Disambiguation link notification for March 16

Hi. When you recently edited NetIQ, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page IT (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Edit warring

Hi, with regard to your warning on editing Al-Jazari, user:Kiaxar has been blocked for edit warring, but still continued to revert using a couple of IP's here and here while blocked. Despite the talk page for the article and the reliable sources provided, s/he insists on his/her opinion. That's why I had to revert. Anyway, reverting and IP edit is not considered edit warring. furthermore, I didn't break the 3RR policy. Thanks. عمرو بن كلثوم (talk) 14:59, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I've warned Kiaxar too, though it's only a guess that all of the IPs are actually from that editor. But if as you say above Kiaxar is IP hopping for sockpuppetry, then you are breaking the rule in spirit if not in letter. There must be a better way to resolve this than continually reverting back and forth. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 15:03, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Multiple Accounts

Hi. I wanted to stop by to ask a quick question. Is there a reason you change accounts every few months? TNXMan 15:41, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Would that be a problem? Scopecreep (talk) 15:42, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
Not as long as you're aware of our policy regarding multiple accounts, specifically the part that says: "Using a single account maintains editing continuity, improves accountability, and increases community trust, which helps to build long-term stability for the encyclopedia." TNXMan 15:49, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
Having a read of it now, thanks. Scopecreep (talk) 15:53, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Shaahin Cheyene

The Wikipedia page for Shaahin Cheyene needed improvement. Grammar was poor, sentence structure was poor and in some places it was wordy. I am researching and rewriting the article. My goal is make sure that the information follows the Wikipedia guidelines and at the same time is concise, objective and not unnecessarily provocative.

Ultimately I want the page to be cleaned up so that there will be no issue with Wikipedia's content policies.

Staceymont (talk) 21:32, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

I'll reply at the article's talk page. Scopecreep (talk) 10:02, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your kind comment. Best regards from the Argentinian city of Bahía Blanca :-)

Not removal of content

I'm surprised by your reversion of this edit [1] as vandalism. It looks like a reasonable restructuring.Would you be prepared to self-revert this [2] notice? Thanks, NebY (talk) 16:37, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Eek. Yes, you're right, I completely missed that he had moved it further down the page. I've just apologised at the anonymous editor's talk page, and struck-out the level 1 warning. Thanks for pointing it out. Scopecreep (talk) 16:46, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
Oh good. Maybe it shouldn't be so welcome to see something resolved well and quickly - but it is! NebY (talk) 21:27, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

Speedy declined

I have declined the speedy deletion nomination of Leadership styles. The prior article was written seven years ago. The current article, although with the same title, approaches the topic differently (at least from what I can tell from the prior AFD). If this article is to be deleted (and I am presently ambivalent about that), it deserves its own AFD. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:17, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

OK, that makes sense. Thanks for letting me know. Scopecreep (talk) 18:19, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

Nikolai Kurbatov

Hi. I really want to know what should be written in my article to an article not been removed. Thank you, N-k90 (talk) 05:34, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I think I might have been wrong to propose it for speedy deletion, as the article does make some claims of notability. I'll remove the deletion tag, but it will need good references to show why the subject is notable: please see WP:Reliable sources. At the moment it's only got a link to his entry in IMDB, and that's not considered a reliable source. There's also no indication of whether the films and television shows he's worked on are notable: please have a read of WP:CREATIVE for more information. I would also strongly recommend that you not create articles about yourself, as others have already said at your talk page. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 06:56, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, i'll try to do something. N-k90 (talk) 07:10, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
I corrected article. I hope, now it is more important. N-k90 (talk) 08:08, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for the help! I hope, this article will not been removed. N-k90 (talk) 09:35, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
I added a needed citations to sources and i added a references on my works. Do you can now delete this comments about a citations and other? N-k90 (talk) 14:24, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your work on this, but none of the citations in the article come from WP:Reliable sources yet: please also see WP:External links/Perennial websites. The references don't have to be in English: Russian would be fine, but they need to be reliable. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 14:29, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
Ok. I added a links on blog of Andrei Rusanov, director and producer of Ars Nova, where he say that i am author of trailers for Bez muzhchin and Dom. And i added a link on kinopoisk.ru, where written that i am author of V for Vendetta trailer. N-k90 (talk) 15:05, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
By the way... "Self-published or questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves, especially in articles about themselves, without the requirement that they be published experts in the field, so long as: the material is not unduly self-serving; the material does not involve claims about third parties (such as people, organizations, or other entities); the material does not involve claims about events not directly related to the subject; there is no reasonable doubt as to the authenticity and source of the material; the article is not based primarily on such sources." According to this, i think this article can be on Wikipedia. N-k90 (talk) 15:42, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi. I added information about "The theory of global balance" with the source. I can delete this message about a deleting now? N-k90 (talk) 08:56, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for adding that, but writing a book about something doesn't autmatically make the author notable. Have a read of WP:BIO and WP:CREATIVE for more info. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 09:49, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

