Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Draft:Jesse Cutler, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.music-city.org/Jesse-Cutler/biography/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) A tag has been placed on File:Jesse Cutlers Angels.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. complete re-write needed[edit]

the content at User:Surfsupjoe125/sandbox is not going to be accepted as an encyclopedia article for several reasons 1) because it is completely unacceptable advertisement/hagiography. Please read WP:NPOV and WP:NOTWEBHOST. and 2) because the content presented does not establish that the subject meets the basic requirements for a stand alone article.

All content in an article must be verifiable as having been previously published in a source which has a reputation for fact checking and editorial oversight and is not related to the subject of the article . You should establish the facts by making a footnote for every claim. also note that wikipedia is not a reliable source .

Because you have claimed that you know the people mentioned in the article, it would also probably be beneficial to read our conflict of interest policy-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 17:01, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Red Pen,
I do know the people and speak with Jesse almost everyday
Cheers
Joe
and it looks like you have cut and pasted most of the content from [1] that is unacceptable use of copyright materials. Please re-write using your own words. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 17:19, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No that content is owned by Jesse Cutler and he gave it to me. It originated from him prior to being published on the internet.

In addition, Jesse nevber gave that site permission to publish his bio there. They have no right to copyright it and it originated from Jesse Cutler and portions were used on his personal website. So, since this is not a copyright issue and it was not cut and pasted from the site you are referring to, what do I have to do to be able to use this verbiage.

Thanks

As per multiple notices on this page, copyright transfers and releases require specific procedures that need to be followed. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 22:05, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Hello,
Just got off the telephone with Jesse Cutler and Paul Shaffer. Jesse published a book called StarLust and Paul Shaffer did the foreward for it. his was a picture of them both at the signing of the books release. Jesse owns all rights to the pictures so I am confused as to why it is marked as blatant copyright infringement.
I am writing an article on Jesse Cutler as I type. It is at my sandbox Surfsupjoe125/sandbox. I am attempting to place images he has driected me to do. I would greatly appreciate knowing what has to be done since he obviously owns his own pictures. All photographs have been given to me directly from him for use within this article.
My best
Joe

The image was deleted because someone found a copy of the file on the web here, and you hadn't provided any indication that the copyright holder had released it under the creative commons license you claimed.

I'm not saying that what you wrote above is false, far from it; but we can't use material solely on the basis of that kind of statement. Please see our page about how to donate copyrighted materials for what's required in order to legally release the photo.

However, it would probably be better to wait until the article is accepted. There's no point going through the effort if the image won't be used. —Cryptic 15:38, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Jesse and Paul.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jesse and Paul.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:40, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Transferred discussion[edit]

Hello! I noticed that you started a discussion on Wikipedia talk:Conflict of interest about your draft, Draft:Jesse Cutler. Wikipedia talk:Conflict of interest, however, is for discussing improvements to the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guideline, not for discussing topics related to conflicts of interest. No worries, though! I transferred your discussion to a more appropriate page: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard. Noticeboards on Wikipedia are pages where editors can ask questions and request assistance from people who are familiar with the policies and guidelines covered by each individual board. --Dodi 8238 (talk) 18:00, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Surfsupjoe125, since you were the uploader of this file, is this Jesse Cutler? The file should be categorized. Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 10:57, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Jesse Cutler, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion".
