Ay Zed, born Azuka Akaeze, is a Nigerian music producer known for his unique sonic arsenal, which has produced a string of chart-topping hit records for some of Nigeria's top artists. His latest notable works include "Twe Twe.[1]" by Kizz Daniel and the remix featuring Davido.

Early Life and Education[edit]

Born and raised in Port Harcourt city, Ay Zed developed an early interest in music, starting at the age of 9 by playing drums, percussions, and keyboard in various churches. He later pursued a degree in computer science from the University of Port Harcourt.

Career[edit]

Upon moving to Lagos, Ay Zed began actively pursuing his career as a music producer. With years of experience in the afrobeats scene, he has collaborated with and produced for top Nigerian artists including Timaya, Flavour, Ajebo Hustlers, Kizz Daniel, Davido, Patoranking, Yung EL, and Cynthia Morgan.

One of Ay Zed's[2] notable productions is "Twe Twe[3]," which originally peaked at number 1[4] on all official charts in Nigeria and various charts across Africa. The remix of "Twe Twe[5]" featuring Davido also achieved significant success, quickly rising to the top of the charts[6]. His work on the remix of Twe Twe with Davido earned him a spot on the Turn Tables official charts for Producers[7]

Ay Zed's contributions extend beyond "Twe Twe." He produced tracks such as "Never[8]," "Feran Mi," and "Feran You Two[9]" (with Jalil & Jelani) for Kizz Daniel's Maverick album, showcasing his versatility and talent in the music industry. Additionally, he produced "No Pressure[10]" for Timaya. Another notable production is "Yafun Yafun" for Ajebo Hustlers, featured on their debut solo album "Kpos Lifestyle Vol. 1".

Ay Zed recently collaborated with Kizz Daniel on his latest EP "TZA"[11] meaning "Thanks A Lot" which is a project he released for his fans to appreciate them for sticking by him all through the years.
