Wikipedia talk:Article Referencing Drive

Hello, folks. Since the goal of the ARD and the biweekly special article I made a while back on Wikipedia:WikiProject Fact and Reference Check are quite similar, I've decided to 'steal' your articles on a biweekly basis ;) We don't have a voting system there, so it's wonderful that you guys have set this up.

The reason for taking the articles on a biweekly basis (i.e. we will take every other article you pick) is that we like to focus on referencing as much as possible. If it turns out that one week is enough, I can always change that later, but right now most members seem to be a bit inactive.

Feel free to comment on our WikiProject talk page if you have any questions/comments/concerns! (if it's a more personal question, don't hesitiate to leave a note on my talk page) -Frazzydee| 04:41, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! Also be sure to link to WP:ARD from the WikiProject so that the population of this collaboration can grow. —this is messedrocker (talk) 11:14, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I'll definitely link. You're very welcome, but there's no need for thanks; I'd consider this a mutually beneficial relationship. We have may have better membership right now, but you guys seem to have a good system for finding unreferenced articles- something we're seriously lacking. By the way, when is the next article update for the ARD planned? -Frazzydee| 13:04, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm considering either October 27 or November 3, depending on how popular ARD gets between now and the 27th. —this is messedrocker (talk) 19:14, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coordination with FA Review[edit]

Many of the FAs being reviewed are older nominations from the so-called "'brilliant prose' days" of '04 and earlier, when the referencing criteria for FAs were not as specific and strict as today. A number of the FAs under review do not have any references at all: just a ==References== section heading followed by the {{Unreferenced}} tag. This was the case with the current ARD, Spacecraft propulsion, but it holds true for several other FAs under review and FFAs as well. So, I certainly see the possibility of mutual benefit from coordination between the two projects. -Fsotrain09 16:24, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Of course! In fact, what you could do is take a list of the oldest Featured Articles, evaluate its sourcing situation, then put it up for FAR and ARD simultaneously. MESSEDROCKER 01:00, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is anyone actually referencing?[edit]

Islam has been the ARD article for some time now, but I haven't noticed any referencing improvements. Is anyone actually referencing these articles? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 23:37, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
