I viewed the television episode cited in the section on typecasting and Gordon Jump. It is from the series HARRY O and the episode is Anatomy Of A Frame. In the episode Gordon Jump plays against type, here as a drug kingpin. STP43FAN (talk) 17:11, 30 June 2022 (UTC)

We need secondary sources for analytical or evaluative information, like whether a role constitutes typecasting or playing against type. Oh wow!

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention via this edit. It feels so good knowing that they are finally going to release the unreleased Kirshner material from January and February 1967. I just wish that Micky Dolenz would add his vocals to 'I Wanna Be Your Puppy Dog', 'Love is on the Way', 'Sugar Man', 'Poor Little Me', 'Black and Blue', 'Eve of My Sorrow', and 'The Love You Got Inside'.

But if that never happens, then at least we'll get to hear those tracks in instrumental form. I've already made my own concept of what could have been released as the Monkees' third album instead of Headquarters. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 01:59, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Thank you. What’s frustrating about that whole melodrama between The Monkees and Kirshner is it was completely unnecessary. They could have easily worked together (Kirshner in particular). STP43FAN (talk) 16:00, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Kirshner was definitely fired at the right time. As Headquarters is definitely a better album than the one that Kirshner had planned for them. I feel that for two albums at least, The Monkees made better music independently than they had under Kirshner's control.

Then once they started recording most of their music as solo artists, the quality of their average music just slipped over. And paled in comparison to the music that had been released on their first four albums. Though they still had some great songs here and there, the number of great songs decreased while the number of average songs increased. While I agree that Kirshner was fired at the right time, it would have been nice to hear what the album Kirshner planned for them would have sounded like, had it been completed.

Hopefully now that the backing track for 'Sugar Man' has been released, people will finally realise that it was the song that Michael Nesmith had declined to record and not 'Sugar, Sugar' as widely believed. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 02:27, 3 January 2023 (UTC)

The “consensus” edits are factually inaccurate, made in bad faith, and are projectionist instead of engaging with points made by Mr. Ngo He is not a social media influencer and has repeatedly and successfully rebutted accusations made against him. “Right wing” is projectionist implying ideological motives that only exist in progressive ideologies STP43FAN (talk) 01:43, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

You're quite welcome to engage in discussion on the talk page if you disagree and think you have reliable sources that might sway consensus.
