Welcome![edit]

Hello, Swanprincess1992, and welcome to Wikipedia! While efforts to improve Wikipedia are always welcome, unfortunately your contributions are not written in an English that is good enough to be useful. You appear to be more familiar with Persian; did you know there is a Wikipedia in Persian? You may prefer to contribute there instead. In any case, welcome to the project, and thank you for your efforts! If you need help, please feel free to notify me on my talk page. hi thank you so much. I know about Wikipedia in Persian but my friend is a known writer in Iran but she want to send her books in other countries for translate and publish and she need a English page of Wikipedia for her biography. Then I decided to gather all her works in Wikipedia Swanprincess1992 (talk) 14:35, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
known writer in Iran—great! Please cite or link the newspaper, magazine, or academic journal articles reviewing her work, individually or all together.
That aside, using Wikipedia to promote your friend may not be a great idea. First, anyone can edit Wikipedia, and no one has total control over an article. That means they can add criticism, so long as it is sourced, and neither you nor she can do anything to remove it. Second, sometimes people who promote themselves on Wikipedia may end up looking a bit foolish. For example, the U.S. Congress is blocked from editing Wikipedia because they promoted themselves and smeared their rivals. This does not exactly make them look great in the eyes of their fellow citizens.
I do not know how publishers in Iran work, but traditional publishers in my country generally do not completely rely on authors to promote themselves (the details of which probably are in some kind of contract). Self publishers promote their books on their own website or social media because they have total control over those—and none over their Wikipedia articles.
I understand that being published and working out who has which translation rights is difficult—I have friends who have tried to publish, and there was a big strike in Hollywood last year because big studios and their bosses earned lots of money, but most writers were having problems earning a living or having basic health insurance (and Hollywood is expensive to live in). I am just worried that you are working on this prematurely, and it will cause you more problems than give you solutions.
I wish I could give you better news, but giving you accurate information, even if disappointing, will save you a lot of trouble than giving you false hope. Best wishes, Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 20:49, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Elnaz Dadkhah moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Elnaz Dadkhah. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability, it is promotional and reads like an advertisement and you may have a possible Conflict of Interest. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Annh07 (talk) 15:22, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