And trailer directors are actually nowhere to be consecrated in the media, except in rare cases in IMDB and LJ. So Reliable sources result is virtually impossible, but it is a very important job, because trailer directors create advertising, which depends on the box office and deserve to be on Wikipedia. N-k90 (talk) 09:54, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
Yes trailer directors are important, but their notability on Wikipedia is subject to the same guidelines as any film director. Scopecreep (talk) 10:03, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
I agree. Tell me please, where should be published a theory for it was notable? N-k90 (talk) 10:06, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
Well, you could add it to his IMDB page. Wikipedia's notability criteria are different to IMDB's critiera. Scopecreep (talk) 10:11, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
I mean "The theory of global balance". Where should be published this? N-k90 (talk) 10:19, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
I see it's already been published at rusarticles.com. Scopecreep (talk) 10:29, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
In accordance with WP:CREATIVE article may be on wikipedia, because this is - "The person is known for originating a significant new concept, theory or technique." N-k90 (talk) 10:38, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
The article you wrote about your theory shows that you came up with a theory, but not that you're known for originating it, or that it's new or significant. Are there any reliable sources, such as academic journals, where your theory is discussed or referenced? Scopecreep (talk) 10:42, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
At the moment only rusarticles. But I plan to publish a theory in the scientific journal "Almanac of modern science and education" or something like that. N-k90 (talk) 11:21, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
Tell me please, publication of my theory of global balance in the academic reviewed journal "Historical, philosophical, political and legal science, culture and art. Theory and Practice" (this journal included in the list of Higher Attestation Commission) will be recognized as a Reliable source? This is enough for that article existed on wikipedia?N-k90 (talk) 12:57, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

I can't find that journal online. Can you please provide a link, or the journal's ISSN number? Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 12:59, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

ISSN 1997-292X. http://www.gramota.net/editions/3.html. N-k90 (talk) 13:05, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, but I don't see your name in that issue. In which issue was your theory published? Scopecreep (talk) 13:11, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
At the moment there is the theory has not been published. But i am preparing it for publication. By the way, i added a links on kinoafisha.net, where written that i am director of Bez muzhchin trailer and version of the official trailer "Bablo". It will be recognized as a Reliable source? N-k90 (talk) 13:26, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
And i added a link on an official facebook page of the movie "Bez muzhchin", where is a links on trailers, where is my name as trailer director. N-k90 (talk) 13:38, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
The deletion discussion will take about a week to complete, and reviewing editors will decide whether or not the article should be deleted. Scopecreep (talk) 13:40, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
Maybe, if it is decided to remove, you will not delete the article in full, and leave some sections? N-k90 (talk) 04:54, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

I sympathise with your view, but a single link to the website does not make the article about the website. Mtking (edits) 08:46, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

I respectfully disagree. Let's please let the reviewing admin(s) decide. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 08:48, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Shaahin Cheyene Page

Dear Scopescreep, myself and several other editors have worked hard to get the page to be fair, verified and reasonable. The page was a mess when we all started with it. Now it is in the best state it has been. If you have contributions of value, lets discuss. Otherwise we would be grateful if you don't keep undoing our work here. Please stop vandalizing the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Herbaldoctorz (talkcontribs) 15:17, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

What edits have I made to Shaahin Cheyene that you would consider "vandalism"? Do you believe that my reversions of your repeated deletion of referenced content to be vandalism? Scopecreep (talk) 15:21, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Your speedy on Motionsoft Gym Management Software

Hi, Scopecreep!

