I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Borris Miles, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Please don't remove tags (as you did on Borris Miles) without providing an explanation or addressing the issue. This article lacks references of any kind. In a situation like that, referring to a subject as "successful" isn't in keeping with WP:NPOV. In additiion, please don't add things like his "Greatest Father of the Year" award to the article. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and all claims should be sourced and encyclopedic. Please let me know if you have any questions. janejellyroll 01:21, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You've spent a lot of time working on this article, so I wanted to give you a chance to correct this problem before I nominate it for speedy deletion. The article is copied from [1], one of the sources you're citing. Are you the original author of the material in the representative's biography or do you have permission to post it here? If not, I will have to nominate the article for speedy deletion. If you replace the copied material with original material the article can stay up. Please let me know what you'd like to do. Again, I know you've spent a lot of time working on this. janejellyroll 02:43, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if I'm responding in the right place but yes, I'm the original author. Whitegrrl

If you're the author of the original biography on the subject's website, can you please make a note of that on the talk page. That way, you won't have to go through the same process with other editors who notice the material is the same. Also, I'm going to make the assumption that you either work for the subject or are affliated with him in some way. If you haven't already, please take a peek at WP:COI - our conflict of interest policy. Thanks. janejellyroll 03:01, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm the author of the original biography and I work for the Representative. Thanks for the heads up on the conflict of interest policy.Whitegrrl
Since there is a clear conflict of interest here, please refrain from re-adding POV material to the article. I'm sure the Representative is proud that his children believe he is the greatest father in the world--but this is not encyclopedic information. Nor can you make the claim that he is "successful" based solely on a website biography that you have written. Since you are an employee of the subject, I urge you to step back, read WP:NPOV and WP:COI, and consider the nature of our project. The representive's website is a space where you can make claims like this. Wikipedia is not. janejellyroll 03:19, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I replaced the copied material with the original material but must have misunderstood your instructions. Will remove POV statements per your instructions. Many apologies but I jumped in before reading policies and instructions. I will not be making additions or changes after now.Whitegrrl 05:30, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
