Sura[edit]

Can you direct me to the discussion that led to the name changing of the sura? Thanks! gren グレン 18:03, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I can't because there wasn't any discussion. I was prompted to change the Sura titles by the inconsistencies across them (both in the tiles and in the content). Since WikiProject Islam considers the Encyclopedia of the Qur'an a reliable source, I figured that was as good a standard as any to normalize the pages to. Besides renaming the pages, I am also standardizing the infoboxes (which currently exist in a couple of different versions, if they are at all present). I started my little project at Sura 114, and am working my way up (currently at Sura 50). Following that, I was planning on standardizing the lead sections of each article to the same format, and adding an outline section to each. In retrospect, it was brash of me to start making changes without consultation — honestly, the current state of the articles had me thinking no one was actively involved in editing them. If you know an appropriate active forum where I should propose changes let me know. --Shefaet (talk) 22:20, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Assalam O Aleykum Sir i want to join Wikipedia:WikiProject_Islam. Can you please guide me ??? ALI ASSAD (aliassad.1@gmail.com) 13:54, 17 March 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ali Assad (talkcontribs)

Assalam Aleikum
I'm a new WP-ean. Found out that articles on the Surahs of the Quran seriously lack the details of the Quran presents and that you're interested in working on this too. The media is projecting Quran wrongly - the Muslim community seriously needs to presents the actual views of the Quran. Would greatly appreciate your help on the Project Quran!
As the Quran asks us to remind in Surah Qaf: فذكر بالقرآن من يخاف وعيد

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
