Initiative featured at teaching and learning conference[edit]

Attending the SoTL Commons, the scholarship of teaching and learning conference in Statesboro, Georgia, this week? So are members of the Public Policy Initiative team! Research Analyst Amy Roth and Communications Associate LiAnna Davis will present a 45-minute workshop on preliminary results from the fall term on Friday at 9 a.m. local time. Amy and LiAnna will also be at a Wikipedia booth in the exhibit hall between sessions to talk with professors. Learn more about the conference.

Register for Wikipedia in higher education workshop[edit]

Wikipedia will also be present at the Writing in Motion: Traversing Public/Private Spaces computers and writing conference at the University of Michigan on May 19-22. Campus Ambassador Adrianne Wadewitz and Wikimedia Foundation Education Programs Manager Rod Dunican will be leading a three-hour pre-conference workshop titled "Wiki-writing: Teaching with Wikipedia." JMU students hard at work on articles[edit]

James Madison University students in Professor Cindy Allen's Professional and Technical Editing course have begun adding content to their Wikipedia articles. Each student chose a public policy topic to write on, and the students have been expanding the articles over the last few weeks. More than 40 articles have benefitted from these students' attention.