I've non-admin declined your speedy on Motionsoft Gym Management Software. Instead, I moved the article to the AfC submission area. The page had submission templates on it, but hadn't been through the actual submission process. This is generally indicative of a relatively clueless new user.

I've gone ahead and left a note on the user's talk page, so I'm hoping the submission is cleaned up soon. Sorry for being a nuisance. ~ Matthewrbowker Talk to me 15:29, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

No, that's a good idea, and not a nuisance at all. Thanks for letting me know. Scopecreep (talk) 15:32, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Frank Levinson

Hello Scopecreep. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Frank Levinson, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The original AfD is from 2006. That's six years ago, I think using consensus on this from six years ago isn't reasonable. Thank you. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 19:56, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

OK, that makes sense. Thanks for letting me know. Scopecreep (talk) 07:48, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

About the right of existance of true - Monarch programming

Hello, I have firm arguments for the existence of the Monarch programming article: 1) Let's see Google searching - about 4 330 000 results(0.15 sec). These are written evidence of about 4 millions people who know about term "monarch programming" and who have made articles about it. So you can see that is impossible that the article is original research. 2) http://www.getacd.org/listen_iu5EtbyPNS8/cathy_o_brien_trance_formation_of_america_1_7

these are some of the major independent source of information you can see a thousands of them - some are publish online and they are free. 3)If the facts in these books have been a complete lie why the government agencies mentioned to be involved in such despicable and illegal activities do not start trial against the authors of statements that exposed the as absolute villains? In a Wikipedia article, we need to provide WP:Reliable sources to back up controversial claims. Independence isn't enough, the source needs to be from reliable, WP:Secondary sources. Please provide some, or the article will probably get deleted by an administrator (though I'm not an admin myself). Happy to help you with any of the nuts and bolts of referencing if you like: I've already done a little tidying in that article. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 20:38, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Need guidance for getting editing right. Being harrassed.

I am fairly new to editing Wikipedia articles and am running into several problems. I have read various Wikipedia editing articles. I am specifically trying to get the Shaahin Cheyene article to conform to Wikipedia guidelines. Would you please give me suggestions as to how I can accomplish that in a non-confrontational way. Also, I feel as if one of your editors, AndyTheGrump is harassing me and being quite unprofessional. As I have explained to him, I have no problem being told that I have done something incorrectly. But I do have problems with the sarcasm, lack of professionalism and accusatory nature of his interactions with me. Doesn't THAT violate some Wikipedia rule? Also, if I am told that I have done something wrong, why is it not acceptable for me to offer an explanation for why I did it and why I thought that it complied with Wikipedia's rules? I thought part of the Wikipedia world is to have a discourse about these things. Ultimately, I may be wrong, and that is fine. But I do not see how it is productive to have such an unprofessional attitude about this process. He also seems to be angry with me because so far I have only worked on two articles. I am a full-time wife, mother, writer and designer. I have my own design business and license my art to many companies. While I would like to spend much more time just editing Wikipedia articles, I just do not have the time. However, there are other ideas and articles that I would like to suggest for Wikipedia-- when I get a chance.

I appreciate any guidance you can give me on these issues. Thank you.

Staceymont (talk) 15:53, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

I'm not sure what specific guidance I can offer you on any of those questions, but if you do have any specific questions about how to improve an article, ask away. Scopecreep (talk) 07:10, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion converted to PROD: Swavey

Hello Scopecreep. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Swavey to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question. I would have liked to speedy it, but it's really a neologism, not a piece of music. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 06:54, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello JCD, I thought that too at first, but have a look at Tory lanez: Swavey is their first record. Scopecreep (talk) 09:00, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
Yes, but the article is about the word, not about the mixtape. It's certainly there for promotional purposes, and it's got to go, but I don't think it's speediable. JohnCD (talk) 09:09, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
OK, thanks for letting me know. Scopecreep (talk) 09:09, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

Speedy Delete - Rockford Brewing Company

Hello Scopecreep... After reviewing all policies concerned, I feel I have made a valid strong case to keep the page. At this point it appears the what is in question is the definition of "significant' per Wikipedia, and from the policies I've read, it meets them. I am trying to understand the Speedy Delete process, and have not found how closure occurs, could you refer me? Thanks again.

