Welcome![edit]

Hello, Rogalendingen, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Heather Currie, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at the our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions ask me on my talk page or you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! AntoineHound (talk) 01:44, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Heather Currie requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Women in Red[edit]

Hi there, Rogalendingen, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to have another Norwegian who is ready to translate articles from the Norwegian wiki. I see you have already created two biographies and are keen to create more. If you haven't already done so, you might find it useful to look through our essays, particularly our Primer for creating women's biographies. Please let me know if you run into any problems or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 09:18, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Maria Olsvik[edit]

You seem to be getting on fine with this but your draft could use some copy-editing to improve its English. I don't want to interrupt you or cause edits conflicts so let me know as and when you'd like any assistance. Andrew🐉(talk) 14:42, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've made a start on the DYK nomination. I'll have to review another article as a quid pro quo but, as a newcomer, you won't have to do that until you've done 5 DYKs. Andrew🐉(talk) 15:53, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's great, thank you! I think the sentence should be updated a bit though since she didn't actually play any matches, she was just called up. I think something similar to "Did you know that Maria Olsvik got called up for the Norway national team for the first time 14 months after giving birth?" is more accurate. Can I change the sentence myself by just editing the page? And are there stuff I should take into account, like is that sentence too long? Rogalendingen (talk) 16:13, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You can edit the nomination page. If there's a problem with a hook, the normal process is to suggest an alternative, marking it as ALT1, ALT2, &c. so that there's clarity about the text of the different versions. See Template:Did you know nominations/Veronica Volkersz for an example of some discussion and alternatives. Andrew🐉(talk) 16:34, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have done the QPQ and suggested ALT1. This seems adequate so we wait on a reviewer now. I'll keep an eye on the article and maybe do some more copy-editing. Feel free to get in touch as and when needed – the DYK process can take some days or weeks to complete as there's a long pipeline. Andrew🐉(talk) 17:34, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Maria Olsvik[edit]

On 15 June 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Maria Olsvik, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Maria Olsvik was called up to the Norway national football team for the first time one year after giving birth? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Maria Olsvik. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Maria Olsvik), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hello, Rogalendingen,

Do you still need this page or expect to use it again in the future? Maybe it could be archived to a WikiProject subpage. Liz Read! Talk! 08:00, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz Maybe archiving it under WikiProject Biology would be suitable, but I don’t know how to do it. And since I haven’t come across this before, is that something we typically would do with event pages after events that only run once? Rogalendingen (talk) 20:23, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women.
