Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/2010 December 28

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Please review my first Wikipedia article about UK entrepreneur Charles Ejogo, winner of the first episode of Dragons Den in the UK. I have made the relevant changes to attribute statements with sound references and am hoping the article is ready to go live.

I've never made an article before and I really have no desire to make another one, I just thought it was an article that needed to be made. I'm sure it's not very good, I know it's super short but it's the best I could do, so any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure you add more internal links. Also, you may want to use citation templates to easily create references that are similar to those in other articles. Guoguo12--Talk--  01:34, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, if there's not much to say about this particular event, have you considered WP:MERGEing it, or at least mentioning it in the article about the county (Robeson County), which doesn't seem to mention it at all? WhatamIdoing (talk) 22:31, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Please note: This article has been deleted. It was a word-for-word copy of an article deleted as a result of a deletion discussion, and this user has now been blocked as a sockpuppet. Beeblebrox (talk) 02:28, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article was really hard to make, am a writer, it took me about 3 hours.. Ron is really famous in Europe & Florida. Soon he well be in Hollywood. Www.RonRafael.Com People could use Wikipedia to find stuff about him instead of Google (His also on Google). MarieA 01:01, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

She is the one

I'm really new to this >.> Sorry if I appear noobish. I thought I'd write an article on Shanadoo's debut album, seeing as none of their albums have pages. Of course there's no album art up yet, I can't upload anything yet.

But have I done alright, for a first try at least?

Edit: I found out how to add images, so they're added. Permission to have the new article tag removed?

Letsgetglam (talk) 14:59, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article looks great, although it could use some more inline references in the "Information" and "Singles" sections. Otherwise, the article is a lot better than most new articles. Guoguo12--Talk--  01:26, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'll get right onto that :) Letsgetglam (talk) 03:06, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone review this? References added this time

Charles28932 (talk) 15:22, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New article created a few weeks ago. I've cleaned it up some and added a photo. It still has the "New Article" tag that someone placed on it, and I didn't think I should remove that myself. Dunncon13 (talk) 16:05, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You've got a good start, and The Birmingham News is a good reliable source. The bare URLs need to be turned into proper bibliographic citations, to prevent WP:Linkrot.
I'm not sure that the topic really qualifies for an article all to itself. Is there really a whole article's worth of potential information there?
I think it might end up getting WP:MERGEd into the city's article. (Given the size of the main city article, perhaps a new article to list all of the parks, named something like List of parks in Birmingham, Alabama, would be more appropriate.) What do you think? Is there much more to say about this park? WhatamIdoing (talk) 22:03, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's obviously just a stub at this point, but more can be added. I will try to do that myself as I have time, or hopefully other people will too. Many other urban parks have their own articles, so I don't know why this one would only merit inclusion in a list or in the main city article. Centennial Olympic Park, for instance, which is similar in size, has a nice article about the park itself, distinct from the separate article about the bombing that happened there. Railroad Park has received LOTS of media coverage, sustained for months, in a variety of sources. There's even a book that features it: Tom Leader Studio Three Projects. I didn't think notability would be an issue here, but if it is I can add more references. Dunncon13 (talk) 23:56, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Does this meet satisfaction for including into Wikipedia or do I need more sources?

Christopherjmartin (talk) 20:40, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you definitely need more sources. Specifically, you need WP:Independent sources, meaning sources that were not written by the subject himself. If Mounce is the only person who has ever written anything about Mounce, then Wikipedia should not have an article about him.
Additionally, as a matter of style, people are referred to by their last names ("Mounce") rather than by the academic or professional titles ("Dr Mounce").

Please review this initial post for the artist Kate Vrijmoet. The images are going through the approval process by the artist and Wikimedia. Once approved, the plan is to move this article into the public domain. Suggestions welcome. Skyedogs (talk) 21:21, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please help make this article as good -- and as appropriate -- as it can be. All suggestions appreciated.

OpenMinds2010 (talk) 21:40, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Overall, it looks okay.
I've broken it up into sections; please feel free to adjust them as necessary. This also creates space for a proper introduction, which I've just barely begun for you. I hope you'll expand it.
You might like to build the web by creating links to other articles. I've done that for a few things, as an example.
Good luck! WhatamIdoing (talk) 22:16, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