Theory of global balance

Hi. I can create this article or it will be better, if I wait, while it will publish in academic journal? N-k90 (talk) 09:59, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

You've got the right idea there. Until it started to be discussed by academic historians, the ideas of " a Russian trailer and TV spot director," really don't belong here (including in the article History of the World. Dougweller (talk) 10:04, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion

Staceymont (talk) 23:03, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Yes, you can put in a request for WP:Undeletion, under certain circumstances. I see from your talk page that Excelerol was speedy deleted as blatant advertising, so to avoid it being immediately deleted again you could ask for that to be undeleted to a WP:User subpage, for instance to User:Staceymont/Excelerol, where you could work on it until it was no longer advertising, had WP:Reliable sources showing WP:Notability, etc., and it could then be moved to the article mainspace. Asa Rahmati shahs of sunset

Sir, please note that your article references both Cheyene and Rahmati but nowhere on there does it say that they are married or partners, further the article is from 2007 and there is no current reference to them being in any relationship whatsoever, please remove. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Herbalscience (talkcontribs) 15:32, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

I've restored it: the text of the reference cited says "When documentary filmmaker Shaahin Cheyene and artist Asa Soltan Rahmati decided to enlarge their Venice bungalow four years ago... ...We didn't want our house to be insulting to the people around us," says Soltan Rahmati, whose husband has lived in Venice for 15 years."'.
In case that's a bit too ambiguous, I've added an additional reference, which explicitly states "Her husband, Iranian native Shaahin Cheyene, is an entrepreneur with a range of products, including herbal cigarettes..."

This is an old article dated back to 2007. Cheyene recently posted on his blog that he is not now nor ever married to her.

Removed inaccurate information. Please see new blog post from Cheyene on http://www.darkzess.com/2012/04/reality-tv-gone-wrong-and-who-i-am-not-married-to/

I'm curious, Shaahin: why is it so important to you that this information about you be removed from Wikipedia? And why do you keep creating so many accounts to edit the article about you? And why do you keep removing referenced information about your herbal cigarette business? Scopecreep (talk) 17:46, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

Mr.Scopecreep: My name is Samantha not Shaahin . Lets be polite here.

You can see a further retraction here from the writer: http://www.mikehughes.tv/content/golden-california-persian-perspective

The reason it is important is because wiki should have factual information and not rumors that you think should be on there. It is the job of all editors to maintain the integrity of Wiki which is what I assume you want. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Herbaldoctorz (talkcontribs) 18:49, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

No, I think I could not explain properly. Your tagging is perfect there,Just timing. The tag was too fast! Mercedes Javid

Hi. The only reference to Javid being Jewish is in Charlotte Safavi's blog on the Huffington Post. However, Safavi's assertion was in error. Although I cannot find an explicit statement, it is strongly implied in several episodes that Javid is not Jewish. Towards the end of the Jewish Journal interview she writes: "Perhaps the lesson here is that my son should find a nice Persian Jewish girl so I am guaranteed to not be shipped off to an old folks home". Still, I won't revert your edit, since it doesn't meet the BLP criteria for a potentially controversial assertion. Thanks for letting me know. Scopecreep (talk) 08:14, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Lucy Powell (UK politician)

Hello Scopecreep. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Lucy Powell (UK politician), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not previously been deleted via a deletion discussion. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 13:49, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Hm? :-) Scopecreep (talk) 13:50, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
The previous deletion discussion ended in "no consensus", not deletion. However, I have tagged the article as an A7 speedy deletion because being a prospective candidate for office by itself is not an indication of importance or significance. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 13:54, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
Ah I see: it was redlinked just now, but it must been restored minutes later. Well, Lucy Powell (UK politician) does assert notability, so I've removed the A7 speedy. Perhaps this should go to a second AFD. Could you please move it to Lucy Powell over the redirect? That will simplify things, and no dab is needed. Scopecreep (talk) 14:00, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
Done. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 14:06, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

