Proposed deletion of Pride (Living Colour song)[edit]

The article Pride (Living Colour song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references, no claim of notability, fails WP:NSONG and WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. The Dissident Aggressor 20:51, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Blind Idiot God 2006.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Blind Idiot God 2006.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mdann52 (talk) 13:34, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Blind Idiot God 2006.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Blind Idiot God 2006.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. A tag has been placed on File:White Zombie - Psycho Head Blowout.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Desmadrados Soldados de Ventura requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Proposed deletion of Yume Bitsu (album)[edit]

The article Yume Bitsu (album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Four related PRODs: Giant Surface Music Falling to Earth Like Jewels from the Sky, Yume Bitsu (album), Auspicious Winds, Golden Vessyl of Sound. WP:NALBUM#2-#7 aren't met, and it does not appear that WP:NALBUM#1 is met either.

~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 04:20, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Fred Chalenor.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Fred Chalenor.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Majora (talk) 23:43, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Codeine (band) into Stephen Immerwahr. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 21:51, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Painkillers (album), a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 22:27, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Painkillers (album)[edit]

Hello, Soul Crusher. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Painkillers".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Puffin Let's talk! 10:29, 25 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You for Allowing Shit & Shine's Page to See the Day at Last![edit]

I love this band and I started looking them up online as soon as I began listening to their works years ago now. But I was always so sad never to find them on Wikipedia. Of course I should've written the page myself, but I've never done that in my life so far... And I'm pretty sure I would've done a rubbish work back then.

Oh damn, you also wrote all their album and LP pages?? You're amazing. =) — J._Clef

Not a notable album - never charted, no awards or nominations, no substantive national airplay, never performed in a notable media, never the subject of broadcast coverage. Lacks coverage in reliable sources, so generally fails WP:NOTE. Article re-creates a deleted article of the same name.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ΝHΠIAΓΩΓEION: Live in Europe 1988[edit]

For ΝHΠIAΓΩΓEION: Live in Europe 1988, the article name has a mix of Roman and Greek letters to the left of the colon and I believe they should all be greek (so a Greek Nu = "Ν" rather than a Roman N = "N") and so on. I have proposed this at the article talk page and would like your opinion.Naraht (talk) 14:47, 25 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Clay People (album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tornillo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Replaceable fair use File:Faith No Man Song of Liberty.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Faith No Man Song of Liberty.jpg.

Thank you. George Ho (talk) 16:34, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Industrial music albums[edit]

Hi – thanks for your efforts to improve the coverage of industrial music on Wikipedia. I wanted to make you aware, however, that some of your sources don't pass WP:RS and aren't acceptable as sources on Wikipedia. AllMusic is no use as a citation if the entry has no rating or review – if it's nothing more than a track listing and/or list of credits, that's no more than the liner notes of the album give you. The liner notes are useful for information, but don't indicate notability. CMJ music charts aren't considered acceptable national charts, neither will simply a mention of an album in a release section without any review be acceptable. Aiding & Abetting and Sonic Boom were one-man webzines and won't be considered reliable sources. I'm not even certain about ReGen... I know this website has been going for years, and is considered the best source of information for industrial, darkwave, coldwave, etc. but even so, I don't see any indication of editorial oversight and it may well be deemed unreliable by other editors if they look into it. I just wanted you to be aware of all this, so that you can look for better sourcing, otherwise I can see that some of these albums may be nominated for deletion in the future. Thank you. Hi, thank you for all your work on Bob Ostertag‎'s albums. It was long overdue. I see you've added his collaborative albums with Fred Frith to Frith's chronology in some of Frith's album articles, like Live in Japan here. I've always assumed Frith's chronology is for his solo albums only, given his large number of collaborative albums – see Fred Frith discography#Collaborations. Redirects[edit]

Hi, I don't think it makes much sense to create so many redirects for topics that aren't discussed anywhere on Wikipedia, except for being a song writer or performer on a single track of a compilation album. If they aren't even mentioned in the target you are creating for them, it really doesn't make sense to have them. For example, you created a number of redirects to Cleopatra Records, in which the bands or band members aren't even mentioned in the article. It's unhelpful for any reader who may actually search for them, and even more so if they go to an article and think they'll get more about the band by clicking on the link in it, only to find absolutely nothing. Thanks. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 00:31, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You continue to do this. You created Violet Arcana, among others, as redirects to There Is No Time, yet the article contains no useful info about the band itself. Even worse, you add a link to these bands within the article that they redirect to, violating MOS:CIRCULAR. Can I also ask you to refrain from linking countries in the album articles you create. Per MOS:OVERLINK, this shouldn't be done. You are also adding numerous links to incorrect articles or disambiguation pages. I recommend keeping the links down to a minimum. August 2020[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Live Execution a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into LIVE EXECUTION. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Creation of redirects[edit]

Please refrain from creating any more redirects to targets in which the topic being redirected is not even mentioned. For example, you created Heather Thompson (vocalist) as a redirect to This Ascension, but there is no mention of a Heather Thompson within the article. Such creations are inappropriate and your continued practice of doing this has to stop. Thank you. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 17:09, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Template:Collide a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Template:Collide (band).

Thank you.
Information icon Hello. It appears your talk page is becoming quite lengthy and is in need of archiving. According to Wikipedia's user talk page guidelines; "Large talk pages are difficult to read and load slowly over slow connections. As a rule of thumb, archive closed discussions when a talk page exceeds 75 KB or has multiple resolved or stale discussions." - this talk page is 105.7 KB. See Help:Archiving a talk page for instructions on how to manually archive your talk page, or to arrange for automatic archiving using a bot. Linking[edit]

In the article for In Flickers, you linked Martin Bowes. That is obviously not the intended target. These are the types of links you need to be careful about as you do this quite often. Please check every link you add to an article to ensure mistakes like this don't happen. It's helps to avoid circular links as well. It is pointless to add a link to a song on an album article that redirects to that album. Thanks. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 18:27, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your creation of album articles[edit]

Hi. You are creating a significant number of articles for albums that don't have any news sources on them indicating why or how they are notable and warrant encyclopedia articles written on them. Please see WP:NALBUMS before making any further number of articles. Your whole series of articles on Forrest Fang's albums do not appear to contain any news sources on why all of the musician's albums warrant articles or are important, other than your presumed interest in the musician's work. Please only create articles for albums that are notable per our guidelines. If you respond, please reply in this thread. Thanks. Ss112 07:33, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:British industrial rock musical groups requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read!
