Season 14 Finalist Pages

I was wondering if I could make pages for all of the finalists. Queens like Kerri Colby and Kornbread have their own pages, and both placed relatively low on season 14. There is already a page for Bosco and Lady Camden (I created one earlier today), so I should be allowed to make pages for the rest of the finalists (Daya Betty, Willow Pill, and Angeria Paris VanMichaels). Thoughts on this? TatiVogue (talk) 18:45, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

The primary question for queens is "What have they done outside RPDR"? For the purposes of notability for queens who have been in only one season, I'm not sure that second place is much different than first out. If they haven't done anything other than (not win) a season of RPDR, then they probably won't survive an AFD. Frankly with the article the way that it is in terms of showing notability, I wouldn't oppose an effort to delete it. OTOH, my *guess* is that an AFD won't occur until after the season ends. (doing an AFD and then having them win ends up just messy). As a note, the queen that finished third in Season 1, Rebecca Glasscock doesn't have (and probably shouldn't have) and article, OTOH, the later seasons of RPDR have been much more of a gateway to further Drag opportunities. But there is no deadline, if these other queens become notable enough for pages, they can be added when they are.
I appreciate your efforts, but let's temper them so that we can sure that we don't end up having to argue through AFDs. This being a Draft and then noting that here could have just as much gotten the attention of the editors who frequent this group.Naraht (talk) 21:51, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
I agree with Naraht. If they haven't done anything outside participating in RPDR, they are unlikely to survive an AfD. The Lady Camden article, as it exists, will not survive an AfD. There's nothing outside of the show in the way of independent RS coverage. Perhaps supporting and improving other RPDR articles in the meantime while working on an article in drafts? --Kbabej (talk) 21:56, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
For good or ill, the Season 14 queens who have articles already are because they've gotten additional press for declaring themselves transgender between the filming and the broadcast. Give it time. World of Wonder will probably give the ones who keep their noses clean contracts to do various other events under their umbrella and they'll get other notable gigs. Take a look at the last two seasons. Not necessarily notable during the time of broadcast but over the following 6 months or so... Also, *generally* the articles for the queens who do get Deleted by AFD generally get turned back into the redirect, so when they do get more notable, we haven't lost anything. Naraht (talk) 19:01, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Boot Category on Elimination Table

Should there be a boot category for whoever wins the Golden Boot award? I think it's more of a joke award unlike Miss Congeniality because the winner only gets the statue? I don't remember from season 13 if LaLa got something, but I would like to know if it should be on the elimination chart. TatiVogue (talk) 11:42, 20 April 2022 (UTC)

I'm pretty comfortable with the way it was done in Season 13. Include it in the writeup for the Reunion episode, but don't include it in the Elimination chart. Frankly, I'd by just fine if the Reunion episode was dropped *entirely* from the elimination chart, with Miss C moved to the Finale episode even if announced there, but that's probably a minority opinion and other than Miss C, the only useful information in the elimination chart other than Miss C for the Reunion episode over the last 7 seasons is the fact that Cherry Pie *wasn't* invited to it in her season.Naraht (talk) 13:00, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the input, because I wasn't sure if Maddy having the Golden Boot award was significant enough to put on the chart, so I removed it. TatiVogue (talk) 13:02, 20 April 2022 (UTC)

Anubis Finch

Resolved

An unregistered editor keeps restoring the poorly sourced Anubis Finch article, without demonstrating notability or discussing on the Talk page. Are we still in agreement the subject is not independently notable yet? If so, I could use help restoring the redirect so I'm not accused of edit warring. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:35, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

Hello @Another Believer. There's absolutely no way the Abubis article is anywhere near being ready. It should be a redirect at this point. --Kbabej (talk) 16:57, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

Willow Pill source

Willow Pill

Hello fellow RPDR editors! I found a source that adds some good background on Willow Pill's drag inspiration, but it uses (what I assume is a) deadname in the title. I've opened a discussion on Willow Pill's talk page and would love some other perspectives. I'm not married to an outcome; very interested in hearing other editor's thoughts! --Kbabej (talk) 19:15, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

Disqualification/Quitting

On the Elimination Legend, when a contestant is disqualified (Willam & Sherry), or they quit (DeLa & Adore), should the legend have their names on it? As an example, instead of "QUIT indicates that the contestant quit the competition in that episode.", it says "QUIT indicates that Adore Delano quit the competition in that episode." same with disqualifications, "DISQ (Disqualified) indicates that Sherry Pie was disqualified for admitted sexual misconduct." If this has already been a topic discussed please let me know. If not, please give me your opinion on if the Legend should say that! 😊 TatiVogue (talk) 13:32, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