I'm afraid both articles are almost completely pasted from three copyrighted articles online. Unfortunately, this means they'll need to be deleted immediately for legal reasons. Are you serious about not using other Wikipedia pages as references since there are suggestions to translate some Wiki pages in other languages to contribute? And why did you delete a section that is completely based on a scientific journal article?Egeymi (talk) 20:48, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

I linked the article to the Arabic version: see Help:Interlanguage links. But no, Wikipedia can't be used as a reference for itself: see WP:Reliable sources for more info. And which section did I delete? Not sure what you mean there. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 20:49, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
I added a subsection "His rehabilition". And it was deleted. I will add it since it is based on an article. Thanks.Egeymi (talk) 20:53, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

I am not sure. Something happened, it was deleted. I have added it. I will further add something. ThanksEgeymi (talk) 21:10, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Milton Keynes City F.C., Bletchley Town F.C.

I undid your addition to Milton Keynes City because the material about Bletchley Town belongs in its own article. The amount you addded is disproportionate to the City article, containing info about previous incarnations of Town. The obvious thing to do is to create an article for Town, similar to the one for Wolverton Town. You've been around here long enough to know that it will need citations if it is to be allowed to stand. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 11:18, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

Looking at the history a bit more, I understand why you did it, but I believe that you've reached the wrong conclusion on how to solve the problem. We have many articles about clubs that were formerly notable. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 11:23, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi Is this the correct place to discuss this?

Hi would like to speak about why I think this article should not be deleted. KindyNews is a legitimate publication - just like the Wall Street Journal or the New York Times - The only difference being that it is small and only been in existence for a short time,Is that grounds to remove it from WIkipedia? Also, I have added references etc and the article itself has been careful not to be a "advert" but simply a statement of the publication's existence kind regards Karen — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karenjackman2010 (talkcontribs) 07:19, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of Virtual Center and State Lead Center sections of The Sarah Jane Brain Foundation wiki page

I see you listed your change as "advertisement." Just wondering if you could clarify which part of those sections where advertisement (links etc) as those sections pertain to the foundation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Matthewmo3 (talkcontribs) 15:44, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

Actually the changes I made were deletions of copyrighted text pasted from the group's website, at [3] and [4]. But I also tagged the article with the advert tag, because what's left, while apparently not WP:Copyright violation, is still quite promotional for the organization in tone. Are you by any chance connected with the group? It can be extremely difficult to write objectively about someone or something with which we're connected, especially when it's in a good cause. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 18:44, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

Is it the links or the text in the MAPS Film School page that has it appear promotional? Happy to remove whatever.

Application of Parvaresh Vardy Codes: Guruswami-Umans-Vadhan Expander Construction

I had first written it on the course website in house article https://wiki.cse.buffalo.edu/cse545/content/application-parvaresh-vardy-codes-guruswami-umans-vadhan-expander-construction now I am copying my own article from there and pasting it here. Parvaresh-Vardy codes and list decoder entry is deleted

Hi, as part of our course on "Coding Theory" by professor Dr. Atri Rudra, at State University of New York, at Buffalo, we were required to do a Wikipedia entry on one of the topics on our interest. For that first step was to do that entry in our in-house wiki pedia [5]. I and Aditi did this entry together. Now for make entry on Wikipedia I just copy pasted my part. I think this has caused some confusion.

