Shital V Yadav[edit]

I don't Know why blocked me by Seraphimblade

If you are User:Shital V Yadav (you haven't signed your question, so I'm not sure), there are explanations on your talk page of why you've been blocked. Maproom (talk) 07:04, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Invisible changes[edit]

Is it possible to make a change invisible to all users including administrators? Dr Salvus 06:19, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Salvus: yes. Oversighters can supress edits in a way they are hidden frm normal admins. Edits supressed by oversight are still visible to oversighters. See WP:RFO for how to contact them. Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 06:42, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Binance.com Flare Drop[edit]

Dear Binance / Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binance Binance.com is accepting the XRP/Flare Spark drop which is solely based on a formula calculated by using its client's XRP deposits and not distributing to its US Customers. This is against the rules of the Flare Drop and it should not profit from such activities. I would like to make mention of this and the class action that is forming.Abehonest (talk) 07:24, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Abehonest, this is not the place to contact Binance (though I wouldn't be surprised if they keep an eye on the WP-article about them). Go to Talk:Binance, and make a suggestion in the form of "I suggest we add this text based on these WP:Reliable sources." And no WP:OR. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:54, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fonts change due to update[edit]

I don't know about my question. Is this the place to ask it? Recently (starting a few weeks ago), there was some kind of system? update/improvement that has created troublesome effects on my Android tablet, effects that I have not seen in several years of happy use of such tablets. I haven't checked this out on other machines.

The problem is with font sizes. They jump about. The problem is also evident in the rendering of LaTeX math formulas.

This kind of thing is far beyond my paygrade. I guess that millions of users have noticed it. I fear it may disrupt formatting of mathematical notations.Chjoaygame (talk) 09:07, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Chjoaygame I'm not clear on how your question pertains to Wikipedia. This is not a general help desk. You could try the Reference Desk. 331dot (talk) 09:53, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
{{Chjoaygame}} It may be the issue at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 188#Text size changes in references on mobile device? and Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 188#What does it mean when a table column font has an unwanted enbiggenment not commanded by wikitext? PrimeHunter (talk) 10:45, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your replies. I think it pertains to Wikipedia for two reasons. 1. the only time I see such a problem seems to be when I use Wikipedia. 2. One Wikipedia editor has been troublesomely editing math fonts, giving as his reason a problem that to me seems likely to be the one I am drawing attention to.Chjoaygame (talk) 11:14, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Primehunter, I went to the linked Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 188#Text size changes in references on mobile device?, thank you. I couldn't quite work out what was going on; perhaps it might be a similar problem, but I think it is different, because that one has been annoying him forever, while this is new for me. My reason for bringing up is just my reason 2. above, that it seems to me that it might be causing such troublesome Wikipedia font edits as I mentioned. It is a new problem for me, tedious but not disabling; I have been using my Android tablets for years with no such problem, till this recent "improvement"/ update.Chjoaygame (talk) 11:33, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This kind of thing is far beyond my paygrade. Likely a future update of something will fix it.Chjoaygame (talk) 21:59, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pic shows in preview but not article[edit]

Is this a bug? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fremont,_California is displaying the text "[ [File:New Teslas at the factory.jpg|thumb|Tesla Factory (2012) in South Fremont]] " instead of the picture. (I added a space after the [ to show it here.) Saulinpa (talk) 13:25, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Saulinpa, something which works in preview but not in the article often indicates that there is a problem in a previous section which is affecting the code in the section you are looking at. When you preview a section the preview ignores code outside the section. In this case there was an image without closing square brackets in the previous section, so I removed it. TSventon (talk) 13:46, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
TSventon, thanks for the explanation and thanks for the fix. Saulinpa (talk) 17:00, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Weird preview problem (pop ups)[edit]

When I point my mouse at Battle of Baku the pop up displays the title and then just }}. I assume this is a problem with the monster infobox on the page, but I'm buggered if I can find it. Can anyone help? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by DuncanHill (talkcontribs)

A search of the rendered page (Ctrl+F in many browsers) showed a rendered }} in the infobox. Removing it [1] fixed the issue. PrimeHunter (talk) 16:18, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question not yet answered[edit]

I wrote this question, but no answer yet. Why? --2001:B07:6442:8903:841A:8C3F:C930:F2DA (talk) 15:25, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You don't say which question, but the usual answer is "because none of the volunteers here with a knowledge of the subject has seen the question and/or had time to answer it yet". Britmax (talk) 15:35, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Britmax: the question is on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical)#Job_hard_to_complete . Category:Latest stable software release templates have a lot of versions to update... What can be done to simplify the work? I think to transfer to Wikidata, it is very simple to manage the release versions on Wikidata. You can check this source code. On the Italian Wikipedia, the template Software have the Stable release parameter with empty value, the value come from Wikidata. Maybe on the Infobox software template could be use template for call version value from Wikidata. And I attempted to repost the question for improve visibility, but the repost was deleted. If I dont repost the question, nobody can see the question and will be remain without answer forever... --2001:B07:6442:8903:841A:8C3F:C930:F2DA (talk) 15:42, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Britmax (talk) 16:36, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe you should make this suggestion at Template talk:Infobox software? Chuntuk (talk) 11:22, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Federal Circuit[edit]

Hello,

On the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_courts_of_appeals link can you add the following TWO links under Federal Circuit (Washington)...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District_of_Columbia_Court_of_Appeals

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superior_Court_of_the_District_of_Columbia

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Dequanhargrove (talkcontribs)

I'm not sure that would be correct. User:BD2412 replies to posts at Talk:United States courts of appeals and may know. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:06, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