I think the legend should stay non-specific (and thus theoretically identical across seasons).Naraht (talk) 13:34, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for the input! TatiVogue (talk) 13:56, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

Referencing Queens by Drag name "Last Name" in Articles. (sort of a rant)

Something I find *really* annoying articles about Drag Queen (specifically RPDR queens) is the attempt to make their drag name into a "First" and "Last" name when it has two or three pieces. As an example, on Bianca Del Rio's page there are at least two dozen occurances of "Del Rio" used as the Subject as it it was a last name (the way that for an article on George Washington, you'd use Washington as the Subject). As far as I know, the *only* RPDR drag queen where their drag name should be split that way is Derrick Barry since that his legal name (though I could see when it refering to her in drag the full name being used). *Possible* others are Mrs. Kasha Davis and *maybe* when it is a "house name" (see Phi-Phi, Asia and Ra'Jah). Some articles *do* get it right. Willow Pill never has "Pill" used as a sentence subject. If we don't have a way of distinguishing whether Monica Beverly Hillz should be referred to by Beverly Hillz or Hillz when it is used as a subject, then I just don't think we have a way of determining a "last name" for most of the other queens.Naraht (talk) 20:17, 26 April 2022 (UTC)

I think editors are generally in agreement re: not using fake "last names" in drag queen bios. Many articles require clean-up, but I don't think you'll face resistance by working to address this problem. You're right about exceptions, Derrick Barry and Kameron Michaels come to mind. Are you proposing anything specific here, User:Naraht, or are you just seeing if other editors generally agree with your frustration? ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:20, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
I should also point out, this is not just about how someone is referenced throughout an article's prose. This also impacts "DEFAULTSORT" commands and WikiProject Biography tags on article Talk pages. Sometimes even when people are referenced correctly in an article's prose, the sort functions are incorrect. Over time I hope we can get more consistency re: how stage name entries should be sorted. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:22, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
First of all, thank you for bringing up Kameron Michaels, I also was thinking she was one that might be an exception but couldn't remember her name (all I could remember was "The muscle queen of season..."). But Kameron Michaels is just as much of a drag name as the others, just with a second half that wouldn't be too odd as an actual last name (compared to Pill for example). But it *is* a drag name, he goes by Dane Young out of drag.
Secondly, to see whether there was any significant objection or if others agreed with the frustration. With this level of frustration, I'm certainly willing to work on it.
Thirdly, was to see if anyone had any ideas for others that should be treated as having actual last names.
Fourth, whether the fact that "Marilyn Monroe" which is *also* a stage name and the article treats Monroe as a Last name should make a difference.Naraht (talk) 20:30, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
@Naraht See Talk:Kameron Michaels re: use of "Michaels". This is another exception to the general rule. Also, if sources use someone's fake last name over and over, we might do the same. I guess I just mean to say, there's no one rule and we have to make judgement calls, take self-identification into account, and follow what sources do. Just wanted to bring this one discussion re: "Michaels" to your attention. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:34, 26 April 2022 (UTC)

Additional

One other queen competed under his legal name: Chad Michaels. So Kameron Michaels sorted under K and Chad Michaels sorted under M. *oy* Naraht (talk) 14:23, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

Yup! Try not to let the inconsistency bother you, as long as individual entries are sorted correctly. Actually, I appreciate some of this inconsistency because it speaks to the diversity of the Drag Race community and participants. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:27, 27 April 2022 (UTC)

Is Drag Race vs The World an actual concept and notable topic worthy of a Wikipedia entry? I understand we had UK vs the World and will have Canada vs the World, but having Drag Race vs The World suggests there's a franchise by this name, no? ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:28, 25 July 2022 (UTC)

