118 247 tune[edit]

The tune to the 118 247 advert sounds familiar but I can't quite remember where from. Anyone know please? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.24.14.146 (talk) 00:00, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jonti Picking basically ripped his tune from Magical Trevor and used it for much money in the advert he did, if you watch closely you can see Trevor making a cameo. Nanonic (talk) 00:22, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

dead bands?[edit]

what popular bands from the latter half of the 20th century now have no surviving members? 99.245.16.164 (talk) 00:25, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, one is the original Jimi Hendrix Experience. Deor (talk) 02:04, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The Ramones are getting close. Of the original band, only Tommy is still alive. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 02:37, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that with some bands the line-ups keep changing. Lynyrd Skynyrd might work in respect of their earlier line-ups, but Artimus Pyle is still alive from the classic line-up. --Richardrj talk email 08:07, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There's only One Top still with us, sadly. And if you believe some people, Ringo is the only surviving Beatle... Malcolm XIV (talk) 11:43, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Don't forget Pete Best. —Tamfang (talk) 07:26, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Baby[edit]

There is an electronic song that has the lyrics:

"Baby
You said so
That you tell me
That you love me"

or

"Baby
I said so
That you tell me
That you love me"

What is the name of this song and the artist?68.148.145.190 (talk) 02:21, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vichy Normaderm Commercial Song[edit]

What is the artist and the name of the song used in these commercials? As well as the English language commercial I couldn't find.

Oh, I found a Mandarin one: [4]

And the languages from top to bottom are German, Czech, & French.68.148.145.190 (talk) 03:11, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Creators of such commercials might not register the background sound as music, so there might be no artist or song. As they are always as short as the commercial it is impossible to publish such music. I know sometimes the music of commercials is beautiful but this is the illusion of very short compositions. --TudorTulok (talk) 10:20, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I found this on google but I can't open it. Zain Ebrahim (talk) 07:58, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
not wanting to be picky but is it really a good idea to have someone's personal details including her mum's name, number of children etc without permission of that individual? Gazhiley (talk) 11:26, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The United States Census records of 1940 will only become public in 2012, so that's no good.
You could try whitepages dot com, and search for all the people with that married name, or the hyphenated name if you know she used that. If you know whether she was naturalized as a United States citizen, there might be ways to find out through an immigration office, but that would only give you her address upon becoming a citizen.
Last, if you have the actual address, you *could* write to that address and address it to *name) or current occupant. Whether it would actually get you a reply, I don't know, but there would be a chance, anyway. Be sure to leave your e-mail int he letter, just in case, as that's a quicker way to be replied to than via mail,a nd less costly.209.244.30.221 (talk) 21:29, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Liverpool vs Chelsea[edit]

In the UEFA second leg of liverpool vs chelsea, does liverpool have to score 3 goals to make it through? If they beat chelsea 1-0 or 2-1, will they(liverpool) be out? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.71.49.145 (talk) 20:31, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Liverpool will have to win by three clear goals to go through to the next round. As the first leg was Liverpool 1–3 Chelsea, Liverpool can also force extra-time if the final score of the second leg is Chelsea 1–3 Liverpool at the end of normal time (thus canceling out Chelsea's away goal advantage). Nanonic (talk) 20:48, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Or if Liverpool win by two goals having scored at least 4 themselves (4-2, 5-3, etc.) they will go through. Recury (talk) 20:50, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the two replies above and would add that it's important to note that the comment which is often mentioned by supporters and some commentators that "away goals count double" is factually and logically nonsense/untrue/ridiculous. Chelsea's three goals at Anfield have not given them a 6-1 lead to-date. Because if Liverpool score four at Stamford Bridge (worth 8 according to this notion) and Chelsea score three (worth "just" 3), the theory says the score would be Liverpool 9 Chelsea 9, but in reality it would be Liverpool 5 Chelsea 6... and Chelsea go through on aggregate. --Dweller (talk) 12:44, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
