My edits

Every one of my edits was true to fact, including that certain articles are hoaxes because they show too much bias towards proponents of woo. So please leave my edits intact. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skeptic25 (talkcontribs) 01:09, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

You would most likely benefit from checking into the aims and goals of this project. Alternately, you could consider not editing here. There are other options, but I don't have the time to go into all of them. Regards Tiderolls 01:13, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Language links

Is this correct for use as a language link (I don't know the proper term) "en:Десантные корабли-доки типа «Уидби Айленд»" i.e. the en: with Greek letters? I would think it should start with "gr:" (or the correct Greek language code) AdmiralHood (Talk:AdmiralHood) also has ru: followed by English wording where crylic would seem to be appropriate. Thanks Jim1138 (talk) 01:34, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

I do not understand the edit you wish to make nor the "Russian" edit you refer to as an example. Can you show me a diff? Tiderolls 01:41, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
It was fixed by AdmiralHood. I would say that I don't understand. Thanks for your time. Jim1138 (talk) 01:56, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

Bosnian pyramids

I posted an edit to the Bosnian Pyramids entry, offering an alternative view to the subject matter from that posted on Wikipedia.

This was removed by you 12 mins later. Can I please ask why?

Certainly. Your edit was a commentary on the objectivity of the article. Discussion of article content and/or ideas for article improvement should take place on the article's talk page. I hope this answers your concern. Thanks for your polite message. Tiderolls 21:46, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

November 2011

Hello Tide rolls. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know however, regarding DANCA DECUROOOOO, that tagging articles for speedy deletion moments after creation as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3) and articles created through the Article Wizard, is too fast. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), pure vandalism (G3), and copyright violations (G12) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. Puffin Let's talk! 21:33, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

Of course now I can't see the content I tagged so I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't have tagged the article without good reason. 15 miniutes or 15 years wouldn't make much difference in some cases. If this instance doesn't fit that bill I'd be surprised. Tiderolls 22:08, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

That was some epic reverting you did back there! Nice job. Brammers (talk/c) 22:01, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

I got in trouble and I don't know why :(

Dear Sir or Ma'am,

I am at the library and went to wikipedia to look something up.....this is what appeared on my screen. I have never edited something on this site. Am I still in trouble?

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to The Inc. Records, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted (undone) by ClueBot NG. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism. ClueBot NG produces very few false positives, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been detected as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again. The following is the log entry regarding this warning: The Inc. Records was changed by 169.139.19.208 (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.894304 on 2011-09-28T21:19:05+00:00 . Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 21:19, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at The Inc. Records with this edit. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. ItsZippy (talk • contributions) 21:23, 28 September 2011 (UTC — Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.139.19.208 (talk)

  • No, you are not in trouble. That warning was left for an edit that was made in September. IF you do nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about. Regards Tiderolls 21:18, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

Edits - The Hilltop Hoods

The first edit is definitely correct, as there should be a space between a word and a subsequent bracket.

The second edit is up for debate, however they are an Australian band and 'recognise' is Australian spelling.

203.45.222.191 (talk) 03:58, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

I've reinstated your changes as they appeared, generally speaking, to be needed. I would ask that you consider a few points. Re: Australian spelling; yes, national varieties of English are suggested to follow the article subject's origin. Note "suggested". WP:ENGVAR also mentions consistancy and stability. Not that your edit violated the letter or even the spirit of that guideline, it's simply worthwhile to remember that change for the sake of change is rarely helpful. Please note the "Show preview" button immediately to the right of the "Save page" button when on the editing page. This feature helps one consolidate one's edits into fewer attempts. Also, if you would consider employing edit summaries (see Help:Edit summary) to aid other editors in understanding your edits it would go a long way to avoid confusion and time-consuming follow-up. Thanks for your polite message. Tiderolls 04:52, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

Erm...it appears this article was the subject of a deletion discussion see:Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Thankskilling. Should we raise the issue at a project talk page or make some effort at a review? Tiderolls 00:26, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