I'm neutral, but with a gun to my head having to choose, I'd say against. (if 10 is completely support its existance and 0 is completely against, put me at a 4.9). But all it would take to flip me to a mild support would be someone showing me a WoW press release saying "the next incarnation of 'vs. the world' will be Canada". For World of Wonder itself, UK vs. the world isn't part of the Drag Race UK group (https://assets.worldofwonder.com/category/476-rupauls-drag-race-uk-vs-the-world) but I'm not sure it will be part of the Canada group either.Naraht (talk) 13:44, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
OTOH, I fully support each of the vTW having links in their "See Also" to the other vTW even though the template will include them.Naraht (talk) 14:16, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
I agree with @Another Believer's thoughts; having this article suggests there's a franchise by this name, when I don't believe there is. I think it's WP:SYNTH, right? Taking two shows (UK vs the World and Canada vs the World), then lumping them together to form an overarching series? From what I've read, the two shows are separate. They're obviously part of the RPDR empire, but I don't believe they're the same show. If other editors have sourcing to show my thoughts aren't the case, I'm willing to discuss! --Kbabej (talk) 14:56, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
Right, seems like synthesis. If there were sources specifically describing "vs the World" as a concept, then sure that'd make more sense. But right now this is just a page connecting two topics together, not to mention the topic can be covered at Drag Race (franchise). ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:27, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
@Another Believer I think we have a consensus at this point that franchise is just synth. Given that franchise doesn't actually exist, does this even need to go through AfD, or can it simply be redirected to Drag Race (franchise)? --Kbabej (talk) 15:39, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
I've redirected for now. If anyone reverts, we may need to go the AfD/merge route. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:55, 25 July 2022 (UTC)

Season 12 rankings.

Right now RuPaul's Drag Race (season 12) is self contradictory. Perhaps this should be discussed on the talk page for the article, but I hope this is a larger audience.

It boils down to the question as to whether Jackie Cox finished 4th or 5th. There is no question that Jaida Essence Hall, Crystal Method, and Gigi Goode finished ahead of her. The question is whether Sherry Pie should be counted in this regard. When Jackie left there were four queens heading to the final. When the Final was aired there were three queens. I know that this is explained in text, I'm wondering for the actual table. Note, the article on Jackie Cox (drag queen) says 5th. And of course this does affect the ranking of every other S12 queen who wasn't in the final.Naraht (talk) 14:39, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

As a note, I can't find any sources from World of Wonder, but https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/jackie-cox-on-days-return/ which is sort of half article, half friendly interview describes her as 5th. (And Jackie Cox includes a link to that on her personal twitter account)Naraht (talk) 14:49, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
My view is that it's standard in human culture that disqualification = no placement. Everyone moves up one. Ergo, Cox is 4th, and Dahlia Sin didn't 'come in 13th in a 12 person season.' Daundelin 14:56, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
If we go off The Olympics and sport where disqualification happens more frequently you can see how it treated at Athletics_at_the_2020_Summer_Olympics_–_Men's_4_×_100_metres_relay#Final. ≫ Lil-Unique1 -{ Talk }- 20:48, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

Sherry's Disqualification

About Sherry Pie's disqualification, should it be included on the table? She wasn't disqualified in any of the episodes, but she was disqualified off of the show. Shouldn't it just be blank on the reunion and finale because she wasn't disqualified on the reunion or finale. TatiVogue (talk) 20:28, 18 May 2022 (UTC)

Opinion... There should be something indicating what happened to her in the table, IMO, and what currently is there seems cleanest to me.Naraht (talk) 13:20, 20 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi everyone! Thanks for looking over the Soa de Muse draft, I got it started and I would've posted about it here sooner if I knew there was a RPDR wikiproject. (I'm clearly new here, ha). Moved to Mainspace

Moved it to Mainspace. Categories are currently Living People, Drag Race France Contestants (which I created, yes I know it only has one entry now) and French Drag Queens. I've got hidden year of birth missing since the infobox says c. 1989 (which is probably based on an age given at some point). If we find it, that's fine, otherwise we've got lots of queens without birth year, I think.Naraht (talk) 13:50, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

I've added Category:Non-binary drag performers and updated Template:Drag Race France. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:06, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

All Winners "HIGH" placements discussion

I started a section on the AS7 talk page that suggested reintroducing HIGH placements to some of the winners that they namedrop in the deliberation phase, only because the All Winners season removes the variable of negative critiques. Therefore, the show clearly states "These queens did very well this week." As there are no bottoms and only tops (heaven lol),adding HIGH placements aren't OR. Since this is touching on a very contentious matter in this subject topic space, comments would be appreciated. Thank you! rogueshanghaichat (they/them) 16:03, 21 May 2022 (UTC)

Moulin Ru: The Rusical

New stub: Moulin Ru: The Rusical ---Another Believer (Talk) 03:36, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

