Thanks for adding NBA Teams Player Stats[edit]

To @Sandman766: Thank you for adding the player stats to certain NBA Team Season pages. Although, I would prefer it if you wrote the statistics in alphabetical order by the players last names to match with the other teams Wikipedia pages. Thank you and take good care.

NFL career statistics[edit]

Hi Sandman. Thanks for all the work you've done regarding the stats for the NFL players. Just to give you a heads-up, I've been editing several of the players you did (keeping it lower case) for the headings. This is to keep it uniformed with the hundreds of other NFL pages. For example it will look like this: NFL career statistics and Regular season. Stay well and I'm sure I'll see you around. Regards, Bringingthewood (talk) 01:33, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for using lower case. They look great. I fixed a couple of the disambiguation messages you received for 'tackles'. I put the link in there that you can use. Check out: Lamar Chapman. Also, I put the statistics in column order, instead of a row. You must have seen this already, it's easier to add and amend stats when they are in a column. Such as: Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila. Thank you again for what you did. Bringingthewood (talk) 03:59, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Again, it would easier for all if the stat parameters were in column form. Another editor could come by and revert what you're doing. Bringingthewood (talk) 06:09, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm using the same template that you recommended for Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila so I don't understand what the issue is. Sandman766 (talk) 19:55, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The Career statistics/Regular season look great. I was talking about the statlabels and stavalues that show up as a long line, instead of in column order. If you check out what I edited here: Ahmad Merritt regarding the 'columns order'. If you started doing the columns today, that's fantastic. I edited 13 players last night when I sent that message over to you. Bringingthewood (talk) 21:57, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'm editing one right this second. Jason Lamar looks like this: |statlabel1=Games|statvalue1=5|statlabel2=Tackles|statvalue2=3}}. One long line put under everything else. I'm going to fix this and move it to under the highlights, the same way it's portrayed on the Biamila page, and a thousand other pages. Bringingthewood (talk) 22:04, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, that makes more sense. I wasn't sure what you were referring to. I know I added some of those stat labels but there were a bunch that I didn't touch so that is why I was confused. I will look for that on the pages I edit from now on. Sandman766 (talk) 05:18, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
HA, I thought I may have been saying it the wrong way. That sounds great, I'm glad we got that all settled. Thank you for the response and I'll see you around. Regards, Bringingthewood (talk) 05:38, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You might see my name making some minor changes. For example, Lynn Scott. If there is statlabel/statvalue 1 there, no need to have several parameters in between before adding statlabels #2 and #3. All parameters have an order. Here's a template - Template:Infobox_NFL_biography#Parameters_and_instructions. Happy Thanksgiving. Bringingthewood (talk) 04:42, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Are you going to tell me that you didn't know what I meant with the parameters. I sent you the TEMPLATE!! Why are you doing what you're doing? I'm correcting this s*** every other day. This isn't a joke. Bringingthewood (talk) 02:29, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't want to revert some of what you did, but it's a slap in the face when we agreed on what to do ... and then you just throw the parameters out there with no regard, like you knew I was going there to correct them. That wasn't fair. I contacted another party to look in on this. I tried to help, you know I did. Bringingthewood (talk) 02:57, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. This is what I will do. From now on I won't add anything to the infobox on any pages I touch. Mind you most of the time I'm not anyway and when I do I try to follow the template on what I am adding. I'm assuming a majority of the pages I edit are already not following that template, so you are getting mad at the wrong person in those cases. The reason I was confused on what you were talking about to begin with, was because I wasn't even touching the infobox on the pages starting out. I will just add the career statistics section from now on. That is all I'm interested in doing anyway. Anything you want a certain way, you can take care of yourself. Sandman766 (talk) 06:45, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I just want to add that nothing was done with malicious intent. I would add some things in the visual edit screen, not the source edit and therefore it would be added in random spots. If I didn't remember to fix those in the source edit then that is where the issues came to be. Also there were a lot of edits you did that had nothing to do with what I added or changed to the page. "I contacted another party to look in on this." Seriously? I am contributing to the pages I'm editing by adding the career stats section. If the fact that some things were out of order in the infobox is a reason to try to get me banned from editing pages, I feel like that is a bit over the top. Sandman766 (talk) 09:01, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You know what, just do what you want to do. I never said you did something maliciously. Maybe it's easier to add something to a page and not put it in the exact order, I get that, as long as it's there. I'm all for fixing it up. What caught me off guard was that when I sent that template with the order ... the next day certain parts were somewhere else. You didn't do some of the high school deals, I know that. But Jimmy Farris, Troy Evans etc. when stat parameters are sandwiched between NFL and PFR and you were the last to edit, am I seeing things? You definitely know where to put the parameters and I sent a template. Wouldn't you take it as a slap in the face if I ignored what was sent over in a nice way? I ended it with Happy Thanksgiving ... not do it or go **** ********!!!! You're taking this personally and that wasn't my intent. You do a lot here, I'm not going to stand in your way. Adding numbers[edit]

Hi Sandman766. Thanks for all that you're doing, it's greatly appreciated. A few months back several editors got together and came up with a safe time to wait before calling a player former. While this has nothing to do with you, it's just with some players they may still be free agents, and there would be no number to add at the present time. This is just a heads-up in case you see me remove numbers and leave an edit summary like this: 'Removed numbers for now. He's still a free agent, normal waiting time is roughly two years from last transaction (signed, released, placed on IR etc.) It's nothing personal and it's fine with me if you continue to do what you do. When I see something that has to be changed I'll do it. I won't revert your edit, just amend where applicable. Thanks again for adding all the stats and U.S. to the pages. Regards, Bringingthewood (talk) 22:40, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bringingthewood. Appreciate the head's up on this. Hopefully you haven't had to change too many of these that I have done. I've tried my best to be mindful of this in my latest updates/edits to pages. Please let me know if there is anything else that comes up that you think I should keep an eye out for. It appears to be the case that some editors don't think that career highs should be included in the stats section. I'm not entirely sure if that is the common thought or not. If you could let me know if there is an agreed upon method to this, similar to the "2 year rule" regarding the labelling a player as former, that would be extremely helpful. I don't want to add any additional work for anyone out there. Again, appreciate the help with this. Still new to the editing of pages so any guidance is helpful. Sandman766 (talk) 03:41, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Sandman776. You're welcome. Not at all, you're doing great! Trust me, I know what you mean, it was easier looking at 2021 and changing them. But I got where they were coming from regarding current news. I'll keep an eye on the 'career highs' status. If a consensus is reached, I'll come knocking. The only part of career highs that I see really not necessary would be games played/started. Kind of .. I don't know. I appreciate your mindset, if others believed that way it would make life easier. Sometimes it looks like when bored .. make a new rule! If I hear any news, I'll drop by. This link here, Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_National_Football_League you might have on your watchlist already, it's informative. Some things being proposed, archives of some that died on the vine etc. Well, have fun and keep doing what you're doing. P.S. Thanks for adding U.S. to the infoboxes. Much appreciated! :) Regards, Bringingthewood (talk) 20:50, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Johnthan Banks[edit]

I would hate to see your hard work go to waste, but I know there are a few editors who may delete the stats you entered and/or say that his career highs aren't necessary because there's not enough data to designate career highs.

Appreciate your help, just didn't want you to waste your time and keep an eye out. ParXivalRPT (talk) 00:17, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Underlining?[edit]

Curious what the underlined number indicates in the table you added to David Beverly today meant. Didn't see that stated in the legend. Best wishes, Zinnober9 (talk) 03:15, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
