Hey![edit]

As someone who has Yogesh Khandke's talk page on his watch-list, and edits many India-related articles, i would like to leave a message for Superfast1111. This, and you sentence above, where you call an editor disruptive, can be labelled a personal attack. Wikipedia editors should not accuse or label each other using negative words. Disruptive is a particularly strong word. Please avoid calling any editor that. If you persist, and if they object, you may get blocked again. You are doing a good job as a content creator here. Why get into disputes and name calling? This is a good start. Happy editing! I hope you keep contributing positively here. :) Anir1uph | talk | contrib 07:02, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The other user abuses others, talks rudely, demeans others but i guess that should not be considered at all. Anyway, i do try to avoid personal attacks as much as possible but hey i am only human. Fyi, I have filed a request at the dispute resolution noticeboard. Maybe something will come out of it. Do me a favour & look up some of the pages & give me your opinion.
Thank you for looking out for me. I appreciate it.

Superfast1111 (talk) 09:15, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, an editor who has been here for a while will be aware of the limits of his actions. A new editor may not and is more likely to break the rules. I too used to get quite umm excited about content disputes. Slowly I realised that the way this system is designed, if I am factually right, consensus would automatically form, with or with me, and the necessary changes would be made. I need not fret over stuff. I have a self-imposed one-revert rule. If any of my action is reverted, I never undo that. Talk page is the slow but right path for all content disputes. Of course, vandalism has to be reverted! Any way! Lessons should be learnt and such stuff should be left in the past.
I see that at Sinhagad Express you were trying to add an image and change the name of the train to Sinhgad Express, based on that image. First, images are never a reliable source for information. They can be easily edited/morphed. Second, i found here (or direct pdf link) that the train's english name is in fact Sinhagad Express, as originally in the article. Anir1uph | talk | contrib 09:58, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
==============[edit]

I remember exchanging a few words with another editor on that topic but its been a while & i have cleaned my talk page. But i am proud to say that every image i have uploaded onto wikipedia has been taken by me. I was actually passing by at the time & just on an impulse took an image of the train so there is no way that the image has been altered in any way.

More than any suspension period there is something else that has made me feel that i just do what i need to do. To quote an extract from a John Grisham novel Life is too short to despise people who just cant help what they do. I'll just get on with my work, let time take its own course. If i have guys like you & Yogesh watching my back,i'll be all right this time around.

I do need some help with coping data on wikipedia pages to be used like what you have done to guide a person onto Sinhagad Express (the 2013-14 Trains at a Glance). Superfast1111 (talk) 17:30, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It is not about me not trusting you. The editing community does not trust images in general. And for the right reasons. Images are used here to enhance our knowledge of the subject, never to be a source of information. These are general rules that have worked very well overall - this is nothing personal against you, and it is definitely not the case that we distrust you! Your excellent work of uploading original images is what drew me to help you here.
And for linking on Wikipedia, just use the code I used in my last post above. Paste the link you want to post here within single square brackets. For links to Wikipedia article, use double square brackets instead. Or best, use the editing toolbar which shows up when you edit a page - the one which has the buttons for "Bold" and "Italics". The fourth button from the left is the Hyperlink button. You can use that to insert all kinds of references here.
Another word - Bwilkins is a good, experienced fellow. He is always trying to be helpful. It would be wise to listen to his advice. Anir1uph | talk | contrib 02:54, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am trying my best to take in Bwilkins advice. But this time i am more determined that ever that i will avoid skirting the limits. Have made a history addition to Mumbai Central page. Do visit it. I can understand the occasional distrust of images & am glad my it is my image uploads that have found me a new friend. Once again thanks for watching out for me. Where are you residing presently? Superfast1111 (talk) 04:36, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am in India right now. Some where in the north. Some 200 km from Delhi, and some 200 km from Chandigarh. That is all that I will say :D Anir1uph | talk | contrib 05:34, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It was just a general question, no offence intended. Hope you were not anyway. I am presently working on 2 articles for wikipedia. Should have time this lovely Sunday to work on them. Superfast1111 (talk) 05:40, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Superfast1111: Of course not! If you visit my user page, you will find your question already answered there :P
@Yogesh: Thank you :) Anir1uph | talk | contrib 06:36, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Guys, have just created an article on the Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express. Let me know what you think. Superfast1111 (talk) 07:26, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have looked into Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express and made some edits and fixed some stuff. It is a fine article, though it can do with more references. Good work! Anir1uph | talk | contrib 07:53, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A little more help on the Flying Ranee page. I have tried to add a irfca page as a reference but i am have trouble with it. Could you work your magic? Thanks. Superfast1111 (talk) 12:24, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Andhra Pradesh Express[edit]

