Placement of {{notelist}}[edit]

Is there a guideline on where to place {{notelist}}? I understand that in most cases it would be in a Notes section near the end per MOS:NOTES.

But there are many articles that only use {{efn}} to explain entries within a table, with many other tables following it before you can reach the end of the article. In some of these cases, I put the {{notelist}} right under the only table that used it. I did that for ease of reading, but I wonder if I should stick with the customary placement near the end of the article instead. Aithus (talk) 02:28, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Aithus: I put a table-specific notelist directly under the table, and a main notelist just above the main reflist. You can have multiple notelists using the "group" syntax, so I use a separate notelist for each table when this is necessary. -Arch dude (talk) 05:38, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OTT's original web series Pages addition on Wikipedia[edit]

Hi, i want to know that can OTT platform create its upcoming original web series's wikipedia pages from the official account? if yes, what is the process? Please help me with the question Gupta.shalu (talk) 08:26, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Gupta shalu. I have no idea what OTT platform is, and I'm not motivated to go and look. But I can answer you in general terms:
  1. It is strongly discouraged for any person or organisation to create an article about themselves or their activities
  2. Upcoming events and creations very rarely meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability: wait until there has been significant independent material published about it.
  3. An article (on any subject) should be almost entirely based on independent coverage. A small amount of uncontroversial factual information can come from "the official account", but Wikipedia is not interested in what the subject of an article says or wants to say about themselves, or what their associates say about them. Wikipedia is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject, and who have not been prompted or fed information on behalf of the subject, have chosen to publish about the subject in reliable sources.
  4. Promotion of any kind is forbidden on Wikipedia.
Please see the pages linked in blue for more information about any of these points. ColinFine (talk) 09:00, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted page[edit]

Wikipedia deleted my page for no reason which i worked on for very long i want it back now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chardley Eben (talkcontribs) 08:39, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It is hard to help you if you don't tell us what page you are talking about. It is very unlikely that a page would have been deleted without your being notified on your user talk page, but it may have been moved somewhere. ColinFine (talk) 09:03, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Chardley Eben The page User:Chardley Eben was deleted by Explicit under criterion WP:U5, Blatant misuse of Wikipedia as a web host, so if you need more explanation, you could ask at User talk:Explicit. TSventon (talk) 09:14, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Having looked at the deleted user page, it appeared to me to be an attempt to masquerade as an article on a non-Wikinotable person. Deletion of the user page was entirely correct. Mjroots (talk) 13:24, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Chardley Eben: you may be confused about the purpose of a user page. See WP:USERPAGE. A user page is not a Wikipedia article, and it is not supposed to look like one. -Arch dude (talk) 15:30, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

why en.m.wikipedia.org dont have a dark mode?[edit]

why? Nitinojhaishere (talk) 13:36, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Nitinojhaishere: The mobile-subdomain is not much more than the main version using the MinervaNeue skin (see skin selection in your preferences). So you can build your own dark mode by simply adding custom CSS to User:Nitinojhaishere/minerva.css that changes the colors of this skin. That way, you can use dark mode on mobile and still use a normal skin like Vector or MonoBook on desktop. You can use the CSS invert() filter property for an easy dar kmode without much coding required (see User:SoWhy/minerva.css). Regards SoWhy 14:38, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it's something like img, video, body { filter: hue-rotate(180deg) invert(1); } to make the buttons and images the right color. Note the hue rotate. weeklyd3 (message me | my contributions) 16:53, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What phone are you using? Most mobile phones these days have a dark mode setting. Google it. Shantavira|feed me 15:02, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Hirut Bekele[edit]

I need an instance review or aid to Draft:Hirut Bekele because it was submitted 27 days ago and as addressed by reviewers, I deleted some non encyclopedic contents to make neutral and adding additional citations. If is not sufficient, please remove only unsourced statements. The Supermind (talk) 16:42, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@The Supermind: See the note on the draft: "Review waiting, please be patient. This may take 4 months or more, since drafts are reviewed in no specific order. There are 2,736 pending submissions waiting for review" There are lots of drafts, few reviewers, and drafts are not reviewed in any particular order. You just need to be patient and wait. You can continue to work on improving the draft while you wait for review. RudolfRed (talk) 16:48, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, The Supermind. Your draft includes material copied directly from your sources, which is a copyright violation. You need to summarize and paraphrase the content in your own words. A few direct quotations can be included but they must be in quotation marks and followed by an inline reference to the source. Cullen328 (talk) 17:08, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@The Supermind Did you take the second picture yourself? 71.228.112.175 (talk) 07:21, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalize academic degrees and courses of study?[edit]

I can't find any guide on when to capitalize academic degrees and courses of study (or not). Please direct me. Thank you. I am at a loss, even though I have BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 17:53, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

BeenAroundAWhile, I suggest that you ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Higher education. -- Hoary (talk) 23:46, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate links and Row Spans[edit]

SVG file logo for the Ethiopian Federal Police[edit]

How can I use SVG logo file using vector images for the Ethiopian Federal Police. I need serious help because the Ethiopian Federal Police currently has coat of arms image instead of logo in the infobox, and want to replace with the official logo one. The Supermind (talk) 22:51, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@The Supermind: Are you sure that coat of arms is not also their logo? I clicked on their site and that's all that appears. If there's a logo on another page, please link the page here. TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 00:32, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Timtempleton: This one (the yellow color) is the official logo of Federal Police. The Supermind (talk) 04:22, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
