New Page on Deceased K-pop Stars?/I Submitted New Article

Would a page for deceased Korean idols be valid on wikipedia? Also, resubmitted 2005 in south korean music:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:2005_in_South_Korean_Music-76.174.35.70 (talk) 01:46, 3 August 2017 (UTC)

@76.174.35.70: Idols is a subjective term, the article would have to be backed up by significant reliable secondary sources. With that said, I do not really understand what you mean. Do you mean that the article would list them or? --TheSandDoctor (talk) 03:29, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
Yes, the article would be a list:
Name, Group (what group they were in. if they weren't in one, then put "none."), Date of Death, Cause of death (suicide, murder, drug overdose, car accident, etc.) and Additonal notes (where they add interesting facts such as awards won, or they can add how their death happened. Like in the case of suicide, what caused it.)-76.174.35.70 (talk) 14:31, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
Also, fixed 2005 article and it's resubmitted.-76.174.35.70 (talk) 14:42, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
@76.174.35.70: If you were to make said article, I would limit its scope to those who already have pre-existing articles - even then it would need references. I also would wonder if a category linking the existing articles would be better? Would have to have a different name than "deceased Korean idols" though as "idols" is a subjective term. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 16:37, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
is my 2005 article ok? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:2005_in_South_Korean_Music-76.174.35.70 (talk) 03:31, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
@76.174.35.70: To be honest, I am hesitant - partly due to referencing but also largely due to the fact that I am unfamiliar with the genre of music and the only reason I reviewed it is due to the fact that you linked it here and that I some improper references. I have removed some sources from it and replaced them with citation needed templates as they were not reliable (blogspot etc.) but I will let another reviewer review it. I personally would like to see more references from different reputable sources. Currently more than a third of the references are to jpopasia.com (which may not be an issue, I am not familiar with the genre). I would prefer to leave/defer the review to someone who is more knowledgeable about that genre and can give the draft a proper in-depth evaluation. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 03:35, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

ok. what about Cyndago? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Cyndago-76.174.35.70 (talk) 04:15, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for your feedback. I have added references...don't know how I forgot that. Let me know what you think. Thank you. Deanjt (talk) 13:43, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

10:02:14, 11 July 2017 review of submission by Zackraab107

Hi again, I saved all the changes to the article about a week ago, following your instructions and citation guidelines from above as best I could. I tweaked the "History" section so it doesn't sound promotional anymore and I added more sources all throughout the article as additional support. I used similar company's approved articles (Blue Nile (company), Brilliant Earth, Ritani, and Robbins Brothers) as guides for writing the James Allen page throughout this process - I figured that was a smart way to approach it. If you could please look it over again, I'd appreciate it. If it's good enough now for approval, that would be fantastic. If it's still not, every suggestion you can give is very helpful! Thanks. Zackraab107 (talk) 10:02, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

@Zackraab107: Sorry for my delay in response (I thought I had responded back in July), however, I would suggest referring to the AfC comments left by SwisterTwister on the draft. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 06:20, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
@TheSandDoctor: Hi again. I had wondered where you disappeared to after giving me good advice along the way. No worries about the delay at all, I really appreciate you taking the time to get back to me! So I have reached a bit of an unfortunate impasse given the effort I put towards tinkering with the article according to your initial suggestions to make sure it fit the Wiki standards. These are the sources I was able to compile and I was pretty sure it would be enough to be considered notable and properly sourced, and no longer promotional-sounding. I have taken into account the comments left by SwisterTwister and removed three sources, but any chance you could look it over once more please and point out any sources that are not up to the Wiki standard or any sentences that aren't supported enough or sound too promotional which, if removed/shortened, would allow the article to be approved? I strongly believe in the notability of James Allen, similar to the other companies I listed to you in my previous comment, so I'd really appreciate a final bit of guidance if you'd be so kind. Thank you! Zackraab107 (talk) 07:51, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

Please would you look again at the article I wrote a few weeks ago. I have (re)researched the piece a great deal and added numerous references and other data. Many thanks

@Wkg1974: Sorry for the delay in my response, I will leave this for another reviewer's opinion on it as a fresh set of eyes to it is most likely a good thing. Hopefully it will be reviewed soon. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 06:40, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

08:55:44, 12 August 2017 review of submission by Timewilson61

please let me know if the current edit which includes up to date reference to current news reports, meets the wikipedia criteria for referencing. Tim Wilson

Hi there Timewilson61! Thank you for reaching out to me, the draft needs to show why Aidan Powlesland is significant to his field. With that said, I feel that you are off to a decent start, however, I would also like to see more inline citations (ie entire Political Views section only has one citation at the very end). Hopefully this is helpful to you and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask and I will respond as quickly as possible. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 06:14, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

Resubmit

Dear SnadDoctor,
Hi, thank you for your help and advises. As per your guidance, I added some independent references to this article, could you please publish it after reviewing these changes. also I would like to inform you this subject has article in other wiki and you can find it here. thank you so much for your time and help in advance. regards --Déjà vu (Talk) 00:25, 13 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi there DejaVu! Thank you for reaching out to me. The draft still needs to demonstrate why Manshour Varasteh is significant to his field. Hopefully this is helpful to you and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask and I will respond as quickly as possible. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 06:14, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

A quick note about the Hyde Park article; basically that's a general overview of the park, including all aspects of it and a full history, and while live music is worth a mention, it's only really designed to be a short summary. The real "meat" of who played there and when goes in List of concerts in Hyde Park. Unfortunately that article isn't very well developed at the moment - but that might be an opportunity for you to improve it :-) Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 20:16, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Resubmission request

The references provided in the article by me in my recent edit are all that I have with me to furnish. If these references are not enough , please let me know the other options to get my article published.

with the current available references what information do I have to remove or edit, in order to get it accepted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pavanmaverick (talkcontribs) 12:01, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

@Pavanmaverick: The citations should not be all at the bottom of the draft as they are currently, they should be spread out beside the information that they support. As for the references, I do not feel that there is enough there as generally there needs to be some coverage from major independent sources (typically news) and a claim of significance. As for opinions, at the moment all I can suggest is to continue to look for sources or ask for help at the Teahouse. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 20:46, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

03:03:02, 30 August 2017 review of submission by Gayasianarthistory

I have re-written an article on M Woods Museum in Beijing carefully citing the quotations I use, and have in fact used many more citations than, say, the page dedicated to the Sifang museum. I'm not sure why these references are not considered enough or why there is a constant complaint that there is some copy right infringement going on.

@Gayasianarthistory: Hi there! Please refer to this edit on your talk page made by jmcgnh, they sum it up accurately. As an admin once posted on my talk page in response to another user, just because a "bad" page exists, does not mean that we should go around creating more of them, if you think that Sifang Art Museum should be deleted, nominate it for deletion! (see Other Stuff Exists). The issue I raised and that was echoed by jmcgnh is that the references are not adequate (though they are a start - again, see the edit by jmcgnh for more details), then add more references. Always work towards the betterment of Wikipedia! --TheSandDoctor (talk) 04:59, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