Hi Superfast1111, Your images have far more EV than mine. Although the pic I put up in the page was of AP express', but it is a bit vague. It could have been any train really. Thanks for informing me. Good day.—Nikhil(talk) 02:01, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No problem at all. But what does EV mean? And if you have the time do check out some of my other uploads. Superfast1111 (talk) 07:01, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • EV means encyclopaedic value. If you have similar pics of Howrah CST Duronto, please go ahead. And regarding the pics on Andheri railway station, I didn't seem to find any messages which talk of disputes about your images. I think they are fine.--Nikhil(talk) 02:03, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have just started on the talk page. But if you look at the history of the page, you will find the comment i am talking about & we have had serious disagreements in the past. The initial image on Andheri was replaced as i managed to take one with a much wider angle & height.

Superfast1111 (talk) 15:24, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Exposure value perhaps? Anir1uph | talk | contrib 08:12, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Buddy.Have created 3 new articles & uploaded several images across the board. Do take a look if you have time. Can you assist me with the Disambiguation link notifications i have received? Superfast1111 (talk) 14:13, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have made some edits here. I think you added the wrong reference webpages by mistake. I corrected them, and also added the wikilink of the correct railway station. It would be better if you can check if you have done some such mistake in other places, but its OK. I am pretty impressed with your image work. Literally hundreds of train images. You must travel a lot! :) Anir1uph | talk | contrib 20:12, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Again at Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express! You really need to go through all your the references you have added to the articles to see if they are correct, and not copies of the wrong ones! Thanks! Anir1uph | talk | contrib 20:20, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reference addition has always been my achilles heal. I have copied a template & then use it as a base for new articles. That's where friends like you come into play to help out with the finishing touches. Have started on another one. Yes i do a fair bit of travelling. So far its been Mumbai to Secunderabad to Pune back to Mumbai to Ahmedabad & back, to Allahabad & back,to Indore & back, to Nagpur & back. Ernakulum & Delhi Duronto are the only two Duronto's left for actual travel then i would have travelled on all the Duronto's out of Mumbai. I have created a gallery at Nagpur Railway station page. Incase you have'nt visited the page,do take a look there. Once again thanks for helping out. Superfast1111 (talk) 05:56, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wow that is a lot of train travel! But friend, you must be very careful about references in future, or your additions may be removed by some other editor, who may not bother to check deeply and add the correct references. Also, you may like to read Wikipedia:Indentation. :) Anir1uph | talk | contrib 14:06, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yeah, its 8500 kms & counting. Fortunately, i am not much into article creation, i just upload images & that has given me enough heartburn. But once in a while, you do feel like creating something. So i'll do what best i can & then experts like you can take over. But i do value your looking out for me. Thanks. Superfast1111 (talk) 15:55, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

May you be safe in your future journeys! And you are welcome :) Anir1uph | talk | contrib 16:10, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can you help me correct what mistakes i am making? I am not sure of what wrong have i done? I want to learn how to correct my mistakes. For the 1st time in years, i have the time to create articles. Superfast1111 (talk) 06:22, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, the talk back notice are placed on the talk pages of other editors, so they can come here. Not on your own! :) Secondly, you must be getting worried about the section titled "Disambiguation link notification for July 21" posted by the DPL bot. That would be clear if you calmly read what the notice says: the wikilink you have added are not specific to a particular city. For example, one of the pages you wikilinked was Ghaziabad. Now this page has 4 possible Ghaziabad-related article. So, the DPL bot is asking you to clarify which one of those 4 links did you mean. So you go to Dehradun Shatabdi Express, where you had added the Ghaziabad wikilink, and correct it. It is not a very big issue. That is all! Anir1uph | talk | contrib 23:16, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have made some changes to the various articles so as to link them to other pages such as railway stations. Do you think this has solved the problem? Superfast1111 (talk) 12:50, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In the article for Dehradun Shatabdi Express, you have solved the problem by correcting the link from Ghaziabad to Ghaziabad railway station. Keep in mind that Ghaziabad should not have been linked as it is a disambiguation page, and had a list of 4 wikipedia article which are related to Ghaziabad.