I want to assure you that I and Aditi are owner of this page. (Both of Wikipedia entries have been deleted). I have added copyleft code

       ©

on that page thinking that it will resolve the issue. Please guide me with what else that needs to be done. I have to complete this entry by midnight tonight.

thanks

Raman Sonkhla (talk) 21:54, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

I see that [6] now carries a Creative Commons License tag, thanks. However that page wasn't really suitable to be pasted into Wikipedia as an encyclopedia article: it's more of set of notes for a mathematics course. I suggest that you use the Wikipedia:Article wizard to write a new article about Parvaresh-Vardy codes, using the course webpage as a reference for that new article rather than the copying the course material in verbatim. Milipol Qatar deletion

Dear Scopecreep, As the organiser of the trade shows "Milipol Paris" and "Milipol Qatar", we had updated information about these 2 events in French language, monthes ago. As we are an international trade show, we need the Milipol Qatar and Milipol Paris pages also exist on Wikipedia, in English language. We saw this morning that a "Milipol" page did already exist, but with wrong information, such as the dates of the next show; it is written "26-28 November 2012", but because of a request from the Ministry of Interior of the State of Qatar, the event has now new dates : 8-10 October 2012. We also wanted to indicate "Milipol Qatar" as title, for a more complete information : "Milipol" is not precise enough for information. Milipol is hold every 2 years in Paris- France uneven years and in Doha-Qatar,even years, under the aegis of the Ministries of Interior of both Countries, France and Qatar.

Please note there is no "advertisement" message : we give facts : our nomenclature (sectors of activity and products), and the figures of the last edition (number of visitors and exhibitors), and our website for more information.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any additive information: Vanessa GALVEZ - Communications Manager - Milipol trade shows.

thank you for your interest in Milipol, All the best,

I strongly suggest that you have a read of WP:Conflict of interest and stop writing articles about your company. Scopecreep (talk) 12:31, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
So you prefer that unknow people write wrong information on Wikipedia, and that the people who own the trademark cannot correct information, such as the dates ?

Milipol (talk) 13:11, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Information should be WP:Verifiable from WP:Reliable sources, yes. But that has nothing to do with your conflict of interest, or the blatant WP:SPAM that you posted twice. Scopecreep (talk) 13:15, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

So please let us at least modify the dates : 8-10 October instead of 26-28 November. Thank you. Milipol (talk) 13:18, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Private Investigator Costa Rica

Why is my page being constantly erased from the wiki? My company is a legal company and I'm not promoting any phone number! Please explain.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjosue17 (talkcontribs) 22:39, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

As noted on your talk page, in some cases you've not said why it's notable, and in other cases it was blatant WP:SPAM. Please have a read of WP:Conflict of interest: I strongly suggest that you stop trying to write an article about your company. If it's notable, someone not connected with it will write a better article about it. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 07:48, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

In regards of my first contributions

Laurahappy85 (talk) 06:40, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Laurahappy85

Greetings,

thanks for finding the time to edit my contribution. I am actually a little in doubt about the logic used behind a contribution since it seems to follow different path with different people.

Please understand that this is my first contribution hence I appreciate a little bit of guidance. Anyhow, I have used a similar contribution as a template for mine

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avepoint

This company has the same format I have used (which you have cut)and uses the same references I have been using for my article (SO far I have used 11 references that ARE NOT personal nor unreliable being well established emagazines and 3rd party company websites, such as Microsoft)

Could you please compare the two article and let me know in which way mine is not worthy to be inserted while the other one stay happily on wikipedia?

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration

Kind regards

Laurahappy85 (talk) 06:40, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Hello, and thanks for contributing. Avepoint isn't asserting any particular notability per WP:COMPANY either, and may get deleted as well. It does have a slight edge in that its software has been OEM'd by two demonstrably notable companies (IBM and NetApps), but I doubt that this confers notability. I'll keep digging for more info. External links

Hi ScopeCreep, I was wondering whether you consider it appropriate to add the external link to the Australian Garden History Society Wikipedia page - I notice the National Trust has done similarly. Many thanks, RamRam2012 (talk) 02:57, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Hello! Yes, WP:ELYES notes that "Wikipedia articles about any organization, person, website, or other entity should link to the subject's official site, if any." So I've gone ahead and re-added that link. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 07:07, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Rikako Inoue

