There is a serious proposal to use "plural they" to described a transgender person

I can't believe I even have to report this, but some editors are seriously proposing using "they" instead of she/her for Alexis Arquette at Talk:Alexis Arquette#Detransitioned?. So if this is done, we will have sentences such as "Arquette is noted for their roles in films, and they were nominated for several awards" scattered throughout Alexis Arquette. MOS:GENDERID is very clear about this: we use the pronoun appropriate for the person's latest self-designated gender. Sundayclose (talk) 01:18, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Project page

The beginning of the page has two separate texts appearing in the same space; one of them looks like a message which should have been put on the Talk page.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 19:33, 29 June 2018 (UTC)

Not sure which two texts you mean. There a bunch of strange layout stuff I would do away with on this page, including that "US vs. UK English" image, which is a net negative (perpetuating discord instead of commonality).  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  20:14, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
Mixed up with the middle column at the top of the page I see text including "Hello : Can you help to improve ..." with a link to Mr. Guye above it.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 09:09, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
It seems to be because there is more text on the page that will fit in when I view it at 150% zoom level.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 18:43, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
@Johnsoniensis: I can't replicate this exact behavior. I get cleanly moving content blocks. What browser/OS (including versions) are you seeing this in?  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  06:34, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
I am using Internet Explorer; when the zoom level is reduced it appears normal so I think no further action is required.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 08:17, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
Okey-doke. IE has a lot of CSS issues; that's why MS replaced it, though I guess the new thing (I forget the name of it) only runs on newer versions of Windows.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  06:31, 8 July 2018 (UTC)

Northumbrian dialect (Old English) - Requested move

It has been requested to move Northumbrian dialect (Old English) to Northumbrian Old English, see here. The discussion has stalled, but it appears there might be issues that go beyond the scope of that article. If anyone wants to have a look, that would be appreciated. A new newsletter directory is out!

A new Newsletter directory has been created to replace the old, out-of-date one. If your WikiProject and its taskforces have newsletters (even inactive ones), or if you know of a missing newsletter (including from sister projects like WikiSpecies), please include it in the directory! The template can be a bit tricky, so if you need help, just post the newsletter on the template's talk page and someone will add it for you.

Attempted uprising or uprising attempt

In a RM in 2019 Venezuelan uprising there is a discussion if we should add the adjective attempt as in "uprising attempt" or attempted as in "attempted uprising". The decision seems minor but people are starting to oppose the name change because of it. The first is an "noun noun" and the later is "adjective-noun". Aside from that both seem natural to me.MaoGo (talk) 12:03, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
