Angels & Vietnam[edit]

Can anyone think of a book set during the Vietname war? It follows the story of a young black man and the word Angel is in the title. I believe it was published within the last ten years, more likely in the second half. --The Dark Side 00:08, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Most likely Fallen Angels (Myers novel), published in 1988. One of the main characters was from Harlem. fethers 03:28, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's it! Thank you. --The Dark Side 03:31, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Twin Peaks[edit]

I've been starting to watch the first season of Twin Peaks, but I wanted to know will there ever be any sort of conclusion to Laura Palmer's murder? I know the show was a little troubled with regard to whether or not to reveal the mystery, but I don't want to read too much for fear of spoilers, and I don't want to get too wrapped up in the story if there never will be any sort of payoff. zafiroblue05 | Talk 04:40, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations! You're watching what is arguably one of the best shows aired. The creepy atmospherics and utter lack of convention regarding pacing, plot, and story were a welcome breath of fresh air in 80's television. All I will say, to avoid spoiling anything, is keep watching! (And be advised that the feature-length movie, "Fire Walk With Me" was not a continuation of the series, nor did it really answer any unanswered questions, if I recall properly). 71.112.142.123 05:37, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
the killer is not revealed in season 1 in fact there is a major cliffhanger in the season finale. The much longer season 2 reveals the killer. I have read that Lynch wanted to leave it open ended but ABC forced a definitive conclusion to the series (I wish it was left undefinitive personnaly). The movie 'fire walk with me' also reveals the killer, i'd definitely save watching that until after you watch all the series. Also you need to get a hold of the 2 hour pilot which is not included on the season 1 dvd release. Season 2 is not available on dvd yet but is coming out on april 3rd in the US! It goes without saying that p2p networks have all the episodes available now.-- Diletante 00:43, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, if Zafiroblue bought the DVD in a PAL country, the first season will include the pilot. Pesapluvo 02:35, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What is the first movie to have an opening day midnight showing?[edit]

All-night theaters, such as the one in Westwood CA, have always opened shows at midnight on Thursday. I don't know how long they've been all-night. I know that the first time I went there in about 81 or 82 the last movie start time was around 4:00am. --Kainaw (talk) 19:12, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The question is specifically about the recent marketing trend whereby certain new films, often fantasy/SF films that appeal to nerds, have their premiere at midnight. There's a certain release date set and then the cinema shows the film at midnight so that they can show it as early as possible on that date. A similar thing happens with certain hotly anticipated new book and record releases, where the bookshops and record shops open at midnight on the day of release. I don't know the answer to the question, btw. --Richardrj talk email 12:47, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 13 Fall of the Haunted House of T-Rex of Monster Warriors[edit]

There is a character named Robbie, not one of the Monster Warriors, not a regular cast member. I was wondering what his real name is. Thanks! ;A response on my talk page would be greatly appreciated! Danke!100110100 05:33, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Masashi Kishimoto's E-Mail Address[edit]

Does the creator of Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto, have an e-mail address?

Yes. All authors for Shueisha have an email address, but they are not required to check it (or even to know how to check it). --Kainaw (talk) 17:50, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a way to find it? I'm a huge fan of his work. Non-existing user

Cartoon octopus?[edit]

Does anyone know of a cartoon of a blue octopus with a big head, short legs, and a little black top hat? I think the octopus rode around on a turtle who lived in his apartment building. The cartoon might be French, or maybe English, I can't remember.

Any help? − Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 21:18, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Was it perhaps the Oswald series? It can't be said too often: Cephalopods in general, and octopodes particularly are among the most fascinating creatures on earth. ---Sluzzelin 21:28, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Other cartoon octopus/squids include Hannah Barbara's Squiddly Diddly, Animaniac's Sid the Squid and Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants. Rmhermen 03:29, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Damn right! Thanks, Sluzzelin! − Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 04:27, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Friends, Romans, countrymen (and the rest of you riff raff)...[edit]

Lend me your ears. Another editor and I disagree as to what Les Nessman says in the classic WKRP in Cincinnati episode, "Turkeys Away". Please listen to the audio of the episode (at 2 min. 22 sec.) and tell us if he says "Oh, the humility..." or "Oh, the humanity..." Clarityfiend 22:13, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Humanity". It's a repeat of the words used by announcer Herbert Morrison at the classic explosion of the Hindenburg. Corvus cornix 23:24, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
With all humility, on behalf of all humanity (less one), I thank you. I win! I win! Clarityfiend 04:20, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Oh, the humanity" has also been spoofed on The Simpsons (but what hasn't?). JackofOz 04:28, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
