I want to change my username[edit]

Hello. I went to the help section and it was not clear concerning how to change my username. Can you guide me through please — Preceding unsigned comment added by VThomas21 (talkcontribs) 02:22, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CHU has all the information you need to change your username. --Fauzan✆ talk✉ mail 06:04, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Technically correct but as the user only has 35 edits, it would be easier for them to abandon that user name and create a new one.--ukexpat (talk) 12:48, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

More Episodes of Simple Life[edit]

Suppose mrs Nicole Hilton could make a television series like Paris but in Maine potato fields I want the girls to learn how to drive an eighteen wheeler, would sell plus Nicky could pull Sally field off in a new bandit movie, still simple life just in Maine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.227.89.56 (talk) 03:24, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect, based on your question, that you found one of our over 6 million articles and thought we were affiliated in some way with that subject. Please note that you are at Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia that anyone can edit, and this page is for asking questions related to using or contributing to Wikipedia itself. Thus, we have no special knowledge about the subject of your question. You can, however, search our vast catalogue of articles by typing a subject into the search field on the upper right side of your screen. If you cannot find what you are looking for, we have a reference desk, divided into various subject areas, where asking knowledge questions is welcome. Best of luck. Request for revision, lock or any action in article Petra Štefanková[edit]

I would like to ask for some action, what would prevent multiple erasing from anonymous IP contributor in article Petra Štefanková. Same issue happen on slovakian version of this article and we had to lock article. Informations in article are relevant and verifiable, notable enough to remain in present state. It is only pure speculation, that erasing and vandalising coming from ms. Stefankova, who doesn't like published informations about her, or (perhaps) ceased further professional career, but even it would be such case, it's unacceptable way of editing. --Magy357 07:46, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

The proper place to make such requests is at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. SpinningSpark 12:49, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a way to find all instances where I interacted with another editor on Talk pages?[edit]

I'm looking for a way to find all instances where both our signatures appear in the same sections of Talk pages. I have already searched both User Talk archives without success, so the interaction must have happened on some other Talk page. The purpose of my search is to engage the user on a current issue while avoiding re-ignition of a half forgotten dispute from several years ago. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 08:44, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, The Editor Interaction Analyzer will find all talk pages you both edited. Of course, it can't tell who you were actually talking to. SpinningSpark 08:53, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:57, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Block[edit]

Good morning,

I have been blocked in my Spanish account because I tried to blank my Talk page. There were two very old messages, with the matter already set, that I do not want to be in display anymore. The regulations about Blanking read like this:

Policy does not prohibit users, whether registered or unregistered users, from removing comments from their own talk pages, although archiving is preferred. The removal of material from a user page is normally taken to mean that the user has read and is aware of its contents. There is no need to keep them on display and usually users should not be forced to do so.

The Spanish Wikipedia librarians claim that blanking is forbidden, although it is not clearly stated at the Help page (where it is written that it is forbidden to erase other people's messages without stating in who's Talk page) and not stated at all at the Etiquette page (where it is only written that it could be done, but rather not). It could be a case of mistranslation or misunderstanding, since in the English Wikipedia there is no so prohibition.

Please help me set this issue. Yours,

--Yuanyanyu (talk) 09:24, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Each language edition of Wikipedia has its own policies and we have no control over administrators of another Wikipedia. The English language policy you've quoted above is irrelevant to the policy at the Spanish Wikipedia. It does not appear to be a matter of mistranslation but of autonomy; our policy is not their policy. The issue at es:Usuario discusión:Yuanyanyu, at least as described by others to you there, is that you deleted the talk page messages entirely, though you were told that the policy at the Spanish Wikipedia is that you may remove messages from your talk page only after archiving them (es:Ayuda:Cómo archivar una página de discusión). I suggest you wait out the end of your 31 hour block and then create a talk page archive.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 10:47, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing errors on The Philosophy of Freedom[edit]

Reference help requested. What should I do?Thewikibeagles (talk) 11:19, 12 August 2014 (UTC) Thanks, Thewikibeagles (talk) 11:19, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Philosophy of Freedom (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Another editor has fixed this already. Your "end of reference" tags had the slash in the wrong place; the syntax is <ref>...</ref> -- John of Reading (talk) 11:34, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Delete history[edit]

how do I delete history thank you bob — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobolynk (talkcontribs) 11:24, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In general, history is not deleted. The only exceptions are under the circumstances, & by the processes, described at Wikipedia:Revision deletion and Wikipedia:Oversight. --David Biddulph (talk) 12:05, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Submission of article for review; however draft article already under the draft title[edit]

Hi,

When looking to submit an article for creation following a review by the editors of Wikipedia and searching the relevant name(at this stage: Wikipedia:Article wizard/Ready for submission ), the search shows that there is already a draft of an article submitted (this page: link).

