Nintendo Welcome Message Box Template

Hi! I went ahead with your proposal at WT:NIN and created the Nintendo Taskforce welcome message which looks like this:

Join the Nintendo task force!

Hello, Salvidrim and welcome! You are receiving this message because we noticed your excellent work on Nintendo-related articles. We need your help at the Nintendo Task Force! There is still much work to be done, so feel free to head over and help us enhance the quality of Nintendo related pages on Wikipedia!

    • Well, the fact that it's Tailsman, yes, he's made that obvious, but I meant what is he waiting for you on? Sergecross73 msg me 16:12, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
forgive me for editing again,THE Letter to Mezemike,I have been wait lifetimes.74.163.16.224 (talk) 16:32, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
There's no way in the world that any sort of letter you'd write would change anything, let alone that mess you wrote on one of your IP's talk pages. Please, just move on. Sergecross73 msg me 16:38, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Again sorry,my talk isn't with you Serge, you have no fate in me(told you Salv >->),I just want to know what Muzemike said.74.163.16.224 (talk) 16:43, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Hey, just trying to help you out, so you stop wasting your time. I'll let Salvidrim handle it from here... Sergecross73 msg me 16:50, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
I can see that but I want to get back to editing peacefully.74.163.16.224 (talk) 17:07, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Letter has been sent when I said it had. I have no control over whether he decides to follow up on it or not. Salvidrim! 17:05, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

Isn't he right next door can't you ask him if he got it?T-T 74.163.16.224 (talk) 17:07, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)For what it's worth, I'm not initially buying this, but I'm also willing to give second chances. If I were you and were serious about being a positive contributor, here is what I would like to see you do. First, create an account and edit only with that account; no more IP-hopping. Second, focus on constructive editing, fixing things like grammar, adding reliable sources, etc.; stay out of talk page discussions for a while, at least until you get the hang of things. Third, seek the guidance of an experienced editor; Sal would probably be a very good choice for you. If this message Sal sent doesn't work in your favor, there's always the standard offer. Lastly, keep in mind this: second chances are often LAST chances around here. Editors will only stick their necks out for someone so many times, lest they affect their own credibility here. --McDoobAU93 17:33, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
I don't expect you to >->.98.71.50.213 (talk) 16:17, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Just to be clear here, so I don't come off looking like the heartless bad guy not giving him a second chance: He has been given many chances, (User:Salvidrim/Tailsman67 indicates he's been blocked at least 7 times now). And the only time he shows any sort of remorse is when he's under another block. This is why I say "don't hold your breath" in regards to any more chances or reactions from Admin. (That, and the indef community ban, also stated at the link above.) Sergecross73 msg me 17:46, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Hoping I didn't insinuate that you were coming across that way, Serge. And you're right, this has gone on long enough. That's why I said that the surest way to prove his sincerity is to do something he's pointedly avoided doing ... being tied to a single account. --McDoobAU93 18:10, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
No no, definitely not, I meant it more for the random passerby, Salvidrim's other TPS's, or any Admin who may come by. (Sorry, I had tried to make it sound like I wasn't arguing with you personally or anything...) Sergecross73 msg me 19:09, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Okay that is enough,first off,I don't TPS,second,com down.98.71.50.213 (talk) 16:15, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
TPS means "talk page stalker", and it wasn't an accusation towards you, it was in reference to people like Salvidrim, McDoob, and I, who commonly respond on behalf others on their talk pages, in order to help. Not directed at you at all. Sergecross73 msg me 16:47, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

I can't get an account ,why get an account if I'm not going to be here long.98.71.50.213 (talk) 16:20, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Unless all of your blocks keep you from creating an account or something, there's no reason why you "can't get an account". And there is zero cost, and very little time required, to get an account, so it doesn't matter how long you intend to stay. (Unless, it's because you don't have any intention to actually contributing to the project. But then I'd question why you're here even now.) Sergecross73 msg me 16:47, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
You don't understand.98.71.50.213 (talk) 16:52, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
No, I don't, and I haven't heard a rational explanation from you about it yet. Is this going anywhere? Or are we all going to have to ignore you until you get blocked again? Sergecross73 msg me 16:56, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
LET ME...put this in a stupid simple way for you to understand, let this soak in your brain.I can't get an account(let it soak) ,why get an account if I'm not going to be here long(now take a deep breath).98.71.50.213 (talk) 17:00, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
I'm going to assume, by this conversation then, that you have no intentions on contributing anything constructive to Wikipedia. And thus, this ends our conversation. Sergecross73 msg me 17:08, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
If you got that from that your crazy I want to edit good for the time I have left.98.71.50.213 (talk) 17:28, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Barnstar