This is not notable enough to have its own article, neither are any of the other Rusical articles. It only details a single episode of the show and nothing else, with the lone three paragraphs seeming like they would fit more in the "Episodes" section of Season 14. Something like revamping the Rusical article to be more like the Snatch Game article where each episode from each season has its own section would fit in more with WP's notability guidelines. I don't see how a single episode warrants its own seperate article. rogueshanghaichat (they/them) 05:16, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
Agreed, combine the Rusicals.Naraht (talk) 12:51, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
Let's not be too quick here. Social Media Kings Into Queens survived AfD and Trump: The Rusical demonstrates some episodes receive significant coverage, too. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:11, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
Only two (including you) voted keep, which isn't representative of enough votes to cover the entire scope of Rusicals. Furthermore, coverage is not enough to justify seperate articles; Snatch Game episodes recieve tons of coverage from publications like Vulture yet we do not have seperate articles for each season of Snatch Game. As I'm not really that well versed in the specific policies that justify combining the Rusical, I'd like to ping @Lil-unique1: because my mind is blanking on what policies I should cite for this argument. My bad, it's quite late here. rogueshanghaichat (they/them) 15:17, 21 May 2022 (UTC)

It needs coverage independent of the series as a whole that discusses elements of the episode beyond simply affirming its existence. I'm not sure its going to grow much more but there is a strong fan base that is VERY supportive of these articles even if they don't always meet our criteria and policies around notability and WP:SIGCOV. That's not a diss to anyone by the way - I am a big drag race fan myself I just don't think not having an article for everything about drag race isn't a bad thing necessarily. ≫ Lil-Unique1 -{ Talk }- 15:23, 21 May 2022 (UTC)

I have a different perspective here. There are many quality entries on Wikipedia about specific television episodes. I would actually challenge this WikiProject to flesh out an episode entry, which could then be used as a template for others. I believe Trump: The Rusical could be expanded and promoted to Good article status, and I'd be surprised if the same couldn't be done for the Moulin Ru episode as well:
And, for the record, I think project members do a pretty good job about deciding which topics need entries and which don't. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:18, 21 May 2022 (UTC)

@Another Believer. Drag Race ELIM/BLOCK Table Formatting

As someone who is colourblind, the new update to changing the ELIM/BLOCK placement to having white text rather than black, because apparently black is unreadable on a red background, actually hurts my eyes. The red colour used for the placement is a lighter, more saturated red, so naturally with white text it hurts to look at (for me at least), there has never ever been a problem with the previous black and red combination, therefore I was wondering if this change could be undone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Taylveon (talkcontribs) 15:22, 28 May 2022 (UTC)

Hello, I've used the guidance at H:Colorblind to update the colour. This is AAA+ rated now and should be much better than the prior washed out red. ≫ Lil-Unique1 -{ Talk }- 21:59, 28 May 2022 (UTC)

Guidance on Creating pages for New Seasons?

RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under (season 2) was created with the only announced information being the date that the first episode would premiere. Is this enough going forward or should we wait for a list of queens? (I'm not sure if getting the list of judges affects this either way)Naraht (talk) 13:35, 22 June 2022 (UTC)

As far as I'm concerned, a premiere date should be enough to justify a new page, and we can assume the names of contestants will be confirmed very soon. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:15, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
In this case two weeks. Are we OK with that going forward?Naraht (talk) 23:20, 6 July 2022 (UTC)

New York Magazine's top 100 listing in article leads

Hey henny! I've book looking over some of the articles from the queens through the seasons, and lots of them incorporate a sentence such as this (example from Adore Delano's article): "In June 2019, a panel of judges from New York magazine placed her sixth on their list of "the most powerful drag queens in America", a ranking of 100 former Drag Race contestants." I believe that article has been incorporated into the lead on a majority of the alum's articles on WP if they are mentioned in this list. I'm fine with that sentence being included in the article body, somewhere in a Career or Impact section, but I do not think it is appropriate for the lead for a few reasons:

  • A. MOS:LEAD (a policy) states, in part, " Apart from basic facts, significant information should not appear in the lead if it is not covered in the remainder of the article." The inclusion of this information appears nowhere else in the article, so I'm wondering why it's being listed in the lead to begin with? If anything, it should appear in their career section, but inclusion in the lead gives it undue weight. It is not a "basic fact" about the subject.
  • B. Why are we giving this list weight above the other hundreds of lists out there? What makes this list special to be applied to the lead over all others?

