Danny Chambers (born 12 January 1982) is a British Liberal Democrat politician who has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Winchester since 2024. He was first elected in the 2024 general election.[1] Danny is also a veterinary surgeon, founder of Veterinary Voices UK and trustee of Vetlife, a mental health charity.[2] He lives in Shawford, Hampshire, with his partner.

Early life[edit]

He was born in Plymouth, United Kingdom, and grew up on a farm near Lifton in Devon.

He is a Council Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.[3] He is a contributor to New Scientist magazine.[4]

He has worked with volunteers with veterinary charities in India, Morocco and the Gambia. He has participated in public health programmes to eradicate rabies from street dogs. He has also worked to improve the lives of working equids, where people are reliant on them for their income.

Political career[edit]

In the 2019 general election, Chambers ran as the Liberal Democrats' candidate for North Cornwall against incumbent MP Scott Mann.[5] Danny Chambers received 36.6% of the vote, and came second to Scott Mann.[6]

In the 2024 general election, Chambers ran as the LibDem canddiate for Winchester.
