James Bond 007[edit]

According to British copyright law, in what year will James Bond enter public domain? 24.5.122.13 (talk) 04:25, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Be sure you get you terms correct. There are many different forms of intellectual property, and the character or brand of James Bond is covered by different sorts of intellectual property rights than specific works containing those characters. If you mean "when does the first work to contain James Bond come off copyright"' the first James Bond story, Casino Royale (novel) was published in 1953. According to Copyright law of the United Kingdom, that specific work comes off copyright 70 years after the death of the author. Fleming died in 1964, meaning his writings become public domain in 2034. Other Bond stories by different authors, or the various films, will have different expiration dates. --Jayron32 04:40, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, by 2034 the law may have changed. --50.100.189.160 (talk) 05:09, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I'll hang around.  :-P 24.5.122.13 (talk) 06:00, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Klose was born in the Silesian city of Opole, Lincolnshire. Both of his parents were prostitutes". Is it a joke?? 81.240.204.230 (talk) 08:14, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It was vandalism, thanks for spotting it. I've reverted it. --Viennese Waltz 08:21, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
