Edit Article[edit]

Hi,

Yesterday I have edited a page at Wikipedia and everything was going fine. I finished the editing and then saved the article and it was live there everybody could see it, because I've tried it from different places. Today when I search for that article, everything that I have edited was deleted and the the information was as it used to be before I have edited it? Why did this happened, I even didn't receive any email or warning? When I saved the article every time the notification was all right, SAVED with green light. Can someone let me know why did this happened? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Drilonasd (talkcontribs) 07:45, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It is useful if you provide a wikilink to the page in question. I assume that you might be referring to Professional Evaluation and Certification Board? If you look at the article's history you will see that another editor reverted your change, and used the edit summary "Revert to less promotional version". It might have been wise for the editor who reverted your change to have put a message on your user talk page. A further problem with your edit was that you included numerous misplaced external links. I have added a few useful links in a Welcome message on your user talk page. --David Biddulph (talk) 07:53, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You were told that you should not add external links, but you added them again. I have reverted your edits again. Are you working for the PECB? If so, you need to make the conflict of interest disclosure and probably the Paid editing disclosure. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:17, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

create a book[edit]

Hello. I would like to know about book creating. yesterday I have created a book from the articles, but today I cannot find it in my accout. Can you help me to find it? Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sandipotta (talkcontribs) 07:47, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot find any book that you have created. Is it possible that you were not logged in when you created it, and so edited as an anonymous IP editor? Alternatively, is it possible that you failed to save your creation? Dbfirs 15:34, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As your account is not autoconfirmed you would not be able to save in Book namespace, so would only have been allowed to save in your userspace, see Help:Books#Saving and sharing your book with others. Perhaps you didn't try that option? --David Biddulph (talk) 15:59, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Can I add just a section to my watchlist[edit]

Some project pages continually fill up with new topics (sections).

I'm just interested in one of them. Can I add a specific section to y watchlist and only get notifications to edits, and not the daily edits of the page as a whole?

Equally important, I would like this Q be answered on the Watchlist help page.

Even a simple

Q. Can I add sections or parts of pages to my Watchlist. A. No

would suffice. Thanks CapnZapp (talk) 08:57, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This question has been asked and answered a few times at Help talk:Watchlist, for example at Help talk:Watchlist/Archive 6#Watching a section only?. --David Biddulph (talk) 09:04, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You must be joking, David. The link you provide actually presents the same question but NO answer. The section of the archive is from 2010 and the reply there is 'maybe some day in a future' (precisely: 'This is planned in the LiquidThreads, but who knows when they will be implemented'). So better give a short answer 'yes' or 'no' or 'I have no idea' instead of redirecting OP to seek the answer where there isn't any. --CiaPan (talk) 10:06, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
PS
AFAIK the answer is 'no', but actually 'I have no idea'. CiaPan (talk)
The answer is no. The question David linked was answered with "maybe in the future with LiquidThreads", and clicking through to mw:LiquidThreads tells you that that project was ceased. —  crh 23  (Talk) 10:11, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am planning something different with whom I need to contact for record or to note or to update in Wikipedia[edit]

Hi....

I have a plan to different thing....i will sure need To be recognized. With whom I have to contact to update in wiki — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sasidharhuge123 (talkcontribs) 09:13, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

...What? Maybe the information you're looking for is in either WP:Notability, WP:NOTPROMOTION, or WP:Conflict of interest. Ian.thomson (talk) 09:17, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You're looking for this, in all likelihood: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump (note: perhaps use a translation service from your native language for future posts)..68.48.241.158 (talk) 14:46, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It would have been clearer if 68.48.241.158 had given a wikilink to Wikipedia:Village pump rather than the url https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump . --David Biddulph (talk) 15:13, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Page view layout[edit]

I have searched, but am unable to find the answer to my question.

Over the past week, my Chrome browser formats the Wikipedia pages appear as text and do not have the typical Wikipedia format, or style. There are no boxes. There is no summary on the right-side of the page and no color -- just text. How do I correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bones0816 (talkcontribs) 17:38, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Bones0816: Try to clear your entire cache. PrimeHunter (talk) 19:24, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lina Joseph P Karam[edit]

Hi i am Lina Joseph P Karam,or Lina j karam, and i am trying to show you that my name appeared in all Italian newspaper recently, please check on my website www.linakaram.com,"revue de presse"....La repiblica, vogue it,marie claire it,blog of correre della sera ,elle it....talk about me....you can check!!! ....please let me know,if you can edit ?Lina Joseph P Karam (talk) 19:15, 11 May 2016 (UTC)thanks in advance to respond.[reply]

@Lina Joseph P Karam: WP:BASIC describes the basic requirements for a person to be considered notable enough to include in Wikipedia. You would need to show that you have received significant coverage in multiple reliable sources. A passing mention of you, of which some of your press clippings seem to comprise, isn't enough.
Regardless of that, it's not a good idea to write about yourself, for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU and Wikipedia:Autobiography. --Drm310 (talk) 19:43, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ok,thanks!!!a newspaper wants to have a full interview with me ....soon!! i will contact you then thanksLina Joseph P Karam (talk) 19:50, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

An interview with "a newspaper" is unlikely to get you through WP:GNG criteria. -- ChamithN (talk) 20:20, 11 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
One way to look at this, Lina Joseph P Karam, is that, as with any subject, Wikipedia is not interested in what you or your associates say about yourself, whether on your website, in an interview, or by editing directly here. If Wikipedia is to have an article on you it must be based almost entirely on what people who have no connection with you have published about you. If there is little or no information about you published by people unconnected with you, then an article on you will not be accepted, no matter who writes it or how it is written. Sorry. --ColinFine (talk) 20:49, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
