What is the longest gap between a film and its sequel?[edit]

I don't know for sure, but there was a 35-year gap between Blade Runner (1982) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017). So any gap less than 35 years isn't going to be the answer. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 20:10, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Romanophile: How are you defining sequel? Does the gap between Return_of_the_Jedi (episode 6) and Star_Wars:_The_Force_Awakens (episode 7) count?