I'm interested in hearing other editors' thoughts. Note: this topic has been discussed previously on this WikiProject, which is now in the page archives here. One of the main editors involved in that discussion has been blocked. --Kbabej (talk) 23:19, 17 July 2022 (UTC)

Seems like something worth mentioning in the article body, not the lead. ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:21, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
Well, it's been a bit since I opened this discussion and the single response agrees with moving the information to the article body instead of keeping in the lead. I'm going to be bold and start making these changes in the corresponding articles. Cheers! --Kbabej (talk) 15:39, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

Parent category for franchise?

Per Category:Big Brother (franchise) and Category:Masked Singer, we might consider creating Category:Drag Race or Category:Drag Race (franchise) and making Category:RuPaul's Drag Race a U.S.-specific category per Drag Race (franchise) and RuPaul's Drag Race. Thoughts? ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:22, 3 August 2022 (UTC)

I've been bold and created / populated Category:Drag Race (franchise). This means Category:RuPaul's Drag Race should now really only include entries which are specific to the U.S. version of the show. How can you help? Please go through this new category and make sure entries are sorted appropriately, and please help make sure Category:RuPaul's Drag Race is specific to the United States. Drag Race France - Winner Paloma

An editor on the french Wikipedia has already created a decent size article for fr:Paloma. Anyone want to try translating it for enwiki?Naraht (talk) 03:28, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

I would be very happy to translate the page for English Wikipedia. Just give me a moment. – JuanGLP (talk) 04:48, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
@Naraht, I tried to translate the page but almost half the article fell into error and that the translation did not work. But I did it! Here is the page: Paloma. I hope you are happy with it! — JuanGLP (talk) 05:25, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
The writing in the original fr.wiki article was a little clunky to begin with , I went through and made some quick grammatical edits here and there but it will definitely need more fleshing out to meet en.wiki standards (two of the citations in the tele section appear to be mostly passing mentions of Paloma, so I left those out). The career section needs some help, I think the OG fr author was trying to draw a parallel between Hugo performing masculinity to get acting work and the importance of the drag career but I couldn't get that section to flow better... RPDR out of the Studio...

I'm trying to remember when RPDR was "outside"... In an early season they had a pole dancing challenge or something similar when they were outside and in another early season, they had a final four(or five) mobile dance where the first queen started outside just outside the building...

Also, in which seasons regular or all star, did they have the finale in front of a *large* audience outside the studio. I know they did in the 7th (Jinkx), and I think most of the other more recent *regular* seasons, but I don't remember. :(Naraht (talk) 03:42, 13 August 2022 (UTC)

I'm not sure why you're asking (doesn't seem particularly important), but I recall one challenge was an outdoor wet T-shirt contest. ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:37, 13 August 2022 (UTC)

Drag Race Philippines

Hello everyone!

Wednesday, August 17, will be the day for the premiere for DRPH! This is what we are expecting!

  • Not only one episode will premiere, but we also get TWO episodes for the premiere!
  • We are finally getting an international version of UNTUCKED: Drag Race Philippines: Untucked! This series will premiere on August 19.
  • And I believe our guest judges for the first two episodes are: Rajo Laurel, BJ Pascual, and Jon Santos.

Well, start your engines! May the best drag queen win! — JuanGLP (talk) 01:23, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

Sounds like you'll be keeping a close eye on Drag Race Philippines and Talk:Drag Race Philippines for us! ---Another Believer (Talk) 02:43, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

Well, I am just doing my duty! I am too excited for the show! — JuanGLP (talk) 04:46, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

Drag Race Philippines: Untucked!

Even though Untucked (and AS Untucked) are one article, I think we should have a separate article for DRPH:Untucked. Feelings?Naraht (talk) 03:34, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

I don’t see how the Untucked show for the Philippines would be notable to spin off, given that season hasn’t even completed. Without looking, there aren’t any Untucked articles for individual country shows in the franchise; just the one article is enough in my mind. —Kbabej (talk) 04:01, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
Well I think for Drag Race Philippines: Untucked!, it should be under the DRPH article instead of having to create another article. And if you would like to create it, then there's gotta be some notable sources to be an article. — JuanGLP (talk) 04:46, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

Template:Drag Race Philippines

At what point should we create this template? I figure that at this point, there would be three links from it. Drag Race Philippines, Paolo Ballesteros, and Jiggly Caliente. Naraht (talk) 15:47, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

