March 6[edit]

Regarding Cricket competition Wikipedia[edit]

Hi Team,

Some Mad person is updating the ICC 2020-2023 World cup super league points Table to Wrong Data. Actually South africa already awarded their 30 points to Australia and Same time Australia has awarded 30 points to Afghanistan. There is couple of more series canceled, so the points Table should be updated according to that. I had authority and updated it but some mad person threatened me to not to updated instead his updating is erroreneous one

Please update it accordingly — Preceding unsigned comment added by ManojDDesai (talkcontribs) 03:26, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You could try asking at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Cricket. See also WP:COMMUNICATE. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:29, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This page is for questions about Wikipedia-editing. Try asking at Wikipedia:Reference desk/Entertainment. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:31, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. Extras in Hollywood films are, by definition, uncredited and paid very little for the privilege of a few moments onscreen. Accordingly, there is rarely any way to establish that a specific person was an extra in a specific film. See Extra (acting) for details. Ensemble (musical theatre) describes a similar concept, although these performers get a little bit more respect. They have to show up day after day, not just once. Cullen328 (talk) 08:41, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The only website I'm aware of which covers movie cast lists in exhaustive detail is IMDB but even its listing for that film does not have your father's name. However, you may be able to add it there.... Mike Turnbull (talk) 13:27, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect formatting[edit]

Good morning, this paragraph was formatted wrongly: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janata_Party#/editor/15. JackkBrown (talk) 10:19, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@JackkBrown: That's a mobile edit link. The section is Janata Party#National Units. It had code from a confused edit [1]. I have removed the code [2] without examining the remaining statements and references. PrimeHunter (talk) 13:23, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How to write on new person or Organization[edit]

How to write about new person or organization that is not available on Wiki till date DigitalizedApex (talk) 13:09, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The answer to this is don't, particularly if you have a conflict of interest while doing this. If you would like to create a draft article to be reviewed by other users that is fine, but it should meet the guidelines for notability.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 13:16, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@DigitalizedApex: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia: It is not a venue for press releases or for any "embargoed" information: see WP:NOT. If a subject is notable by our definition, it deserves an article, otherwise not. Notability is defined as the availability of information about the subject in the general press (WP:N). You cannot predict when a particular non-notable subject will suddenly become notable. It is technically possible for you to write a proposed article as a sub-page of your user page. This page will not be a mainspace article. It will not be indexed by search engines and it will not be reviewed until you later submit it for review. However, since Wikipedia is designed for collaborative editing there is no way to prevent other editors from finding this article and reading it if they know where to look. -Arch dude (talk) 16:34, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Gaia EDR3 template issue[edit]

On TRAPPIST-1 it seems like the reference templates cannot see the Cite template and thus throw a red error. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 15:50, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see any errors in that article's references, despite there being a huge number of them. The Gaia EDR3 is ref 1 and looks fine to me. Are you getting something else? Mike Turnbull (talk) 16:01, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The red error comes from a personal script at line 3 of the editor's ~/common.js.
Trappist the monk (talk) 16:24, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You broke the link at this edit. That is perplexing. {{cite Gaia EDR3}} lists it's publication date as 2021 and also links to the Astronomy & Astrophysics article and erratum from the same year. So why did you change {{sfn|Brown|Vallenari|Prusti|de Bruijne|2021}} (note the year) to {{sfn|Gaia EDR3|2023}} (again, note the year)?

hi I want to change my user name can you please guide me[edit]

I want to change my user name R.OSMA zahid (talk) 16:23, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@R.OSMA zahid, Since this is your only WP-edit so far, the easiest way is to forget this account, never use it again, and make a new account with the name you want. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 16:24, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@R.OSMA zahid: You can go to Wikipedia:Changing username for more info, but like Gråbergs Gråa Sång said, it's easier to abandon this account and create another one. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 18:15, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ancestral Charts[edit]

What is the policy on including ancestral charts for a member of royalty or nobility of any country? Is there a site-wide policy? What specific types of sources need to be given? Can someone block you from including a chart on an historical figure’s article but themselves include a chart on another similar figure’s article? Do all historical figure’s articles follow the same policy? What is the standard to follow: local consensus or site wide policy? Would two articles of the same nature (eg. Maria Theresa of Austria and Maximilian I of Mexico) have two different standards of inclusion? Thank you. CMD007 (talk) 19:16, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See also this discussion for context. --130.111.39.47 (talk) 20:27, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, please do. See also:Talk:Maximilian I of Mexico CMD007 (talk) 20:37, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
These questions can be answered without bias. Or can they? CMD007 (talk) 20:45, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Six people have answered your questions, but since you do not like any of their responses, you label them biased or sockpuppets. Now you are forum shopping as well. Keep it up; an ANI thread has no length limit. Surtsicna (talk) 16:30, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That is untrue, NO ONE has directed me to WRITTEN policy or guidelines as to why two similar pages have different standards for inclusion based on two different sources “needed”. You are showing everyone that you can’t act mature, all the while trying to fluff up accusations while only one admin said that’s enough. CMD007 (talk) 20:14, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I won't comment on the conduct/behavioural issues which is concerning, but specifically regarding policies see WP:OTHERSTUFF, WP:CONSENSUS as policy reasons for why two articles may have diverging approaches. Sourcing quality also will also influence article variation. I hope you’re able to de-escalate and come to an amicable resolution with the other editors, regardless of what outcome follows ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 22:06, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This company has rebranded and has a new logo. How do i upload the logo to be able to show correct information to the audience. Nancycranston (talk) 22:24, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nancycranston Please see WP:UPIMAGE for the process to upload an image. 331dot (talk) 22:35, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Broken image[edit]

Any idea why the image isn't working at Ladies Musical Club (assuming it's broken in general, not just for me)? If you click through on it, everything seems fine, so there is no doubt that the image exists on Commons, and that the filename is correct. - Jmabel | Talk 23:27, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jmabel, the image works just fine for me on an Android smartphone. Cullen328 (talk) 23:34, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And now it's working for me. Probably was some sort of caching problem. - Jmabel | Talk 00:11, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
