Image inside info box shows extra data

I've ran into strange issue using Wikipedia info box template. After uploading the file to wikimedia and using it with the tag.

I'm getting following information displayed over the image:

Anyone experienced such issue and what was the steps to resolve it?

@Adamsfather: See, some infoboxes expect a full [[image:...]] or [[file:...]] command, other need the picture name only and add the wiki-code themselves. It's always good to check a template description before use (or—in the absence of a description—its use in other Wiki pages). --CiaPan (talk) 16:03, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Please note also that the image you uploaded is most likely copyrighted and will be deleted from Commons at some point. If it is an album cover, upload it directly to the sk.wikipedia and fill out the appropiate fair usage template. Nanonic (talk) 08:00, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your note @ Nanonic, as I stated in my message above, I was asked to upload that image by band member. Actually, I'm friend of the band members and doing this web related stuff for them. But unless the copyright rules are different at sk.wikipedia (and I can't see why they would be), you can't use a fair use image of an album cover in an article about a band, only in an article specifically about that album. - Arjayay (talk) 10:38, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Commercial propaganda?

I think we should remove the last image from Székely_Land#Image_gallery, because it represents commercial propaganda (WP:NOTADVERTISING). The brand is a nationalistic reply to the Ciuc Beer (produced by Heineken Romania) and its Hungarian name ("Igazi Csiki Sör") is translated as ("The True Ciuc Beer"). Heineken even sued Lénárd András (the owner of the Csiki brewery), asking for financial compensations for the imitation of the more famous Ciuc brand (more details here in Romanian ,

List of usernames

I am trying to search for certain usernames in Wikipedia. I have this link, but it does not seem to be working. Can you give me the right link, please? ~ P-123 (talk) 09:41, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Change the Group option to "All" or something else appropriate eg "Administrators" if you know they're an administrator etc - X201 (talk) 09:49, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

There is no error message. I can call up a known administrator, but not myself, for example, an ordinary editor of one year's standing. If I look under "all", it looks as if it is searching, but seems to get stuck as the search goes on for ever. If I look under "Confirmed user", I get this: my name is not there. If I look under "Autochecked user", I get "No user found". I have never had this trouble before. When I changed my username some months ago I had no trouble looking up whether the new name was available. (I changed from P123ct1 to P-123.) ~ P-123 (talk) 11:12, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

"limit=5000" asks the server to display 5000 user names, so it will take some time. To see yourself listed, you will have to change the "Group" option to "(all)" because you are neither a "Confirmed" user nor an "Autochecked" user - you are auto-confirmed, which is different from both of these. Right. You have no manually assigned user rights so you only appear under "(all)" which is the default setting at Special:Listusers. See Wikipedia:User access levels#Autoconfirmed and confirmed users. When reporting a perceived problem, please say what is wrong. PrimeHunter (talk) 11:56, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

John of Reading: Thanks. I suppose the reason why it did not take so long when checking for already used usernames when changing my username was that I did this via the "change username" help page which must have had a limit set lower than 5,000. Very simple. If you don't want the limit to be 5000, remove the "&limit=5000" from the url. Change it from http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3AListUsers&username=P-123&group=confirmed&limit=5000 to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3AListUsers&username=P-123&group=confirmed . --David Biddulph (talk) 12:21, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

It depends what the perceived problem was. We spend a lot of time trying to guess what problem a user has (and which page it is with but you did say that). If the page loaded then you could for example have said "My username is missing", or give another specific name which is missing. "Certain usernames are missing" would have been too vague without an example. If the page didn't load then say that. The default limit at Special:ListUsers is 50. You somehow got to a url saying limit=5000: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3AListUsers&username=P123&group=confirmed&limit=5000. You can change 5000 manually in the url. It can be any number from 1 to 5000. There is usually also a list of options "(20 | 50 | 100 | 250 | 500)", for example in [1], but the options were omitted in your example because all users matching the search were already shown. If you remove limit=5000 completely then you get the default 50. PrimeHunter (talk) 12:38, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Worldcat library count

(replacing this post which only lasted three minutes before being deleted, likely by accident) Dear editors: Can someone please provide me with an example of a page in which Worldcat shows how many libraries a book is in, and tell me how to obtain this information? I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for but on this WorldCat book page (excuse my using Fifty Shades of Grey as an example), under the section "Find a copy in the library", it reads "Displaying libraries 1-6 out of 2622 for all 129 editions". Thanks. It seems that it won't tell you how many copies there are until you enter your location. I just put in the name of any city then I could see what I presume is the number of libraries in order of distance from that location. Copyright infringement

Hello,

Yesterday I tried to add information to the article on N. Gopalaswami Ayyangar. I found some biographical information in "The Hindu" which I used in its entirety but I cited the information. I got a message that the information in my sandbox page (shyamw1/sandbox) was deleted because of copyright infringement. I would like some guidance on how I may add to this article without violating copyright. I am really interested in editing this article as I am his great granddaughter and have access to some personal information through my family. How does one cite such information in Wikipedia? Any guidance you can provide me regarding edits/additions to the article will be deeply appreciated.

Removing Orphan tag

Hello, I just published my first Wikipedia article, and there is a tag that it is an "orphan article":https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landry_%26_Kling Currently, there are no Wikipedia articles linking to Landry & Kling. Can I have the tag removed? Mmckeoneditor (talk) 19:21, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

No, don't remove the tag until there are links to this article from other articles, and it is no longer orphaned. RudolfRed (talk) 19:26, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Hello Mmckeoneditor, I just linked the page Keith Wyness to the orphan article you created. I think this may allow you to remove the orphan article tag but wait to see if the others agree as I am not familiar how many links are needed to de-orphan. Centering text with background color in tables?

Hello, on my page WWII Puppet States, I am attempting to make a table with centered text with a colored background, however, when I center the text the color goes away. Here is a snippet of my problem:

|style="text-align: center" |bgcolor=lightgreen|1921-08-14 is wrong: you have an extra |. it should be:

|style="text-align: center" bgcolor=lightgreen|1921-08-14

But bgcolor is obsolete, so use:

|style="text-align: center; background-color: lightgreen" |1921-08-14

But it looks like you want the background color for the table all green, if so, then put the style in the table declaration:

{| class="wikitable" style="background-color: lightgreen"

But if you want different backgrounds for each row, put it in the row declaration instead:

|- style="background-color: lightgreen"

Was that not demonstrated in the examples above? Your issue is that you're putting an additional | character, and the software interprets that as an indication that the following text should go inside the table cell. Just simply combine your style rules in one set of quotations, separated by semicolons:

...
