Information icon Hello, I'm Dr.Pinsky. I wanted to let you know that one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Dean Andrews—has been undone because it appeared to be promotional. Hello Dr.Pinsky. My husband went to school with Dean Andrews and James May. My husband has a Masters. I was not doing this as any sort of promotional reason as he would not benefit from this. It is just a fact I was adding.
Please can you explain what I did wrong? The Trustworthy Editor (talk) 19:37, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your husband is not a notable person as Wikipedia defines it, and reliable, published sources do not discuss his relationship with Dean Andrews, as far as I know. Most people go to school with hundreds or thousands of other people. It is inappropriate and not encyclopedic to clog up a biography with a long list of former classmates, unless those relationships are described by reliable published sources. I understand. As far as our family are concerned my husband is a very notable person. he was a close friend of both Dean and James May. James even gave my husband a nickname. So he was not one of thousands or even hundreds, he was one of three and a close friend of those 2 people. The Trustworthy Editor (talk) 20:04, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Would it help if i ask Dean and James if they mind Andrew being included? The Trustworthy Editor (talk) 20:07, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, this content does not belong in this encyclopedia. Dean Andrews does not control the content of his Wikipedia biography. This content violates our well-established Policies and guidelines. Cullen328 (talk) 00:02, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Gosh,what a very silly system! The Trustworthy Editor (talk) 00:04, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Dean, Andrew and James were close friends but that is not allowed in your policies. I guess this is American. I will look into it, I do understand that you have a very different view on relationships of any sort to us Brits.Sorry tp have attempted to add an actual fact. i only did it as they will all be 60 next year and i thought it was a nice gesture. Silly me. The Trustworthy Editor (talk) 00:07, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
We have a tropical fish tank and the only reason my husband has kept one is because James did. They were really close and in each others houses all the time and actually played on building sites etc. The three of them were a tight group/ You have very odd policies. When my husband receives his MBE perhaps it will be ok to incude him. But perhaps not... The Trustworthy Editor (talk) 00:13, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
