The Hunter

Albert King never wrote The Hunter. The song was written by Booker T. Jones, Al Jr. Jackson, Carl Wells, Donald V Dunn, Steve Cropper. King may have played a version but it's not his lyrics. What Mendelsohn said was totally incorrect. ZhaoHong (talk) 05:19, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Feel free to chime in at the article's talk page. - Steve3849 talk 16:00, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi Steve. Apologies for not noticing the page number, which in the citation tag suggested that the book has 35 pages. However, the bigger issue is the phrase "intrinsic to the definition of a forest ecosystem"—what does this mean? That fungi are important organisms in many (all) ecosystems is abundantly clear from the preceding sentences, so unless this brings something new to the table it may be better left out. I have not read the book you referenced, so I'm not privy to its relevance to this field, and I'd suggest you place it under "References" for the time being. The entry is currently being worked on for FAC, hence the pickiness over phrasing and content. Thanks! Malljaja (talk) 18:17, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

I'd really appreciate your input

What do you think of Template:Drug policy? I just created it, but I thought I'd leave it a few days till it goes live, as it perhaps has a few kinks. Such as being a little unwieldy... (please reply on the template talkpage) Anxietycello (talk) 21:38, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

First, I'm no expert on this subject and seeing from your work here it is obviously a vast topic. My impression is that such a template is a valuable resource. I wonder how the various prohibition groups will respond when the wikipedia article that describes their organization includes links to drug related festivals. That aside, I personally would like to see something along the lines of CIA drug trafficking and CIA transnational anti-crime and anti-drug activities because of the intrinsic and immense relationship between global concentrations of power and drug traffic. These articles would be related to the history and politics of drug trade. Policy is at the core of politics. However, the template appears large enough already and your focus appears to be drug specific organizations. Sorry to not be more of help. - Steve3849 talk 01:02, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Deletion review

I have posted a question at Wikipedia:Deletion review#File:Ibn_Shaykh_al-Libi_corpse.png which you may be able to answer. Can you please return to that discussion to answer it? Stifle (talk) 13:13, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Hattersballposter.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Hattersballposter.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:23, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

You know, the Grateful Dead article could perhaps use a section regarding their impact and legacy in the world of jam bands. — MusicMaker5376 20:54, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Your're right. There is just the one line about "godfathers" in the lede which a little quirky and that's basically it. - Steve3849 talk 03:34, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Astralposebw.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 22:51, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Thanks "Destroyer"; gotta keep wikipedia free! Might as well look through the rest of my early uploads from before I understood the importance of permission for wikipedia. There may still be a minor treasure trove of images to offer up to the tireless deletion god. - Steve3849 talk 09:49, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Infobox Color Change

Hi, Steve. I'm currently trying to accomplish what you fought for back in 2007; trying to expand the woefully inadequate "solo_singer" to "vocalist_instrumentalist" for those who both sing and play and instrument. Please see current discussion on Template talk:Infobox musical artist. I am drumming up support for this significant change, and your input would be greatly appreciated. I see that the main rival in your '07 fracas, User:PEJL, is retired as of now. I think it is time to finally set this thing straight... Doc9871 (talk) 06:27, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

about File:NashvilleTeens1.jpg.
I posted many covers years ago and most are now gone. I have joined the wikialbum project and if I do write an article about that particular record I will just scan the cover again. But I appreciate your getting back to me about this. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 01:35, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