You need to do the same thing in Vidarbha Express regarding Chandur, Central Railway and Malkapur. There are 4 diffent Chandur in the world, 2 different Central Railways, and 5 different Malkapur. So you need to be specific about which of those did you want to link to. Otherwise other readers will be confused. Anir1uph | talk | contrib 09:02, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have solved this as an example (like this) - you should keep this in mind, and solve these on your own. Best of luck! :) Anir1uph | talk | contrib 11:41, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, so far it looks like if i solve one problem, 2 more pop up but i guess i am getting better at solving problems am'nt i? thnks for the continued help. Superfast1111 (talk) 04:52, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. :) You have also not added any references to Ahmedabad Duronto Express. Anir1uph | talk | contrib 22:36, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Update[edit]

Please see this. I don't know much about what should be in that article, but you seem to have laid out what you think is best at the article talk. That's the right way to do it. You should add your signature there and even consider stating that if nobody speaks up against the changes, you will go ahead and make them.

And please, no more reverting each other. Be patient. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:54, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Anna, thanks for your assistance. It seems to have calmed things down a bit. We seem to be able to be close to a resolution. Thanks once again. Superfast1111 (talk) 06:00, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mumbai - Pune dedicated trains[edit]

I was thinking on the lines of creating or finding a way to group all the six trains that run between Mumbai & Pune onto a single page. Any thoughts or idea on how do we go about it??

Superfast1111 (talk) 16:59, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You may create a list style page titled List of trains connecting Mumbai and Pune. And the train list in the article body. You can have a bullet list by using "*" or a numbered list using "#". Do check if other such article already exist. Then you can simply copy their template. And do consult some more experienced editors, as i am still one of the novices :) All the best! Anir1uph | talk | contrib 17:24, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What he said, a simple list page will do. Just wikilink the trains to main articles. If you wish to, you can add a brief note about every train. Rishabh Tatiraju (talk) 17:56, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As Anir1up says, better look for other existing similar pages first. Am afraid such list will look like a tourist guide and will hence be deleted. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 04:53, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I agree with both of you. Trouble is that i have been unable to come across any such page. The closest thing to that is a remark on Rajdhani Express & Shatabdi Express where there is a line saying that this city is served by maximum number of Shatabdi's & Rajdhani's. But let me try something, the worst that can happen is that it can be deleted that's all. Thanks for your advice guys. I intend to title the page Dedicated Intercity trains of India. Just one step at a time.Superfast1111 (talk) 10:23, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Do you wish to make a list/article of trains between Mumbai-Pune only or a list of all trains? If its later, we already have List of trains run by Indian Railways which might need extensive editing to serve the purpose. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 10:47, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Guys have finally crossed a major milestone. I have posted images on every page covering the entire western suburban rail network from Virar to Churchgate & Harbour Line from Andheri to Mumbai CST. Thanks for your support. Superfast1111 (talk) 05:14, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Jaipur Duronto Express[edit]

Sorry to bother you guys again. But there is a slight problem on the Jaipur Duronto Express. While most of the issues have been sorted out, there seems to be one persistently sticking point on the format of the time table on the page.

