A tag has been placed on Christos Terzides requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. A tag has been placed on Christos Terzides, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

re: deletion policy[edit]

Hello - thanks for the message, and welcome to Wikipedia. :-)

I looked at the article about which you asked - I'm able to do that as an admin - and if I were the admin going through the list that day, I would have deleted it too. It was written not as a page about an author, but as a page about someone who owned a company that was looking for publicity. We're pretty sensitive about companies and/or people seeking publicity and/or free advertising.

My suggestion is to read the links provided in the notices above this section - first, if you haven't already, look at the links in the welcome message at the top of this page. Next, take a close look at the links given in the deletion notices, particularly the ones about advertising-only articles and non-notable people. I have no opinion right now as to the notability of this man, because you didn't list enough secondary sources about him, but you should write any new article about him to emphasize the books, not the festivals or people his company manages or that stuff. However, if that stuff is important, important enough to make him notable, then reliable sources about those festivals and people should be provided. Read the links I just gave about reliable and secondary sources; it's very, very important here.

If it turns out that Terzides isn't notable, we have tons of other Greek authors and articles that need attention. WikiProject Greece is always recruiting new volunteers.

One last word of advice for now: be careful about submitting the article again before it's completely ready for insertion into the main article space. If it's not quite ready and you wish to work on it in stages, you can create a place for it in your userspace. Create a page like User:Vendrediv/Terzides where you can get it prepared; you can create a similar page for the other article you're trying to get ready. If you like, I'll be happy to take a look at it before you take another run at putting it into the encyclopedia.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to drop by if you have more questions. Regardless of how these articles turn out, I hope you decide to stay. Thanks again. :-) KrakatoaKatie 11:38, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you for your quick response! Maybe I was too excited about it and became less neutral... I will rewrite it following your advice and try again. Best! (Vendrediv (talk) 11:43, 20 August 2013 (UTC))[reply]

new article review[edit]

I took a quick look at your article. It looks much better than the first try - great job!

There are a few things that need attention:

  • Most of us here don't speak Greek. Find as many English reliable sources as you can. You can use the Greek ones also - just put (in Greek) after the link - but we want to see sources in English.
  • The article should be written in past tense, not present tense. "He publishes" should be "he published," and so on.
  • Get the ISBN numbers for the books. It will help quite a bit.
  • Not necessary to list the bands he manages. In fact, I'd definitely leave it out because it makes the article look like a résumé.

After you take care of these things, I'll be happy to look at it again. Thanks. :-) KrakatoaKatie 06:53, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
