Indian Railways, the largest rail network in Asia, has launched a new initiative "Dekho Apna Desh" to promote tourism and national integration in the country. The initiative, called Bharat Gaurav, or Pride of India, allows private or state-owned operators to run theme-based tourist circuit trains on some of the curated routes that showcase India's historical, cultural and religious diversity.[1][2]

The Bharat Gaurav trains are designed to offer a comfortable and affordable travel experience to the tourists, who can choose from various packages that include accommodation, meals, sightseeing, and entertainment. Ramayana Express: This train covers the places associated with the epic Ramayana, such as Ayodhya, Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Nasik, Hampi, Rameshwaram, and Madurai. The train operates from Delhi and has a duration of 17 days and 16 nights. - Bharat Darshan: This train covers the major tourist destinations in India, such as Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Goa, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Mysore, Ooty, Cochin, Kanyakumari, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Tirupati, and Chennai. The train operates from Mumbai and has a duration of 14 days and 13 nights. -[4][5][6][7]

Bharat Gaurav Karnataka: This train covers the heritage and cultural sites of Karnataka, such as Bengaluru, Mysore, Hampi, Badami, Pattadakal, Aihole, Belur, Halebidu, Shravanabelagola, and Murudeshwar. The train operates from Bengaluru and has a duration of 7 days and 6 nights.[8][9]

Bharat Gaurav North East: This train covers the scenic and diverse landscapes of the North East, such as Guwahati, Shillong, Cherrapunji, Kaziranga, Majuli, Tezpur, Tawang, Bomdila, Dirang, and Bhalukpong. The train operates from Guwahati and has a duration of 10 days and 9 nights.[10][11]
