ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:05, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Why are you adding one random reference to every politician’s page? Watercheetah99 (talk) 20:49, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

With all due respect, find more relevant sources you can't just add any random article to the first sentence of a page when it's completely irrelevant. It's going to take weeks to remove all of those irrelevant references, review them please. Watercheetah99 (talk) 22:51, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What are you talking about? I never said the articles were bad, they just have no relevance to where you are putting them. Random sources without relevance doesn't help the article, calm down. Watercheetah99 (talk) 23:00, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You need to calm down and read the sources, it would make sense if the sources were directly from the websites of ministries or the senate but they aren't. Your sources are just any article that mentions the person making them not relevant to the sentence, find more relevant sources not ones that simply mention the name. You just search up a name, pick any random article, and place it in any random place in the page; for example: Noimot Salako-Oyedele - you added an article about a recent speech she gave to a sentence that described her electoral history, there is no connection at all. Please stop screaming and review the edits, so many are like this. Watercheetah99 (talk) 23:11, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In the Abdullahi Balarabe Salame page, you put a source for him killing an intruder on a sentence that describes his time as house of assembly speaker and acting governor. On the Musa Sarkin-Adar page, you put a source of a group calling on Sarkin-Adar to support Gbajabiamila in 2019 on a sentence talking about his life before politics in the mid-2000s. On the Abdullahi Idris Garba page, you again added a political article from 2019 to a sentence talking about his life before politics. On the Julius Ihonvbere, you put a recent article about sports policy to a sentence about his educational history. None of these are needed at all. Watercheetah99 (talk) 23:31, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Who is telling you to do this nonsense? Whoever is telling you this is wrong, it's going to take weeks to fix this. Ask them why they're telling you to do this and show them the issues. Also, respond here on your own page please, let's resolve this quickly. Watercheetah99 (talk) 06:52, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tolu io (talk) 07:20, 23 February 2022 (UTC) target isn't politicians only please. It's to add citations that truly individuals exist and they live with newspapers that aren't biased. I'm headed to work and can't continue this back and forth. my intention is to make wikipedia more credible.[reply]

With all due respect, these pages do not need it. Most of them have several sources that are both credible and relevant. You aren't helping the pages by adding junk references, you are just giving everyone else so much more work when they have to fix them. Look at any other non-stub biographical page, none of them have sources thrown haphazardly into the introduction to prove that the "individuals exist" - everyone knows they exist, this is a clear WP:BLUE example. Watercheetah99 (talk) 07:38, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tolu io (talk) 08:48, 23 February 2022 (UTC) I see you just want to stress me this morning, can you read????? If I ever add a citation to a page, It means the former citations are not credible enough. I mean there's a reason Wikipedia is yet to block me but you are blocked for life. Please do not go on about this again, it's showing up on my progress dashboard. I'll get discredited for this 👍[reply]

Again, these pages do not need you. Your sources are unnecessary and irrelevant for the simple reason that nobody needs to prove the individual's existence. You clearly have not read these articles, they do not say what you think they say; you also clearly have not read sourcing policy which has an entire template dedicated to this stuff. Who is telling you to do this?? Watercheetah99 (talk) 10:01, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop this. Watercheetah99 (talk) 18:13, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tolu io (talk) 19:14, 23 February 2022 (UTC) disclaimer to anyone reading this: the above individual's intention is to discredit my work just so he can get paid to add citations to wikipedia.[reply]

Are you getting paid for this?? One: that'd be a clear undisclosed conflict of interest. Two: the edits you're making are not worth any money. Watercheetah99 (talk) 19:47, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning for adding random links to lots of articles[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Roberto Firmino. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. GiantSnowman 19:02, 24 February 2022 (UTC) Tolu io (talk) 19:05, 24 February 2022 (UTC) i ONLY ADDED SKY SPORTS, A VERIFIABLE LINK FOR HIS PROFILE. YOU CAN CLICK ON THE LINK TO CONFIRM[reply]

Mass addition of these links to the lede of articles is not needed or wanted - and neither is your shouting. GiantSnowman 19:06, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tolu io (talk) 19:11, 24 February 2022 (UTC) I'm sorry if you felt like i was shouting, I wasn't.[reply]

Request reason:

I didnt't abuse the editing privilege, I was only adding quality sources to Wikipedia. Please unblock me as I'm currently in an education contest that seeks to improve the information people get from wiki. i'm only doin my part Tolu io (talk) 19:18, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I have no confidence your behaviour would be significantly different if I lifted the block. Yamla (talk) 23:54, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You continued to add links after you were warned not to. You have ignored all warnings and your conduct merited a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Tolu io, which you did not engage with. Your silly contest is not an excuse for disrupting Wikipedia. GiantSnowman 19:22, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tolu io (talk) 19:42, 24 February 2022 (UTC) I had service provider issues that's why woodburn came up late and for the warning, the individual gets paid to add articles to wikipedia so he had issues with me updating the references[reply]

Who gets paid to edit Wikipedia? GiantSnowman 19:43, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Even if I did get paid, which I haven't been, I wouldn't lose money when you edit that makes no sense. Also I wouldn't be making a lot of money because I don't create that many articles. Go and tell your lecturer that you got banned from Wikipedia and hopefully they'll just give you a different assignment. Good luck. Watercheetah99 (talk) 21:50, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tolu io (talk) 06:54, 25 February 2022 (UTC) lol, they won't... I fail a course that has to do with research on wikipedia. this was my project, i was close. I explained they weren't spam links but you reported me and i hope you're happy. have a nice day.[reply]
