I should improve. The draft I made is well done and describe everything the neutral way. I followed all the guidelines given and I made sure that the references given meet the criteria for notability.

I haven't looked at the citations carefully. Citations are the hardest part of writing an article. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:47, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: RMR[edit]

Thanks for Robert taking the time to review this Creation. I did believe the musical notability requirements were well met, citations were provided included the non-trivial and independent LA Times, and well-regarded Rolling Stone magazine that wrote dedicated articles about the artist, as well as social media platforms such as Hypebeast. I have since added confirmation that the debut album ranked 17 on iTunes in America upon its release. The article also confirms the artist's label is Warner, a major publisher of music. Would it make a difference if I add more Citations to demonstrate Notability ? I don't believe the article reads as a Directory, perhaps this is a function of the content being kept to a minimal ?

New Page Reviewer newsletter June 2020[edit]

Hello Robert McClenon,

Your help can make a difference

NPP Sorting can be a great way to find pages needing new page patrolling that match your strengths and interests. Using ORES, it divides articles into topics such as Literature or Chemistry and on Geography. Take a look and see if you can find time to patrol a couple pages a day. With over 10,000 pages in the queue, the highest it's been since ACPERM, your help could really make a difference.

Google Adds New Languages to Google Translate

In late February, Google added 5 new languages to Google Translate: Kinyarwanda, Odia (Oriya), Tatar, Turkmen and Uyghur. This expands our ability to find and evaluate sources in those languages.

Discussions and Resources
  • A discussion on handling new article creation by paid editors is ongoing at the Village Pump.
  • Also at the Village Pump is a discussion about limiting participation at Articles for Deletion discussion.
  • A proposed new speedy deletion criteria for certain kinds of redirects ended with no consensus.
  • Also ending with no change was a proposal to change how we handle certain kinds of vector images.

Your draft article, User:SolanaM/sandbox[edit]

Hello, Robert McClenon. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "sandbox".

JMHamo (talk) 09:29, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"Chances" draft consensus confusion[edit]

Following your comments about the "Chances" draft last December, I put up a discussion on the talk pages of DNA and Backstreet Boys in regards to the draft being moved to mainspace or redirected. I only received one response so far, who stated that they favored the move, which I felt was not enough for consensus. I was wondering if one user in favor of the draft being moved would qualify for consensus, given that both articles do not have much talk page activity, and instances of past discussions closing with limited participation of users. If not, should I move the discussion to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Songs instead? Also, the original draft editor created a new article directly copied from the draft, with the title not adhering to naming conventions and disregard of previous comments. Is there anything I can do about this? — Angryjoe1111 (talk) 18:25, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 22:29:58, 19 June 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Tiffany.ngan[edit]

Hi Robert! I just would like some more guidance as to how to write this article from a neutral perspective; upon reviewing I didn't find any biased or promotional language and I would be happy to change that, I just don't know what is coming off as not neutral. Leopold Ružička - DRN[edit]

Hi,

I just checked the page, in the closure it is written I "did not respond three days after being asked to respond", although if you check the "Summary of dispute by KIENGIR", I immediately responded when the thread was opened...(KIENGIR (talk) 10:10, 20 June 2020 (UTC))[reply]

AUTOPATROLLED[edit]

Hi, how can i access AUTOPATROLLED rights? Baran Ahmet (talk) 17:52, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Baran Ahmet - Ask that question at the Teahouse, but I think that the answer is that you shouldn't worry about that. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:57, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation[edit]

Hi Robert! Thank you for your help. I am hoping I did the disambiguation code at the end correctly. I tried to avoid confusing Joseph Kramer (aka Joe Kramer) with the Nazi version of Joseph Kramer :/ Thank you again for your help! Ruby — Preceding unsigned comment added by RubyFll (talkcontribs) 15:03, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:RubyFll - There almost certainly should be a disambiguation page, but I will look at that soon. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:02, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation for Matthews (2017 film)[edit]

Hi Robert, thanks for your comment on my article draft. I am brand new to Wikipedia. You said in a comment "an entry will need to be added to the disambiguation page for the primary name. The disambiguation page for the primary name is Matthews." Is there something I need to do to my article regarding this? Thank you. Kep1hc (talk) 15:24, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Kep1hc - The disambiguation page already exists. If your draft is accepted, an entry can be made in the disambiguation page by the reviewer. My comment is a note to another reviewer more than to you. What is important to you is my concerns about the infobox and the references. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:56, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vladímir Hirscher page in English[edit]

