Alex Talman Rogers (born September 4, 1971) is a United States-born entrepreneur.[1] and activist[2] who founded the International Cannabis Business Conference[3] and Ashland Alternative Health. Rogers also co-founded the Talman Group and currently resides in Slovenia[4].

Activism[edit]

Alex Rogers moved from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Santa Cruz, California in 1992 and met longtime cannabis activist Jack Herer in 1993. Working alongside Jack Herer, Dennis Peron, Ed Rosenthal, and musicians Cypress Hill, Rogers advocated for cannabis reform and helped gather signatures for citizen initiatives[5].

Additionally, Alex Rogers produced the Hemp Expo in 1994 in Golden Gate Park[6]. The event was the largest cannabis event in the United States at the time, with over 30,000 attendees. Rogers moved to Europe in 1998 where he ran the Melkweg concert house for the High Times Cannabis Cup.

Ashland Alternative Health[edit]

Alex Rogers founded Ashland Alternative Health in 2010, and was featured in a commercial for the medical cannabis clinic which was the first medical cannabis commercial to air on network television in the United States[7].

International Cannabis Business Conference[edit]

The first International Cannabis Business Conference was held in Portland, Oregon in 2014[8]. Founded by Alex Rogers, the international conference series later expanded to San Francisco[9], Vancouver, B.C.[10], Hawaii[11], Barcelona[12], Zurich[13], Berlin[14], Croatia[15], and Slovenia[16]
