Content removal[edit]

I have noticed that you tried deleting food and culture section in Triplicane article. Do you find something wrong in it? --Anbu121 (talk me) 18:45, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ya, the content in these sections were wrong.

Food:

I don't think there are all types of restaurants mentioned there. I am in that area for 25 years.

So to my knowledge it's not there.

Secondly, Murugan Idly shop once opened in triplicane high road is currently closed. The shop is no more.

I THINK ANBU121 - YOU HAVE CREATED THE ARTICLE, SO YOU DON'T WANT TO LOOSE YOUR STUFF, SO YOU ARE ARGUING WITHOUT HAVING THE TRUE FACTS. IF YOU WISH YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR STUFF, THEN CARRY ON, I WON'T EDIT IT NEXT TIME.........

ARE YOU THE MODERATOR OR OWNER OF THIS ARTICLE OR GROUP OF ARTICLES/???????????????

Mess culture:

Majority of population is not bachelor. Wrong statistics, I can challenge you by giving correct statistics by filing RTI at Chennai Corporation and getting details. Not all messes have 20 seats, many don't even have seats, most have less than 5 seats. What you have given is wrong data. Not necessarily mess owners migrate and run the mess, its crap. Yet again I can give you lots of examples where your part of the article is false.

Culture: I have edited this section and included more stuff in this section. Previous contents which were there in this section has been continued in this section or other sections. That Madras bashai, lots of languages and all are complete crap. There is no necessity to bring terms like peaceful coexistence, because many controversial events occur during vinayakar chaturti idol dumping in sea events. There is no need to touch sensitive topics in the wrong sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Snokia (talkcontribs) 19:02, 18 March 2012 (UTC) [reply]

I am sorry if you feel that I am unnecessarily interrupting you. If you find something wrong in what somebody else has written, you are welcome to rewrite it in a correct way rather than deleting it completely. The section you deleted had three references to Hindu newspaper articles talking about mess culture in Triplicane. As you are in triplicane, your contributions to the article are really welcome, but please consider writing with reliable sources.--Anbu121 (talk me) 19:18, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For your information, I have not written the triplicane article and not owner of any article. In Wikipedia, anybody can edit any article. No one owns any article, no one moderates anything. But, there are some guidelines on how to write. --Anbu121 (talk me) 19:24, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

March 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Triplicane has been reverted.
Your edit here to Triplicane was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.flickr.com/photos/79428066@N00/3381438918, http://www.flickr.com/photos/48814067@N06/6852395611, http://www.flickr.com/photos/15779226@N00/317079935, http://www.flickr.com/photos/23153230@N00/4374349391) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Watermarking[edit]

Hi,

Great work on creating the image map of Triplicane area. I can see the amount of effort you took to create that image. However, I would like to bring to your notice that there is a policy in Wikipedia about watermarking. You can read it here:- WP:WATERMARK. You have licensed the image under GNU Free Documentation Creative Commons 3.0. A free image should have the name of the creator only in the description summary. It should not be watermarked on the image. Please remove the text "Image created by snokia, wikipedia user, shared publicly on Wikipedia" and re-upload the image. Keep up the good work. I noticed your post on the talk page of triplicane article that wikipedia is cribbing and complaining about the work you do. There is no person officially appointed by Wikipedia to monitor the content of the articles. Every single article in Wikipedia is created by volunteers like you. Everyone in Wikipedia have equal editing rights including the founder of Wikipedia. The quality of an article in Wikipedia goes up when the editing is done collaboratively by multiple people. Obviously, there will be difference in opinion when multiple people edit the same article. This is the reason why policies and guidelines exist in Wikipedia(Even the guidelines are drafted by volunteers). I have notified you many times about policies and guidelines. Please don't think that I am troubling you and that I am against whatever you write. It is only to help you in improving the quality of the article. Thanks, Anbu121 (talk me) 10:07, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to interrupt again, but the image still says "created by wikipedia user shared.....". Wikipedia just enables a person to license an image in an e-format easily. Wikipedia does not own the image. Hence even the word wikipedia should not be watermarked. I would suggest to remove all those lines completely. The image can consist only of map and legend. Any person will come to know that it is a original creation done by you when they read the description summary of the documentation page. Thanks, Anbu121 (talk me) 12:30, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions for Triplicane article[edit]

Hi,

Good job on the triplicane article.

Some more suggestions:-

1) There is huge amount of information about Parthasarathy temple. You can consider shifting all those information to Parthasarathhy temple article. I think 2 or 3 sentences about the temple is enough in Triplicane article.

2)In many places, you have written, "Refer to Hindu article", "Refer to Times of India article". These are actually implicit. When a reference is placed at the end of a sentence, the reader automatically understands that the sentence is sourced from the corresponding newspaper article. These sentences "Refer to..." can be removed.

Response for your abuse on my talk page[edit]

Please be civil (WP:CIVIL) in all your interactions with other editors. I have given adequate explanation in the edit summaries for all the content that I removed. If you are not satisfied with the deletion of any of the information, please post on the talk page of the article. Abusing other users does not help to improve the articles. Removing the content of other users is very common in Wikipedia. Please do not get offended when somebody removes your material. Content in Wikipedia is determined by discussion and consensus ( Wikipedia:Consensus, WP:BRD). Please bring out specific issues on the article talk page, so that we can discuss about including them. Talk Pages[edit]

Please note that whenever you write on talk pages or user talk pages, you must start a section at the bottom of the talk page and write there. Writing on the top of the talk page is seen as a distortion. Also, please add your signature after any comment that you make on talk pages and user talk pages. Signature can be added by using '~~~~' Anbu121 (talk me) 05:24, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The information that you listed as bulleted points are already present in the article. That's why I removed them. Please read WP:PROSE. Information should be presented in only in prose wherever possible. And please remember to write in your own words. Copying from Hindu article and pasting it here is copyright violation. --Anbu121 (talk me) 09:25, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