Why is my page Rikako Inoue deleted? You want a source? As a fan of Fairies, I follow their news and I know about the members. The info I added in the page was collected from various live events and TV appearances. The other members' pages are also deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Foreverstorm90 (talkcontribs) 08:44, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Hello, and thanks for contributing. The page hasn't been deleted, but it was redirected by another editor to the page Fairies (band). There were two problems with the page. First, there were no WP:References to WP:Verify the information you collected, and all WP:Biographies of living persons must have references. The second the problem was that there was no assertion of notability of Rikako Inoue outside of her membership of the band. Please do add encyclopedic information about her to the Fairies article: you don't need to create separate pages about all of its members. Thanks! Scopecreep (talk) 08:55, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Croation Spam

Why not just copy/paste the obviously spam translation into the article? Edit: the "translation" tag also implies that this is material that should be translated for the english wiki or moved to it's native language wiki, neither of which is the case here. I don't think we need to assume that an admin must be a native speaker to be able to understand it; I'm certainly not and it didn't take me more than a few clicks to see that it's spam for an online betting service. Human.v2.0 (talk) 14:55, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Pasting in the translation would also be a good solution to the problem, but removing the translation tag with the language attribute means that admins have to hunt for the text: if it's not already online, they then have to work out what language it's in. Also please note that {{db-notenglish}} is only for articles not in English but which already exist on another Wikipedia, and in this case there was no hr:Procenat.com. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 15:12, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
Indrykket linje

I surely hope this is right!

Pilgrimz

THANKS! ...can you add more refrences to the Band Pilgrimz (band) and maby explain why the "PILGRIMZ (BAND)" does not pop up by it self when i search in the wiki-search-thingy?

Best. Jess — Preceding unsigned comment added by JessJessen (talkcontribs) 11:08, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi, yes I'll look for some references. But when you say the the wiki-search-thingy, do you mean the search box at the upper right? If so, then Pilgrimz should auto-complete there in an hour or so: there's something at server-side that gets indexed periodically, can't remember what. But it will appear there soon. If you type "Pilgrimz" in there and hit return, the page you started is the first hit in the resulting search list. Scopecreep (talk) 11:49, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Vandalism of Puddle

You seem to have taken over sorting out that out, and you seem to know what you're doing better than me - I was about to try and ask for help anyway. Cheers. Shall I leave it to you? CarrieVS (talk) 14:40, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

You're doing fine thanks! Let's both continue keeping an eye on it. I can ask for semi-protection if more single-purpose vandalism accounts get created. Scopecreep (talk) 14:42, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Sounds like a good plan. CarrieVS (talk) 14:44, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Just a heads up: got another one: user:Goldenplated01, he's had a go at pond too. I've reverted it all and put a warning on his talk page. CarrieVS (talk) 20:43, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, I've now requested page protection for puddle, and can request it for other pages too if necessary. Scopecreep (talk) 20:48, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Lessac Technologies

Hi Scopecreep. I'm an AfC newbie that just did my first round of article reviews. (I think this is the only one I accepted) Thanks for cleaning it up a bit.

I thought I'd let you know I got a ping from the article author. He/she is interested in improving the article to address the advert tag. If you have time to share your feedback on the Talk page I think the article might end up getting improved as a result. User:King4057 (COI Disclosure on User Page) 21:17, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't understand: according to its edit history, you created Lessac Technologies. Who did you get a ping from? Scopecreep (talk) 21:23, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
I created the article as an Articles for Creation reviewer. You can see the original AfC submission by User:Yoursinbooks here. Yoursinbooks made several improvements regarding peacock words and advert that I think may address the tags. You can also see my discussion with an IP address making edits here. My ping was by email, so I can't say confidently what username was associated with it. User:King4057 (COI Disclosure on User Page) 18:21, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Hmm... I'm not really sure the best way to handle combative situations as the edit warring suggests. But I did my best to purge it (again) of peacock words and similar issues and put up a fresh multiple issues tag pending your opinion. How is Tyler Green the baseball player the "Primary topic"

