30 East 29th Street (also known as Rose Hill Tower) is a residential skyscraper in the Rose Hill Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. The 605-foot-tall (184.4m) tower is 45 stories and contains 123 condominiums. It was completed in October, 2021.[1] The tower was developed by the Rockefeller Group and designed by the architecture firm, CetraRuddy.[2] It is the Rockefeller Group's first ever residential project in their 90-year history.[3]

Architecture

Facade

[edit]

The exterior of the building is Art Deco inspired and is a contemporary take on Gothic Revival skyscrapers. The facade is composed of a textured antique bronze-tinted grid patterned with chevrons.[4] The chevrons are another nod to art deco design, and were fabricated by a metal press. The chevron pattern from the facade is also repeated in the carpets and bathroom tiling of the interiors. On the upper portion of the building are balconies that connect to their adjoining apartments, marking the first level of setbacks.[1]

Interior

[edit]

The interior includes an indoor pool, which was inspired by the public bathhouses of the 1930s and 40s. The central wall of the pool room features a mosaic tile mural with representations of the Amazon goddesses of the time period. The building also includes a skydeck on the 37th floor.[3]
