Disambiguation link notification for November 28[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Murder of Lasa and Zabala, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page San Sebastian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

December 2014[edit]

Information icon Your recent edit to Dominican Order appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person or organization added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Gun caliber conversions[edit]

Be advised that there is no requirement to convert calibers if the gun is linked, which just about all of them are in my articles. Also measurements are converted on first use, so I've reverted some of your additions when the caliber has already been converted. I'm not going to bother reverting the rest of your edits, but be advised that you're making work for yourself that isn't necessary. Otherwise, thanks for working on the articles, you've caught a few errors that I'd missed.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 05:42, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your edit to the 20 cm/50 3rd Year Type naval gun article. As you may be aware, artillery nomenclature is an approximation of four different measurements, and each of those dimensions is subject to manufacturing tolerances. Bore diameter is less than groove diameter. Bourrelet diameter must be less than bore diameter to insure a maximum tolerance bourrelet on a thermally expanded projectile will fit within a minimum tolerance bore in a cold barrel. Driving band diameter must be greater than groove diameter to form a tight gas seal in a badly eroded barrel. If you know which of these dimensions was the basis of naming the 41 cm/45 3rd Year Type naval gun I would value your perspective as to the number of significant figures appropriate to reflect manufacturing tolerances when converting that dimension to English units. Thewellman (talk) 17:57, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for responding. I apologize for failing to provide the internal link to significant figures. Thewellman (talk) 23:49, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Aircraft totals[edit]

You are correct about the aircraft totals for Pearl Harbor; I've validated them against a better source. Navweaps.com isn't regarded as highly reliable, as is required for FA-class articles so I swapped it out for another one. One of these days I'll replace the weapons data in this article with better ones.

Be advised that cites follow punctuation and that you need to follow all existing cite and date formats in FA-, A- and GA-class articles. Failure to follow these rules and will likely increase the chance that your edits will be reverted, regardless of factual merit.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 18:24, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring at Spanish Inquisition[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Spanish Inquisition shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. 2602:304:788B:DF50:8CDD:5461:389A:631B (talk) 18:09, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

File names in articles[edit]

Information icon Please do not edit the name of files in articles as you did to Juan de Amézqueta, it breaks the link to the file. I have corrected the mistake. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.

The "Show preview" button is right next to the "Publish changes" button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask on my talk page, or to post at the help desk for assistance. Thank you.
