  • Comment: For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 07:14, 17 July 2024 (UTC)

Lena Snow (Artist)

[edit]

Lena Snow (born in 1989) is an award-winning fine artist based in Germany. She is also the founder and editor of the international art platform and magazine 'Goddessarts Magazine'..[1][2][3]. The artist is best known for her sensual and expressive female portraits which have been exhibited and published around the world.

Bio

[edit]

Lena Snow earned a master’s degree at the University of Mannheim (1st state examination) and a teaching degree at the SSDL Karlsruhe (2nd state examination).

Due to some stressful years, she had almost given up on art. However, in March 2020 when the Corona Crisis struck the world, she could focus more on herself and started to paint again. Since then, she has devoted her life fully to art. Creativity has helped her through adolescence and traumatic life events. Yet, it was equally the process of emancipation and self-reliance that contributed to an elevation of her creativity.

In 2021 she founded the art platform “Goddessarts Magazine” which is an online and print magazine, features an art blog and hosts virtual exhibitions since 2024. The message of emancipation and self-expression is also a vital theme of her magazine and its wide community.

Lena Snow has exhibited nationally and internationally. Notable successes include the participation in the art fairs Art Karlsruhe[4] in Germany, Art Basel[5] and Art Kaunas in Lithuania, as well as the Biennale Austria. The artist has also exhibited at the MEAM (European Museum of Modern Art)[6][7] in Barcelona and at the Museo dell'imprenditoria Femminile in Muravera, Italy[8]. Lena has appeared in numerous international art and lifestyle magazines, such as The Best Address Magazine[9], CREATIV Magazine[10], and Art Market Magazine[11]. She was also given the cover story by Imirage Magazine[12], Artmagazineium[13] and Moevir Magazine[14], among others, and her portfolio is listed at Artist Talk Magazine[15][16].

Snow is a member and supporter of several organizations and groups like Where Are the Women Artists[17], Brushes with Cancer, Terre des Femmes[18] and Women. Life. Freedom. With her magazine she regularly donates to humanitarian or non-profit organizations and raises awareness about their causes.

She is also listed in the Katalog der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek[19] and wrote for the international Shunga Erotic Art Magazine[20]

Work

[edit]

Lena Snow mainly works with acrylic on paper and paints figurative, female portraits. Her female entities are often depicted in a sensual, mythical, and elevated manner. Topics of spiritual enlightenment, connectivity, and female identity are always present in her art. Essential sources of inspiration are not only impressions of nature, but also intriguing female characters, goddesses and nymphs.

Snow's ideas are strongly influenced by American Transcendentalism, especially the concepts of self-reliance and higher consciousness.

She describes her art in her own words as follows:

"I explore various aspects of femininity and female identity in my paintings. My inspiration are personal stories of women I encountered, but also female characters in mythology, film, and literature. They are a new, powerful, and emancipated approach of one's identity and sexuality, and at the same time they stand for empowerment for all women.

For a long time only men have painted women, neglecting their personal stories of ambivalence, trauma and multifaceted nature, but it is time that women change the narrative and capture their unique stories by contributing to a new, empowered expression of elevated femininity."[21]

Snow's paintings often show nudity as an expression of freedom and naturalness, as she expresses in an online article with the Warriors Within Collective:

“Nudity is a central element in my art and sometimes seen as quite controversial. However, the expression of nudity means liberation and freedom, and is merely a depiction of a natural state given by nature. As a woman living in a country where you are allowed to express nudity, it is not only a privilege to do so, but is an urge.”[22]

In her earlier years as an artist, Snow created artworks out of recycled materials like used paper and plastic waste, underlining the importance of a responsible usage of natural resources.

She is represented by notable international online art galleries and art platforms such as Artio Gallery[23], Singulart[24], Saatchi[25], TriCera[26], KaleidoArt[27] and ArtMajeur[28]
