The list of "Battles fought by Marathas under Sambhaji" is incomplete there are some battles should add[edit]

As in "Battle fought by Sambhaji" page there is a battle should add as that is present at Wikipedia! The battle should add :- Battle of Wai Aryan330 (talk) 04:44, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Aryan330: That is a category – you can add[[Category:Battles fought by Marathas under Sambhaji]]to the bottom of the Battle of Wai page, and it will be added to the category. I've done it for you this time. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 05:57, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much sir for your time! Aryan330 (talk) 06:03, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

St. Kitts and Nevis Visa Free Countries[edit]

Hi. Please update the page. South Korea is not anymore visa free for the subject country's passport. Learned it the hard way when the passenger was not accepted to fly in the airport due to no visa. Thanks 83.110.85.222 (talk) 07:00, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Which article are you referring to? The place to propose this is the talk page of the relevant article. You will need to cite a reliable published source. Shantavira|feed me 08:28, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Creating a new article when there is already a draft pending review[edit]

Hi there! I'd like to create an article on the topic of Song Huai-Kuei (aka Madame Song). However, as I was about to do so (having finished drafting the article in my sandbox), I saw that there is already a draft of an article on the same topic submitted by someone else that has been pending review for about 3-4 months. I haven't encountered this situation before - am I able to go ahead and publish my article even though this draft is already there, as I have no way of knowing when that review will be done?

Thanks in advance! Ellenoredsson (talk) 12:22, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You are free to create the article if you wish and are confident it would survive deletion processes, you have no obligation to wait for the result of the draft review. I might consider if it would be a good idea to discuss the situation with the editors of the draft, but you are free to create the article. 331dot (talk) 12:27, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The AFC process is not mandatory (except for COI/PAID and non-autoconfirmed), so it's permitted to simply move any draft to mainspace if one wishes to (though the helper script is convenient for cleaning up the templates and whatnot). Of course, if there are multiple drafts it's preferred to let everyone know in some way so that AfC reviewers don't try to review something unnecessarily, and the creator of the other draft can add things to the new article if they wanted to. Convenience links:
If you're more comfortable working on a draft or uncertain if your version is ready for being a live article, you could edit the draft yourself. That could help give a better overall article if the existing one has material, organization, or formatting tricks that yours does not. DMacks (talk) 17:23, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Flag page for removal[edit]

How do I flag a page for removal?

The page had been cited as "opinion" since 2018. There were multiple requests for citations which have not been added.

I attempted to edit the page with current research and citations whiled deleting the "opinion." My changes were blocked by a user with knowledge of the subject given their "history."

This needs to be reported and removed. 2603:7000:8A00:730A:688B:2697:4B0E:DDFB (talk) 12:40, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The content of the encyclopedia is reffered to as articles, not pages. If you are referring to Compassion fatigue in journalism, you should first discuss your concerns on the article talk page (Talk:Compassion fatigue in journalism) to attempt to reach a consensus. If that fails, there are dispute resolution processes to go through. I don't see any grounds to propose the deletion of the article- which is usually done if the topic does not meet the relevant notability criteria. A source being an opinion does not in and of itself preclude its use on Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 12:45, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

changing font size options[edit]

Is there a way to change the font size of the Wikipedia page? At least for Safari on iPad, I can choose between the font sizes: small, regular, large and extra large. I used to be able to make this font size option for other browsers on the desktop as well. Currently I don't have this option for Brave on desktop, Chrome on desktop nor Brave on iPad. @DesolateReality: Does holding down the Ctrl key and pressing - or + to shrink or enlarge, respectively, work? —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 13:36, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@DesolateReality: If you go to Special:MyPage/common.css and edit the page, you can add the text #content { font-size: 1rem; } to the page. 1rem is the default font size and you can adjust it however you like (decimal values work). That will only affect text in the main body of articles, not including sidebars and menus. You can see WP:CSS for more info. WPscatter t/c 05:26, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright Bot is asking about an image I posted for which I obtained permission from the owner[edit]

Hello

I've been adding information to the Schneider Kreuznach (camera lens) wiki page and recently found a lens on Ebay for sale that was not listed. I contacted the owner of the lens and asked permission to post one image from his ebay posting which he granted. The copyright bot sent me a message that includes the information I provided as described above, but indicated i had not provided a copyright tag. I have read the information provided - but don't understand which copyright tag i should use in this case.

Can someone help?

Thanks

Mike Dr Michael Ray Murphy (talk) 14:04, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am afraid that you having permission to post the image is (largely) irrelevant. The english Wikipedia accepts images only if one of the following hold true:
I currently do not see how any of them hold true. Note that Wikipedia considers media to be full "all rights reserved" copyright unless there is evidence to the contrary. Victor Schmidt (talk) 16:13, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What you would need to do in this case is get the coptright holder to agree to follow the procedure in donating copyright materials - you can't do it for them. ColinFine (talk) 16:15, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Legend for symbols and colors[edit]

i frequently look at countries for data and have noticed that Wikipedia uses standard symbols and colors that I have not been able to decipher. It seems like there must be a simple legend, but I can't find it. Could you help please? Connie144 (talk) 14:29, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Connie144: Wikipedia has articles about numerous types of data so standard colors would be impossible. Please link example pages you want help with. PrimeHunter (talk) 15:58, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why isn't there a list of dictators on wikipedia[edit]

Why isn't there a list of dictators on wikipedia YamanFB75 (talk) 15:14, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia had an article called list of dictators, however it was deleted after a discussion that agreed it violated the Wikipedia:Neutral point of view policy, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of dictators. If you click on list of dictators you will see the history in more detail. TSventon (talk) 15:36, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Someone being a "dictator" is often an opinion. Some call Joe Biden a dictator. It would be very difficult to have an objective list of dictators. 331dot (talk) 15:52, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
However we do have a list of European interwar dictatorships and several (generally agreed) dictators are listed at dictator. Shantavira|feed me 08:17, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There was also a Category of Dictators, which was deleted around the same time as the list, and for similar reasons. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 08:43, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to know who the torch runner was for the US Olympics that ran down US12 in Edwardsburg, MI? I have a picture of this person but do not know the persons name and I can't seem to find on Google or here who ran the torches and where their locations were.Thank you!! @Needtoknow81: here is a list of all 52 men and women of the American torch relay team during the 1980 Winter Olympics.  Spintendo  06:07, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Threads aren't automatically archiving.[edit]

Hello. I was fulfilling an edit request on Talk:List of highest-grossing Indian films, and I noticed that it had been over a year since the page had archived, although the period was set to 30 days. Cherrell410 (talk) 20:58, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Cherrell410: The archiving template was moved into a template parameter right after the last archiving.[1] I have moved it out.[2] PrimeHunter (talk) 21:46, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
