July 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not replace pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to Nick Sarazan, as this is confusing to readers. The page's content has been restored for now. If there is a problem with the page, it should be edited or reverted to a previous version if possible; if you think the page should be removed entirely, see further information. Thank you. Speedy deletion declined: Nick Sarazan[edit]

Hello StilaM. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Nick Sarazan, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. Thank you. Alexf(talk) 20:11, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alex. So what are my options? How can I delete the article? StilaM StilaM (talk) 13:19, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain why do you want to delete the article Nick Sarazan ? --Anbu121 (talk me) 13:24, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The artist feels that his integrity is being violated by the article, and wants me to delete it. StilaM (talk) 13:38, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is nothing controversial about Nick Sarazan in the article. Can you explain what do you mean by "integrity is violated"? --Anbu121 (talk me) 13:44, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your swift response. I am new, and still a bit lost, on Wiki, and wasn't sure you would see this. Hence the text on your talk page as well.

It has affected his business in a bad way. There is also information in the article that he does not wish to be made public. He has asked that I remove all information regarding his bio and art. StilaM (talk) 13:51, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is nothing in the article that is not public. The article more or less contains the same information present in the artist's website artstudiosarazan.com, which is already public. Can you exactly specify, what information in the article affects his business. --Anbu121 (talk me) 14:04, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

His origin is his main concern. But he also does not wish to be present in Wikipedia. StilaM (talk) 15:26, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Articles in Wikipedia are not like pages in facebook where a person wishes or doesn't wishes to be present. Articles cannot be written to the whim and fancy of the person. I can see that you have proposed to delete it through CSD G7. But I really doubt if any admin will delete it, because many other editors have also edited the article. --Anbu121 (talk me) 16:02, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand the basis of your argument. I am not the artist. I wrote the page after having heard of the artist. The artist has contacted me and wants the page to be deleted. I feel awful!

I wrote the original article, and am unable to detect any new information in the article, so whatever edits have been carried out, they are minor, and I don't see how that should matter.

Can the artist himself request to get the page deleted? And how? StilaM (talk) 16:26, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that you argue on the behalf of the artist doesn't matter. Even if the artist himself requests, it doesn't matter according to Wikipedia Policies and guidelines. But here in this situation, the only factor in favor of you is that you are the main contributor of the article. Other editors have made some cosmetic changes. The Speedy deletion CSD G7 that you have nominated seems to be borderline. I can also see that you have requested CSD G7 on 3 June 2012 and it has been rejected. If it is rejected this time too, try contacting the Administrators Noticeboard and explain them clearly that you are the only main contributor and the edits made by other editors are just cosmetic changes. Let an admin judge whether the contributions made by others are significant or not. --Anbu121 (talk me) 16:55, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Anbu121! StilaM (talk) 17:46, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You would have been really under stress for the past 4 hours. I hope you will not leave Wikipedia after this. Anybody can become an editor in Wikipedia. Try contributing to topics of your interest. --Anbu121 (talk me) 18:00, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yup! Not entirely scared off just yet, though. ;) Thanks for your help! StilaM (talk) 17:06, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
