Fletch

Hello there. Please clean up your recent creation of Adrian Fletcher (Casualty). You need to find additional sources - the coverage is not broad as all cited sources are Digital Spy articles. Please search Soap opera and TV magazines, Newspapers, news websites, other entertainment websites, BBC Online etc. Please format the references, you did not lay any of the sources out correctly. Best advice - copy and paste the templates out of other Holby articles and adapt them for this article. I tagged "Citation needed" where you forgot to include a source. Please ensure everything is in the correct tense. Please keep sourced content limited to the article and not the lead - ensure the lead fully reflects / summarises the content of the article. Find additional information in your own time. Aside from the last point, if the other points raised are not addressed in some form I will envoke policy and redirect the article back to the list of Casualty characters and request an Admin move the data to your sandbox.Rain the 1 22:31, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

I did forget to mention - I think it is good you are trying to learn more and create content. Just need to brush up on a few things. I sound harsh - but we cannot let these projects slide back into old habits.Rain the 1 22:34, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

I think Fletch's article would have been an ideal candidate for a userspace project. You could have worked on it at your own pace to get it up to the highest standards, before having it moved to the mainspace. I find there's less pressure when you work on a draft in your userspace. At the moment, the article still needs cleaning up. I've filled out the references that have been added, but, as Rain said, it needs more and they should come from other places (Inside Soap is good for interviews). I also noticed and removed one copyright violation, so the article needs to be checked for anymore. If you have copy and pasted something straight from a source that wasn't a quote, it needs to be rewritten or removed. A reception section would also be great, so I'll keep an eye out for anything useful. - JuneGloom Talk 01:44, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi, thanks to both of you for your help, following my creation of Adrian Fletcher (Casualty),

In reply to the comment left by Rain the 1; I have been looking around for other sources. I was wondering if I could swap a source for something that is currently Digital Spy? For example, if a source about say Fletch's departure from Casualty was Digital Spy could I change it to say Yahoo News? I'm also wondering how I look at magazine interviews without having the magazines on me. There is a few Inside Soap magazines I can access but that would be it. I have moved anything from Fletch's previous Wiki section to his new page. I will look for them 'citation needed' tags and look for the sources as I must have forgot to include them. Thanks RT1 for all your help with my article and any further assistance I will be more than grateful for. --18:06, 4 April 2014 (UTC)#Soaper1234 (talk)

In reply to the comment left by JuneGloom; Like I have said to RT1, I have been looking for other sources and was wondering how I would look at magazines without having them magazines. I will look through any Inside Soap magazines I have. I wasn't aware I had copyright-ed. Thanks for that though. I have been looking for "Fletch reviews and criticisms" but nothing has been found unfortunately. Thanks for your help and further assistance I would be more than grateful for. Thank you also for filling in the refs and I will get on with looking for other references. --#Soaper1234 (talk) 18:06, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Yahoo! is a good choice of source. I am afraid you would have to purchase soap magazines. I do and save them up and they always come in use. As already mentioned - write information in your own words - do not copy & paste from other news articles. Use small quotes if any. That way you cannot go wrong.Rain the 1 22:07, 5 April 2014 (UTC)
The Free Library would be a good place to look for reception. I found a few good pieces for Mo Effanga there. - JuneGloom Talk 00:18, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
I have not noticed any improvements being made. Only myself and JuneGloom07 tidying up the mess. Not cool.Rain the 1 19:26, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
Sorry Rain, my brother been in hospital after having a serious turn so I haven't had much spare time to edit Fletch. #Soaper1234 (talk) 19:37, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
Okay. Well I will still redirect the page in a couple of days. You can always return to edit and expand when you have time to edit again.Rain the 1 20:06, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
I noticed there has still been no progress made on Adrian Fletcher (Casualty) and quite a lot of time has passed now. That is such a shame for the character. =Rain the 1 11:37, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

Lomax Family

Hello there. I could not find the photograph but I know which you are thinking of. But unfortuanately, you are creating another mess. I am sorry, but this is just not working at all.

I read the "history" section. And you have violated WP:OR. Let me show you how. I will bold all my comments.

Prior to meeting Sam Lomax (Lizzie Roper), [Prior to meeting, how do we know they were not already acquainted?] Danny Lomax (Stephen Billington) had a relationship [what if it was a one-night stand?] with Pauline Hay (Jane Hogarth) and she became pregnant with Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson). Danny had attempted to make contact on many occasions but Pauline prevented it. Danny then continued to send birthday cards to Ste with his number in, [Danny's phone number would not have been the same for over twenty years but the last card received, yes] hoping one day Ste would contact him. Pauline kept the cards and didn't show Ste any of them. Danny went on to meet Sam and they both fell in love with each other [Again, how do we know the order of events]. Sam, unaware of his past, accepted a marriage proposal from Danny and they went on to have two children, Leela (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) and Tegan (Jessica Ellis). [How do we know they married before they had both children?] They later adopted another child, who they call Peri Lomax (Ruby O'Donnell). [Did they just adopt Peri? Like from an agency? We do not really know anything about the storyline other than they are not her biological parents] They do not tell Peri that she is adopted and make her believe she is their biological child. Danny becomes a drama teacher and Sam becomes a police officer. [So they only decided to get professional jobs after having three children?] As she becomes older, Leela decides to become a firefighter and Tegan decides on becoming a nurse. After becoming bored of being alone when Sam is working, Danny becomes bisexual. [Highly unlikely someone decides to be bisexual one day out of boredom. Billington has previously stated his character was always bisexual when he first met Sam.] It is also shown that the Lomaxes know secret gangster, Fraser Black [You have switched between backstory and storylines, but not made that clear] (Jesse Birdsall) and while on a night out in one of his clubs, Tegan sleeps with him. [How do we know where?] She later becomes pregnant because of this, but doesn't realise this until her waters break.