The Surreal Barnstar
Hey, just thought you deserved a barnstar. Just recently read Animate's comments towards you in the conversation about alternate usernames. I thought his comments were way out of line. I hope he didn't dampen your spirits. You are a great editor who contributes a ton to the project. Thanks for your hard work. Sergecross73 msg me 14:34, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
  • *shrugs* His points weren't exactly invalid, which is why I did heed them. Thanks for the encouragement; my slower editing these days isn't due to lack of interest, merely to pure and simple lack of time. :) Salvidrim! 15:16, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
    • Okay, I was just checking. I find it disheartening when good editors are chastized for things that are more about opinion and preference than policy or guideline. Sergecross73 msg me 15:20, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Dispute Resolution IRC office hours.

Hello there. As you expressed interest in hearing updates to my research in the dispute resolution survey that was done a few months ago, I just wanted to let you know that I am hosting an IRC office hours session this coming Saturday, 28th July at 19:00 UTC (approximately 12 hours from now). This will be located in the #wikimedia-office connect IRC channel - if you have not participated in an IRC discussion before you can connect to IRC here.

back time

Sorry for editing.Salv is it a good time to come back or wait another week or month or so?74.163.15.108 (talk) 17:24, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

You have an ongoing rangeblock until 27-Sep-2012, any attempt before that will automatically extend your blocking period... after that we can talk on my page. Salvidrim! 17:32, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Random comments

  • Thanks for the help with that troublesome user on my talk page. With the help of you and Sjones, he's now been indef blocked.
  • I see you created Legasista. I just enjoyed coming across that, seeing someone else besides me creating an obscure JRPG article! ^_^ Sergecross73 msg me 13:54, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
  • I don't think JRPG games released in North America really qualify as "obscure" (especially compared to JP-exclusives), but yes, Legasista isn't getting much press despite a cheap PSN release. Sometimes I try to look up recent-ish games and don't find a page, so I just create it and hopefully it sparks enough so that others will come by and improve it much further. :) Salvidrim! 14:02, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
  • To me, it seems like anything that doesn't have the name Final Fantasy, or have Nintendo as a developer/publisher, tends to fall into obscure in my book; it seems NA/EU just doesn't care about JRPG's anymore, which is a shame because they're one of my favorites. Anyways, back on topic though, I can try to add more reception to it later... Sergecross73 msg me 14:21, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
  • A number of Nintendo-published JRPGs are still very obscure, however. :p Salvidrim! 14:22, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Ah, but these WERE released on this continent. ;) Salvidrim! 15:25, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
  • My stance was supposed to be that even JRPGS released in NA/EU seem to be obscure, unless they're FF/Nintendo related. Maybe I didn't write that correctly up there. None-the-less, while our criteria for a game being labeled "obscure" may be different, it doesn't seem to matter. ^_^ Sergecross73 msg me 15:35, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
  • On a side note, I find it ironic that a game titled "Radiant Historia" seems to be quite "obscure". :p Salvidrim! 15:52, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Yeah, I was really shocked I was the first one to create that article actually. It was before I created many articles, and it seems like it was just a little before the game's release, and I had been reading a ton about the game, yet it still didn't have an article... Sergecross73 msg me 16:10, 6 September 2012 (UTC)

When I asked to re-ass, I excepted some comments about them regarding future improvements

Otherwise I'd do it myself how I felt it fits. --Niemti (talk) 02:29, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

Have you considered Peer Review? It is the most common way of getting feedback. While C-Class does have a set of criterias that have to be respected, it is not as in-depth an assessment as B-Class and up and doesn't normally involve much in the way of discussion; the reviewer just checks against the requirements and promotes or doesn't. When/if going for B-Class, the thread on the talk page will include a full review against B-Class criterias, and guidance as to how to improve it to B-Class should the article be deemed to fit the criterias. I'll be happy to check the articles against B-Class criterias, however I may not have the time to see them all through, so you may be better off requesting a full-fledged B-Class assessment, start the thread, and have a reviewer post their opinion rather than waiting for me. Cheers! :) Salvidrim! 02:34, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

I don't know if you agree, but I support A-Class for Yuna (Final Fantasy). --JDC808 16:59, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

I also support Curse of Enchantia and need a second opinion about importance level for DayZ. --JDC808 05:08, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

RE: Tetris and whatnot

Thanks for your comment on my talk page. One of the main reasons I create articles is in hopes that maybe it'll be helpful/interesting to someone, so I'm happy that one of my articles at least indirectly did that for you. Thanks! Sergecross73 msg me 04:05, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