For now the template would just have a header, a host, and a judge (or is Paolo Ballesteros also a judge?). We can assume an entry will be created for the season winner soon enough, so I'm not opposed to navbox creation. I'm also ok with waiting to see if a second season will be ordered since that'll mean more articles. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:51, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
Unclear to me about host vs. host/judge in the various spinoffs. We don't seem to make the distinction in the templates. (though we do in the infoboxes in the season pages. I'll create since they'll broadcast the first episode tomorrow-ish (not sure what time/date it is in the Philippines right now)Naraht (talk) 17:20, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
I think this is jumping the gun. The first episode hasn't even aired. The article is basically a stub content-wise, and we don't even know the role of some of the judges/hosts. I think it's best to wait until we have some actual content to cover. --Kbabej (talk) 17:22, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
Understood, but already completed. And we should have *some* information in the next 36 or so hours. I also created the Category:Drag Race Philippines and had to create Category:LGBT-related mass media in the Philippines to put it in.Naraht (talk) 17:32, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
Given it has two links, and we're not even sure if the Paolo entry is accurate, I don't think this is needed on the page at all. --Kbabej (talk) 17:46, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
To be clear, the template has 3 links if you include the header. Navboxes are required to have at least 3 links, so technically this template is allowed. I vote to keep for now and we can discuss if deletion makes sense later. (Presumably we'll have at least a couple more links to add soon.) ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:56, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

KaladKaren (judge) would be another link to add... ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:02, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

KaladKaren page created. I'll try to go back tomorrow to add the *many* other TV shows she was on that I now have linked to the article. There are at least 15 links to KaladKaren on enwiki now that have *nothing* to do with DRPH!Naraht (talk) 19:09, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

"Future Appearances" section.

I went link and linked a show in the "Future Appearances" section of RPDR 5. I don't really see much use in what is in this section. This should all be in the individual queen's pages and IMO, gives less useful information than information on the queens going into the competition.Naraht (talk) 21:28, 17 August 2022 (UTC)

Future appearances should be removed. They don't make sense to me. We got rid of Navigational Boxes a long time ago. This is just a recreation of that. To be honest, I did remove a number of them when I saw them but not sure if they've since been added back in. It's also weird from a user experience point of view to read above the future of a character when you're reading about a previous season. Appearances on Drag Race should be included alongside other appearances on each performer's page. >> Lil-unique1 (talk) — 21:33, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
I second this. I don't think we should have the section at all. And this individual edit is confusing; the show you have linked is not a Drag Race franchise show. It's completely unconnected. --Kbabej (talk) 21:34, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
From what I can tell, the Dragula producers have a decent relationship with the Drag Race people, but agreed unconnected.Naraht (talk) 14:50, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

I don't think these "Future appearances" sections are necessary. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:01, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

I agree the future appearance sections is redundant. Sunrise In Brooklyn 16:16, 20 August 2022 (UTC)

Expanded question

RuPaul's Drag Race (season 11)#Future_appearances probably has an example of *everything* except for Dragula. Are we agreed that *nothing* in that section belongs (future appearances on All Stars, future appearances as a guest, etc.) It feels like a *general* rule that nothing that occurs after the end of the episode in which the crown is given belongs in the article. (I'd make a minor exception for what happened with Sherry Pie afterwards if she didn't have an article) Are we agreed?Naraht (talk) 14:58, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

Yes, there seems to be a consensus that the information should be removed. All responding editors do not think the info should be included. --Kbabej (talk) 15:11, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

Calling for the editor

Corygillis5550176 , it appears that you are doing a significant amount of the "Future Appearances" work on the RPDR pages (as well as Survivor and others). It appears that this Project views them as unneeded, but I wanted to get your opinions before we start chopping them.Naraht (talk) 19:26, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

Since there has not been a response in a few days, and we have consensus, I think the information can be removed. Do you want to do that, @Naraht? Also removed from Canada 1, Canada 2 and Holland 1. There are still hits for "drag race" "future appearances" in mainspace, but they are on pages for seasons of the show "The Bachelorette", where two seasons had DR queens guest star and one where a reference title includes "Drag Race". So unless the editor who created them starts recreating him, I think we are done.Naraht (talk) 16:58, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for doing that, @Naraht! Appreciated. --Kbabej (talk) 17:01, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

When I looked at what was linked to RPDR DU 2, oddly enough multiple pages already linked to Hannah Conda, and it turns out that there was an article on Hannah Conda that was AFD'd in 2011.
