Overlinking[edit]

Hi. In your recent edit to Santali cinema, you added several incorrect or un-necessary wikilinks, which I've reverted. Please have a look at MOS:OVERLINK for the Manual of Style regarding the following issues. I've taken some time to describe the specific issues in the hopes that it will be educational. You might want to open a separate window with this diff of your changes. The issues were:

 • At the very beginning of the lead sentence, you changed Santali cinema to Santali cinema, attempting to wikilink "Santali cinema". This should not be done. You'll note that it had no effect, because the wiki software is smart enough not to produce a link back to the same page the link is on.
 • In the next sentence, you changed Santali films are made in the Santali language to Santali films are ..., i.e., linking "Santali" to the article about the Santali Wikipedia, which is incorrect, since the meaning of the word there is to describe the language/culture of "films". "Santali language" is already linked at the end of the sentence. The same mis-linking to Santali Wikipedia was repeated a couple more times below.
 • Though, in the sentence just mentioned, "films" was linked by a previous editor, it's un-necessary because it's a commonly-understood word. You added links to this and other common phrases ("film industry", "music albums", and "cinema").
 • You linked "Nepal" and "Jharkhand" even though they were already linked further up in the article. Something should generally be linked only once in the body of the article.
 • You italicized the director's name (Kiran Khatiwada). People's names should not be italicized (see MOS:ITALIC for when to italicize).
 • Note that when you pluralize a link, it's not necessary to separate the "s" from the link: CD<nowiki/>s should just be CDs, to produce: CDs. If a piped link is not necessary for any other reason, you can just do: CD-ROMs to produce: CD-ROMs since the wiki software is specifically designed to include simple suffixes in the link, and it's rarely necessary to avoid that. (BTW, are the films actually released on CDs or is it actually DVDs? It doesn't seem that a CD has enough capacity for more than a "short" at a reasonable resolution. That statement, like many others, is unsourced.)

I hope this helps. (If you respond here below, please start with AlanM1 so I'm notified.) —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 22:03, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@AlanM1: Hi,Alan thanks for your great help and support, I have seen in Santali cinema page there is some clarify noticed can you pls guide me for that. This was the first indigenous Santali feature film made in Nepal. There was no any film ever made on this tribe people indigenous Santal caste in Nepal before this film that is why I had mention the name first historic Santali film Bonodal. Can you pls help me. Thank u (User talk: Zayakg)

Sorry for not getting back to you on this. My concern was that "historic" was opinion (and ambiguous), which we try not to do (see WP:NPOV) unless we are quoting a source. If you can find a reliable source that says what you said above, I'd suggest quoting and citing it. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 16:08, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@AlanM1: Thanks for your suggestion, I am writing an articles on this content Bonodal as soon as I will finished with the collecting the fact I will update with you. Thank you have a great day (User talk:Zayakg)

Request reason:

I don't understand why you block my id for edit. The articles which I am writing is already a history project of Country Nepal, which means, this is the first Indigenous Santali feature film ever made in Nepali cinema history. As we all knows the value of FISRT. First value is always remain in the history of each nation. I went in Cinema of Nepal and update it, I don't understand every fact I had collect is authentic but I don't understand why you guys remove from there. I know the rules and regulations of Wikipedia, I have more than 30 thousand words to update for this articles, I had gathered all the information for the update. You guys at least have to check my edit history so far how many time I had done my edit. I know you guys are professional over here but it does not mean that you own this Wikipedia. This is not a good way to handle new user, you guys supposed to handle with good manner. If you have talent then help other to make it easy for them. Not act like Godfather of wikipedia. Without knowing the fact how you guys can do this unprofessional way for a new joiner, before taking a decision you guys supposed to see the history of the user edit, and know the value of the article how they are writing and what is the story all about, thanks and regards, need your clarification @Zayakg

Decline reason:

You come across as combative or not sufficiently competent in English. Or both. Perhaps you should better try the Wikipedia in your native language? — Daniel Case (talk) 06:24, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