Considering that I was one of the two "delete" votes in the previous deletion discussion, and that the film has now addressed my previous concerns, I am thinking that it is on much firmer ground, notability-wise, then it was when discussed. BUT, if you know of an appropriate project page, I definitely think it would be good to raise the issue there. What kind of a review are you thinking about? I don't know much about movie articles in Wikipedia, so please guide me if you can. Thanks! Ebikeguy (talk) 00:42, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
I found Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film which appears quite active. My only concern is notability. It's my opinion that the article would pass a bare minimum standard, but as it's been deleted once I would appreciate other views. Whatcha think? Tiderolls 00:56, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
I think we've got notability per "The film... has received full length reviews by two or more nationally known critics," but digging up another citation from a major publication sure would help. I'll try to find one when I have a moment Ebikeguy (talk) 21:35, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
Just added (rather clumsily, I'm afraid) a Boston Globe ref. Think that will tip the scales far enough in our favor? Ebikeguy (talk) 21:45, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
Well, that's two refs...I think it will be ok. I'll post the request for other opinions unless you want the honor. You've done the most work on the article so I wouldn't want to steal your thunder. If you would prefer that I make the request let me know. Again, thanks for all the hard work. Tiderolls 04:43, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

I want to be a soldier

On the "I want to be a soldier page", I made an edit to remove the link for "Josephine Barnes". It is wrong. I know Josephine Barnes and her family very well, She is not a dame and is certainly not dead, you have it linked to "Dame Josephine Barnes" who died over ten years before this film was made. This is a prime example of why people can't take Wikipedia seriously.

OK thanks! I will keep an eye out for other socks of the user. I know from personal experience that you learn from being blocked in the past. And I am now a much better user from it actually! :) Sincerely --BabbaQ (talk) 23:12, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
I just want you to know that the user in question is now threatning me on his talk page [1]. I dont find that OK. Sincerely!.--BabbaQ (talk) 12:13, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
I took the liberty of reverting the users harassments and threats. To the original version without the nonsense.--BabbaQ (talk) 12:15, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
I have stayed away from the user for several days without responding to the user directly and now I see that the user is still trying to force administrators to warn me. While no one has found a reason to, the user is still going on a smear campaign writing me down at several users talk pages. I have had enough. [2], [3],[4] and that is just a few of the comments. I hope you can see why I find it hard to just let the user go on with this.--BabbaQ (talk) 14:27, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
I wish you a Happy New Year!! :)--BabbaQ (talk) 14:27, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the well wishes, BabbaQ, allow me to reciprocate in wishing a happy New Year to you and yours. I regret this response finds you blocked. From what I gather, the best advice would be to avoid interaction with Twafotfs completely. I would understand if this restriction would be a condition that you would find unsatisfactory. I don't know that I would be able to follow my own advice, but it's almost a certainty that you would find the results of further interaction even less satisfactory. You've shown that you can do good work...simply carry on in that spirit. Thanks for all your efforts on Wikipedia. Tiderolls 21:50, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Looks can be deceiving. Tiderolls 00:42, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
I agree that it's commentary, but first we need to get in the D of BRD. While you didn't violate 3RR, it wasn't vandalism so it's edit warring.Jasper Deng (talk) 00:43, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

Hello,

Who are you and what authority within Wikipedia do you have?

What I have written is what is understood to be the traditional Boxing Day in England, from where it later spread to the Commonwealth Nations you mentioned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Katrevallio1 (talkcontribs) 00:44, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

For the first question, Tide rolls is a volunteer Wikipedia administrator, a user trusted with access to some tools that could affect the entire project. He can block you (remove your ability to edit). If it is a common thing for Boxing Day, there must certainly be reliable sources for it, but in any case that doesn't belong in the first sentence (or even the first paragraph) of the article.Jasper Deng (talk) 00:46, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
Jasper, I never called it vandalism because I do not deem it vandalism. The user is inserting commentary...repeatedly without discussion. This is disruptive. I will be more than happy to address any concern the user has. Tiderolls 00:49, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
...but that doesn't give any reason to remove the user's edits repeatedly either. Think of it: He would not be edit warring with you if he was not reverted by you. What I meant by mentioning vandalism was that there is no entitlement to make reverts even if you started a discussion.Jasper Deng (talk) 00:53, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
Until the user responds to my message on their user talk I have no idea as to their motive, be it vandalism or well intentioned, but missguided, commentary. I'm just asking for time to find out what's going on. Tiderolls 00:57, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