My question is whether it is possible to submit a new draft article for review by Wikipedia's editors?

83.244.215.2 (talk) 13:20, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It would be preferable to take over the existing draft and add or replace material at that page. It is not actively being edited so is unlikely to cause a conflict. Having two drafts on the same subject is confusing for the reviewers and ultimately one of them (at least) will have to be deleted. SpinningSpark 13:55, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Aston Manor Brewery[edit]

The information on Aston Manor Brewery is not relevant to the Current company Aston Manor Cider. Could you please change:

The updated information about Aston Manor Cider is below:

Please post this on the article's talk page.--ukexpat (talk) 15:58, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Established in 1983, Aston Manor celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2013.

Aston Manor Cider has a production and packaging facility in Birmingham, orchards in Worcestershire and Herefordshire and a further production and packaging facility at Tiverton in Devon.

In spring 2013 the business announced the planting of 1,000 acres of additional new orchards committing to the planting of over 350,000 trees. In doing so we have agreed twenty-five year contracts with our farmer and grower partners.

The Tiverton site has received significant investment to transform its capacity and capability. The £10m invested over three years has doubled both the volume of production and employment, making Aston Manor a cider manufacturer of scale.

In the autumn of 2013, a new fruit processing and pressing facility was added in Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire. This represented further major investment to support the expected growth of the business.

In order to support further growth, in July 2014 the business announced a multi-million pound deal to create an outstanding logistics facility at a new site just three miles from the Aston production site.

Adjacent to the M6 at Witton in Birmingham the new logistics hub will be configured precisely to the requirements of Aston Manor Cider. Further investment in the top quality, modern site will create a suite of offices for the management and support functions of the business.

Our product range spans from mainstream to premium ciders such as Malvern Oak and Malvern Gold through to organic cider produced for Duchy Originals. Many of our ciders have won awards, which is testament to the care that goes into every single bottle of cider that we produce.

We currently export a range of our ciders to more than 20 countries including America, Russia and a number of countries in Africa. We welcome export enquiries.

Aston Manor works closely with a broad range of customers to produce own brand cider products of the highest quality. In recognition of our collaborative approach with customers, Aston Manor were announced as the own-label alcohol category supplier of the year at The Grocer Gold Awards in 2013.

I have posted below a few links on updated and correct information for Aston Manor Cider:

— Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.33.43.66 (talk) 14:15, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If Aston Manor Cider is a different company then the material does not belong on the page for Aston Manor Brewery. If it is the same company, historical information does not stop being notable because the company has moved on and it thus still belongs in the article along with any updated information. How do I not only delete account[edit]

How do I not only delete account with this web site but all information? Jan — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cacklejeff (talkcontribs) 14:25, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Accounts are never deleted. The history of an account's editing is only deleted in exceptional circumstances such as copyright violations. You do, however, have the right to vanish. SpinningSpark 16:17, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

a mistake I made on the entry on lactose entry.[edit]

I accitentally change some of the wording on lactose and don't know what I deleted. I just wanted to let you know so that it could be corrected — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.5.216.30 (talk) 18:03, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your edits. Thank you for letting us know. For information, if a similar situation arises in future you can use the History tab, the differences facility, and then the undo option to reverse your edits. --David Biddulph (talk) 18:12, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Adding the "V E T" to a template[edit]

What template do I add to a template to add the V E T to the top corner of it? Zginder 2014-08-12T19:31:26Z

The templates that have that, I believe are all from template Navbox (or one of its varieties) See Template:Navbox. Note (looked at your recent contributions), I don't think they would be used for standings templates though...Naraht (talk) 19:48, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That functionality is coded into some templates, like {{Navbox}} by Module:Navbar.--ukexpat (talk) 19:49, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why is my article still have issues when I made sure all references match Wikipedias criterias?[edit]

I created an article about the artist Mikkel Hess some months ago.

when it was requested to be deleted, I changed the references of the article to some better ones and made sure that I did not violate any criterias.

For some reason its still marked for deletion and has multiple issues?

How can I get that approved? — Preceding unsigned comment added by RoseVind13 (talkcontribs) 20:33, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Normally, deletion debates are held open for at least seven days. This one has been extended because ao far very few people have commented there, including you. You should make your case for keeping the article at the page's deletion discussion. SpinningSpark 21:05, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