Hi "Scope Creep", Thanks for editing the disambig page for Tyler Green. I don't understand how you've come to your decision to make one a primary topic, and then to leave the other out? Will you explain? Thanks!--RichardMcCoy (talk) 16:01, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi sorry for the delayed reply: I missed your question in the midst of some others. I chose the baseball player as the primary link, as nearly all of the links to that page were from baseball articles, which is often the case with an older article. But today I've noticed that there's another baseball player, Tyler Greene, and the two will probably need disambiguating. So I've moved Tyler Green to Tyler Green (baseball player), changed Tyler Green to a disambiguation page, and am now going through that list of links, disambiguating and piping. I've also added more links to Tyler Green (journalist). Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 06:52, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
Awesome. Thanks!--RichardMcCoy (talk) 12:31, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

How do I undo a series of edits under the "Ahmad al-Hasan al-Yamani"

Hi Scopecreep, How do I undo the edit made by "Ilikecod", I would like to add his information and his reference as well and merge it with my work, I think this is the best solution and I was going to do it but didn't have that much time on my first edit, if you could show me how to undo his changes or undo it for me I will re-include his work and reference accordingly. Thank you. goamn (talk) 22:56, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

There's info on this at WP:UNDO. However, I definitely recommend that you talk to user Ilikecod first, and try to come to a WP:Consensus on the content of the article: this will help to avoid WP:Edit warring. Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 11:11, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Ok thanks Scopecreep, I have placed an entry in the Ahmad al-Hassan Talk page and also posted on ILikeCod's page asking for a discussion. It is not my intention for an edit war but I wish to incorporate all references and have neutral and fair information. Thanks.goamn (talk) 02:11, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Ruben Bentancourt

Well there are other instances such as these.I can recall that Chelsea player Lucas Piazon page was created just after he signed for Chelsea without making any appearance for them or his previous club Sao Paulo. In fact he still hasn't played a single first team match, only sat in reserve benches.Thank You. Debarghya89 (talk) 13:35, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Yes, in exceptional circumstances, a player like Piazoncan can be notable per WP:GNG if they get a great deal of press coverage before they've played their first professional match. But I don't see any significant coverage of Bentancourt online in WP:Reliable sources: can you find some? Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 13:40, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Well,"significant" is a very relative term. What i understand by "significant" can be very different from yours.Besides Chelsea and EPL are in itself such significant that they get terrific media coverage. The dutch league has little english media coverage. But you can easily find a host of Dutch media that has covered the news well. Thanks,

Debarghya89 (talk) 14:01, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

I'm afraid I can't find WP:Significant coverage in online Dutch media either: can you point me at some please? Thanks, Scopecreep (talk) 14:04, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks!
Thank for you editing the article I started about Evertek. I'm a starting wikipedian. Amejel (talk) 16:17, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
You're welcome! Thanks for the new article. Scopecreep (talk) 16:58, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Hello, could you help?

I've noticed that you are pretty good with all the Wikipedia templ. such as one's used for marking an article for speedy deletion. And due to that I have a question. Could you be so kind and direct me to place where I could learn all or most of them? Or maybe, even better, you could spare a while and type down few most important ones? Thanks. Ravelair (talk) 17:00, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

I'd be happy to help if I can. The best first stop for learning about deletion templates is WP:CSD. It's very important to carefully read and understand the deletion criteria: I certainly misunderstood a few at first. For example, "G1. Patent nonsense" isn't for articles that are so badly written that you can barely understand them, it's for articles containing only somethinglike "ZR ZR ZR ZR WWWWWW!!!". :-) Have a read, and if you have any questions please ask away. Another very helpful page is WP:New pages patrol, which has advice on things like how not to WP:BITE new editors, article namespaces, etc. Again, if any of it's not clear please ask and I'll do my best to help. We're all still learners here though. Scopecreep (talk) 17:10, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

It is because User:Cindamuse, the author of this page, removed the speedy deletion template. A:-)Brunuś (talk) 18:03, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

The article clearly asserts notability. Please stop your abuse of the speedy deletion tags. Scopecreep (talk) 18:04, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
  • I should note that I am not the original author of this article. There was simply an edit conflict during a previous G11 deletion and when I saved after doing some copyediting and cleanup, it recorded as a new article. The article was and is clearly neither an A7 or G11. I declined A:-)Brunuś's A7, to which he re-added the CSD template, contrary to policy. Best regards, Cindy(talk to me) 18:43, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
