Well I don't see you why you shouldn't look like one, the rest of us do it often enough :D. If you want to experiment, probably the easiest thing to do is to make a sandbox on your user page (you can see mine at the top of my user page here, numbered one to four). I've taken the liberty of creating one on your user page - click on the red-linked 'sandbox' there and copy the code for the SAF1 article into it and then play around with it. I would suggest having a look round other articles to get a feel for the house style - Toyota F1 is in fairly good shape from memory. Drop me a line if I can help. Ben, sorry, that's a bit longer than I was expecting. You may find I'm not being entirely objective in my comments, I've been editing here a long time now, so I may see the standard approach as being 'right' simply because it is the standard. So you may want to ignore it! :) Anyway, with that caveat:
- Picture size: You've set the images to 150px. I don't know what size that appears on your screen, but they're about 4cm wide on my screen (17", 1280 x 1024), which is a bit small. I'm guessing your screen is on a lower resolution, and the images will therefore appear bigger than they do on mine. This is a tricky one, because of the range of different resolutions and screen sizes people have. If the thumb size is left undefined, the images default to the size set in each editor's user preferences. Some people propose this as the solution to the problem of different screen resolutions and sizes. The problem with it is that often you really do want the image sizes to differ on the same page, and the technique doesn't allow it. All I can really suggest is that you try viewing pages on a variety of different screen resolutions (right click on your desktop and select properties) and try to find settings that look OK in various resolutions.
- You've got all the images down one side. I've got no particular objection to that myself, although I prefer to mix them up a bit. Be aware that other editors have a strong preference for alternating pictures on each side, so you may need to argue your case. There is also a supposed rule that says that images should 'face' inwards - so a picture of a car going left to right should be placed on the left hand side of the page. I think this is one of those areas where you can't really set rules, if it looks good to you, then go for it! WP:IMAGE may be of interest.
- The lead/lede. I think you'll have to drop your changes here, because they go fundamentally against Wikipedia in-house style. Sorry! If you read WP:LEAD you'll see what I mean, let me know if it's not clear.