Good day! Vladímir Hirscher is a well-known artist with ethics a lot of notable-by-contemporary-criteria ones would envy for "human," "humble," and "talented." I have been following applied artists for more than 3 decades now, and he is one of the few who did not and does not answer pre-set interviews and paid offers or cross-promotions, nor looks out for those. Being sincere, too many pay for promotion and the time when people will invest genuine effort in mirroring one's artistic value objectively is still to come. I understand that Facebook is not a good reference but it leads to the artist's work and a picture is worthy 100 times the words, so it is up to you to re-analyze the situation here and tell me what is to be done. Only for information, the article is rewritten from the Czech language. Wrapping up all this, what is to be done so that the article is finished and I do not have a "dead" link into his father's one? Thanks! Marespw (talk) 05:20, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good day again! I know you are prioritizing content but would like to remind you about my article here as well. Thanks. --Marespw (talk) 00:52, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Possible COI with submitted biography[edit]

Greetings! I am responding to a question about possible conflict of interest with the biography of Caroline Rose. I do not have a relationship with this person, nor am I being paid to edit the page. I deeply respect the ethical expectations for Wikipedia pages. This person is an important figure in the design of the original Macintosh and has been a vital force behind the recognition that technical writing can play an important role in software development. As a woman in technology, she has never received anywhere near the respect she deserves. If I have included something in the text that seems improper, please let me know what it is so I can delete it from the draft. I am semi-retired and plan to continue authoring Wikipedia biographies of people who are deserving but have been overlooked for some reason or another. Previously, I authored Ed King (activist) and currently planning a biography page for Keith Ohlfs, an important figure in interface design who recently passed away at the age of 50. I'm looking forward to hearing from you so we can resolve any issues. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Postsingular (talkcontribs) 01:02, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I will copy your disclaimer to the draft talk page. McClenon mobile (talk)• —Preceding undated comment added 02:34, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate it, Robert. Is there any way I can identify the sections that are being flagged so can remove them? Nothing looks obvious to me. Postsingular (talk) 16:39, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Siege draft[edit]

  • Hi! Please see the comment at my talk page! Thanks! Jovanmilic97 (talk) 06:24, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • An update on this whole mess: I have reverted the draft back to the version after my cleanups (which is neutral in tone, albeit a bit lacking it content). Could you check it now? I don't want to re-accept anything at this point, so an other reviewer's opinion like yours would be nice. Or maybe I should do a copy and paste creation of the article to avoid any previous COI edits in the article space? Regards, Jovanmilic97 (talk) 12:20, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You declined this a long time ago. It has resurfaced and I've had a shot at a half decent draft article name. I concur with your comment. I'm reasonably happy to accept it and let the community decide, but that also seems a waste of a load of AfD editors' time and effort. What are your thoughts, please? Fiddle Faddle 19:21, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved for the moment. Fiddle Faddle 21:22, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:Timtrent - Yes, That was a longer time ago than I thought you meant, although not so long ago that I was dealing with dinosaurs. (In the late twentieth century, dinosaurs was a term used to refer to old large computers, typically by those who worked with smaller more compact computers.) I see it is declined for now. Way way back I used to program a big brute with less power than my phone has now, in Burroughs Extended Algol. I have oddly fond memories of the user interface being a deck of cards and a printout. Happy days! Fiddle Faddle 21:39, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your Observation on the Draft Evans Akanno[edit]

Hi Robert McClenon, Thank you so much for your professional feedback on my AfC which you suggested seems praiseworthy rather than neutrally written and, that it should be reworked. Secondly, you were also suspicious if there is any 'Conflict of Interest' issue and that I should make a declaration. As you put it:

Does the author of this draft have any sort of financial or other connection with the subject of this draft? Please read the conflict of interest policy and the paid editing policy and make any required declarations.

Let me start by saying clearly and categorically here to you that I have no conflict of interest. I don't know this person that I decided to write about and never met him or anyone that knows him and I don't have "any sort of financial" connection with him. I researched him and presented the information I uncovered in reliable secondary sources. I must admit I'm not a professional editor and I welcome feedback and suggestions from pros on how to better present articles in Wikipedia in the most objective manner. I write in Wikipedia voluntarily like everyone else and would love to see Wikipedia respected. However, it's surprising for me that you suspected if I am being paid and I wonder how much someone can pay to buy me to spend my precious time to write for him on Wikipedia. Nobody even knows I write in Wikipedia and I don't consider myself a professional PR promoter. I have read around Wikipedia about this issue since the whole of yesterday and I came to understand that some people might actually be doing just that. I therefore commend you and people like yourself for being vigilant for such abuse. Bravo! On the issue of 'praising' the subject of my article, I must say that I will try to rework it as you instructed. Thanks for your feedback and please keep up the good work. RfC[edit]

Hi! Once again I wanted to thank you for your advice and disposition in the dispute resolution noticeboard. I have made some comments regarding the RfCs proposals, and was wondering if there could be any additional imputs before a request for comment is started. Please let me know if I can help in any other way. Best regards! --Jamez42 (talk) 13:08, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