One of two things happen when you add original research. An unfamiliar reader will read the article and you will influence their knowledge. The only problem is that it filled with factual errors. The second is that someone familiar with the subject will read the article, know that it is incorrect and Wikipedia gets the usual "anyone can edit it, its a load of lies" scenario. This is why Backstories are always sourced.Rain the 1 18:33, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

But you have tried to make a good article here. I should not criticise too much. I am just wary that you will pull another stunt like with Fletch and leave it for someone else to clean up. lolRain the 1 18:42, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Okay thanks Rain. I will answer below

[Prior to meeting, how do we know they were not already acquainted?] - I will remove that bit.

[what if it was a one-night stand?] It was stated they were in a relationship

[Danny's phone number would not have been the same for over twenty years but the last card received, yes] - I will change that then

[Again, how do we know the order of events] - That can be removed

[How do we know they married before they had both children?] - Yes, very good point. How old is Leela & Tegan. Danny & Sam celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary in 2013. If Leela was possibly 20-something then they must have got married after Leela's birth.

[Did they just adopt Peri? Like from an agency? We do not really know anything about the storyline other than they are not her biological parents] Yes - I thought they did but this might've been my mistake.

[So they only decided to get professional jobs after having three children?] I didn't mean that - I meant they, at one point, they got them jobs

[Highly unlikely someone decides to be bisexual one day out of boredom. Billington has previously stated his character was always bisexual when he first met Sam.]' - I can change that.

[You have switched between backstory and storylines, but not made that clear] Right, I will change that.

[How do we know where?] Fraser said; "It was one night of fun in the club"

I can get all this sorted but it is must likely to not be until tomorrow. --#Soaper1234 (talk) 20:04, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

That is okay then. I will check when you have changed it. By the way - JuneGloom previously expressed her concern about copy and pasting large quotes from interviews. I also mentioned this. The content belongs to Digital Spy, they hold the copyright and we do not want any trouble directed to Wikipedia. So you will need to drastically cut them down, use selective quotes and paraphrase. If it was that easy, copy and pasting the interviews, I would be making fifty articles a day.Rain the 1 23:08, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
Okay thanks once again Rain. I thought that if it was an answer someone had given I could use that quote, but I must have got that bit mixed up. Thanks, --#Soaper1234 (talk) 06:43, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
I have now fixed the History section. Hope it is okay now Rain. --#Soaper1234 (talk) 18:13, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
You have added more long quotes after I advised not to. It is not an article - it is a collection of quotes.Rain the 1 21:56, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Re: Boxes

Hi, I recently noticed you added a "box" to List of Tracy Beaker series characters and was wondering where and how you make these as well as how you edit them. Thanks --#Soaper1234 (talk) 15:40, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Hi Soaper1234 To create a Navigation templates you need to just copy the code from another Navigation templates page and create you own for example The Dumping Ground Navigation templates is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:The_Dumping_Ground_Series You may need to change some text field to suit your own purpose. To edit an existing box you should see the letters V, T, E on the top left of the box on any page with a box V= View, T= Talk Page and E= Edit. There is some information https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Navigation_templates but if you need any further help feel free to message me Thanks Kelvin 101 (talk) 16:11, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Hello Soaper1234. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Will Savage".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Will Savage}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 03:51, 17 May 2014 (UTC)

List of Casualty characters

Hi, Just a quick note on the above article. I have changed Zoe's return date to 2014/2015 again, as based on this article, she is back filming already and if she is filming 2 months in advance, she is likely to return during 2014. Thanks. Adamiow (talk) 17:15, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Waterloo Road edits

Hi there, I Just thought id let you know, Series 9 has not finished yet at all, the next 10 episodes are in fact the final installment. Series 10 is only 10 episodes, filmed between May and August this year and will not air until next year. I am fully aware some websites are advertising the next block as Series 9 (i.e. the BBC minisite and Radio Times) but the official Waterloo Road website, and Shed Productions are stating that it is Series 9C (episodes 21-30). http://www.waterlooroad.co.uk/2014/10/01/waterloo-road-is-back/ 80.47.52.235 (talk) 21:28, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
