E-Volunteering Welcome

Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. I am the ROM's Wikikpedian in residence, Molly McGowan User:MJMcgowan. I am working with Ryan and will be overseeing the project. Feel free to ask me any questions via my talk page or email, mollymc@rom.on.ca. I'll be glad to help in anyway I can. Currently, I am focusing on making sure everything listed on the Royal Ontario Museum Iconic Objects page links to another article. Don't worry though, I am going to start off by putting limited information up so If you are currently working on an article keep at it! I'll try to keep everyone updated on my goals for the project. Also please make sure you are logging your volunteer hours! This is very important!

Update,

I have moved the article into article space and it is awaiting review. I would appreciate feedback on what the article should be called. I have called it: "(Untitled) Blue Lady (Sculpture)" - however, I see that it is referred to in the ROM Wiki content as "Kunti" (Blue Lady) including in the Navbox created for the Iconic items. Please clarify the correct name for article/artwork. I found it referred to as "(Untitled) Blue Lady" on the ROM website here: http://www.rom.on.ca/en/collections-research/rom-channel/iconic-blue-lady This page was posted as recently as November 2012, so I thought it to be the most recent and reliable. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Also, is there a photo for the sculpture that can be used for the Wiki article?

Elitism at the ROM?

"Anyone with a college degree can be an ROM E-Volunteer! You do not have to be able to visit the museum". Wow. Well that seems to rule out anyone who can't visit the museum to present their diploma, or those of us who could visit the museum but want to edit wikipedia anonymously, or something. In regard to these concerns. We state that "you do not have to be able to visit the museum" so people understand that they do not need to live near the Royal Ontario Museum in order to be an E-Volunteer and so people know that our program does not require them to visit the ROM in order to participate since it is virtual volunteering program. However, e-volunteers are more than welcome visit the ROM's main library in order to do research if they wish. The college degree requirement was put in place to try and ensure that our volunteers have good writing skills and know how to properly cite sources.