I have pointed out to the other editor that both formats of the time table .i.e. what he proposed & what is in current use are across a whole host of pages. He somehow doesn't seem to be willing to concede on this point. Could you guys have a look & lend a helping hand here? Superfast1111 (talk) 13:09, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the talk page, there i already a long discussion going on, and most happily Anna is helping you guys sort this out, so there wouldn't be any problem. I would do what she suggests you to do. And revert less, talk more ;) If both forms of the train time table exist, and you really don't have a problem with the other party's version, then let them keep their version in the article. Your valuable time would be better served by creating and updating more train articles. You do good work here! :) Anir1uph | talk | contrib 19:28, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I commented over there. Thank you Anir1uph for the compliment and good advice to Superfast1111. Indeed, Superfast1111, compromise as much as you can. Some things his way. Some things your way. Some things in the middle. Creative solutions. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:03, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It is a bit of a catch 22 situation here. Both of us are right in our own respective ways. Before I created the article I had actually visited several pages to study the different versions in use & I picked out what I liked best. My main displeasure with the version he proposes is that it removes information like distance & days. I had actually borrowed the format from either Secunderabad Mumbai Duronto Express, Secunderabad Hazrat Nizamuddin Duronto Express, Ernakulam Duronto or Kochi Duronto. Presently these 4 excluding what I have created/revamped use this version. This one is indeed a tough call.

Superfast1111 (talk) 05:25, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please weigh in there. If you wish to have uninvolved editors give their opinions, please keep it brief, and to the point. Also, trying to convert your opponents hasn't worked at the article talks. Try to make your case to the community at large instead. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:39, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Civility[edit]

We've talked about this before. Remarks like "... stop harping like a broken record about the dark image. Add more bright one's instead...." are not nice. You are perfectly capable of being polite. You can choose. No more of that, okay? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:05, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, i know but hearing the same thing time & time again can get you to blow your lid. I would rather have more of his images than his comments & travel schedule. Anyway, with the opinion being against timetable's in general, the talk doesn't hold relevance anymore. Superfast1111 (talk) 04:33, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Category creation[edit]

You can consult Wikipedia:Categorization in this respect. However, before creating a category as suggested by you, please see if such a category exists, check with Category:Rail transport in India by state or territory. Basically, a new category is linked to one or more old categories. A new category when marked on a page is a red link. Click on the red link and on the page that comes up link it to an old category. Once that link is established, a new category is created. Check carefully any category and you will get it. Cheers. - Chandan Guha (talk) 14:43, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New Delhi and Jagadhari[edit]

1. Neither photograph is very good and so I do not have an opinion. 2. Jagadhari is an important railway station because of a railway workshop at that place. However, there is no railway station page. I feel that only railway station pages (not town pages) should be added for listings. - Chandan Guha (talk) 01:21, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 03:04, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Indian locomotive class WAP 1 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://locomotivewapseries.blogspot.com/2019/02/wap1.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Ninja Diannaa (Talk) 17:58, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Duronto Express - Lead image[edit]

The pic you replaced was of Duronto's. Did you think I misled everyone with my picture? The Bangalore Delhi Duronto always uses normal AC LHB coaches. It is not my problem if Duronto's only have to use coaches with Duronto livery. Nikhil B (talk) 04:25, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I never stated that you are misleading anyone nor was it ever the intention. My question was why use Rajdhani LHB coach images on Duronto pages ?? Superfast1111 (talk) 05:20, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Jamnagar railway station[edit]

Your hard work on Indian train stations is well noted. However, edits without references, like the elevation at Jamnagar railway station appear to be original research and contradict the information at Indiarailinfo. This is a common occurrence in rail station articles and degrades the reliability of these articles. Rhadow (talk) 00:21, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Rhadow, I had viewed a station image available on the (ironically) Indiarailinfo website where the elevation of the concerned station was mentioned and corrected it accordingly. Unfortunately, elevation of railway stations in India is only available on station boards & nowhere else that I have been able to trace.

I believe that according to Wikipedia policy, I cannot post such images on Commons else I would be happy to provide the image to support what I have mentioned.

Regarding Indiarailinfo (I do contribute there also), I do not blindly believe everything mentioned there & always try to cross check information mentioned there with other sources such as IRCTC or Indian Railways website. Infact, just yesterday I advised another user against blindly copying such information. There was a difference of nearly 300 kms between what was mentioned on Indiarailinfo & Indian Railways website on a particular article.
