Unnecessary Lua module, can be implemented in wikitext using a #switch statement + only used in creator's userspace. * Pppery * it has begun... 22:30, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete It's trivial to implement in wikitext, and is currently unused. ‑‑Trialpears (talk) 11:02, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Module:JsonEncode[edit]

The result of the discussion was Delete; deleted as G7 by Anthony Appleyard (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) AnomieBOT 07:05, 5 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unused (except on its own talk page, which is being misused as testcases), and I see no conceivable usecase. Given that it is intended to be called from Wikitext (as shown by it taking a frame as an argument), one cannot pass anything except strings to mw.text.jsonEncode. All that function appears to do when given a string is backslash-escape backslashes and quotes. In the unlikely event a template wanted to do that, it would be much clearer to use Module:String, rather than cryptically relying on JSON. * Pppery * it has begun... 22:13, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please do delete. I intended to create this page on Wikidata, as a helper for creating the input to an external service. It has no foreseeable utility on Wikipedia indeed! Paul Dehaye (talk) 22:20, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Patience[edit]

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the template below. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the template's talk page or in a deletion review).

The result of the discussion was merge to Template:Patience. (non-admin closure) ‑‑Trialpears (talk) 11:04, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Propose merging Template:Patience with Template:Solitaire.
{{Patience}} is "Patience or Solitaire by type", {{Solitaire}} is "Patience or solitaire (US) by family". There's some disparity in which games are listed, but I think they're both trying to do the same thing. {{Patience}} is more organised but missing a few of the games that appear in the other template. Would suggest expanding {{Patience}} with those games and redirecting the other template to it. Lord Belbury (talk) 11:45, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong support. I think that makes a lot of sense. They are trying to do much the same thing. {{Patience}} uses the categorizations by David Parlett, the card historian and card game expert, and is pretty comprehensive as he's analysed a huge number of patience/solitaire games. If this is the consensus; I'm happy to help with the merge and ensure we don't lose any article links. Bermicourt (talk) 17:09, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
