Regarding Joe Biden[edit]

He's not President yet, Trump's term expires at noon. The oath hasn't taken effect yet. Thanoscar21talkcontributions 16:59, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please learn the Constitution. 12:00.

IP, cut out the personal attacks. Sky Harbor, you violated 24-hr BRD cycle. If either of you do it again, you can be blocked, especially you IP. Thanks, SixulaTalk 17:03, 20 January 2021 (UTC) EDIT: the IPs comment was removed Thanks, SixulaTalk 17:06, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I will respond to the comments individually here:
  • Thanoscar21 and FSUNolez06: I'm watching the inauguration live, so it perplexes me that the oath was administered early, but my impression has always been that the oath is administered at high noon, so once the oath is administered the person automatically assumes office.
It's all good, man. I'm super excited too! -FSUNolez06
  • Sixula: In my excitement I was unaware that BRD supercedes 3RR. I'll keep that in mind for future events though I don't expect to further edit the Biden article; I shall return to my normal programming of editing articles closer to my area of expertise.
Thank you all three. I hope we can all enjoy this day together. --Sky Harbor (talk) 17:08, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sky Harbor, no problem. The talk page is filled with edit requests, so you weren't the only one. Thanoscar21talkcontributions 17:11, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sky Harbor no worries. Thanks, SixulaTalk 17:33, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:TVP Northern Luzon new logo.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:TVP Northern Luzon new logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 16:08, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kiwi Camara[edit]

Hello! My name is Sarah and I'm attempting to update and improve the Kiwi Camara article on behalf of DISCO. I've disclosed my conflict of interest and posted a link to a draft article at Talk:Kiwi Camara, but I have not received any feedback from other editors even after posting requests for help at WikiProject Biography, WikiProject Tambayan Philippines, WikiProject United States, and the Teahouse. I noticed you're an active editor and WikiProject Philippines member, so perhaps you might be able to help with improving this biography? I've outlined problems with the current article, which is mostly a Background section with two Controversy sections related to the same incident. I have also worked to draft a more well-rounded biography which relies on news organizations more than student newspapers. Do you have a moment to take a look at the request? Thanks for your consideration, Sarah DISCO (talk) 19:51, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How we will see unregistered users[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)
